[Q] clarification about proper FXP CM7.2 Installation

Hi there! I have been searching in this forum on how to properly install CM based ROms by FXP, here are lots of posts there but of different methods that really bothers me and confuses me. Some says, do not wipe system, other says, make a full wipe first.
My question is, is the installation procedure on installing CM 7.2 the same as installing other custom ROMs such as Spartan and HASA?(Unlocked BL already) st15i
Is it just :
1.) Flash .62 official GB firmware from sony FTF
2.) Flash the provided kernel by FXP for cm 7.2(FXP 130 I guess is the most stable release, according to comments)
3.) boot to recovery and make a full wipe this way:
3.a Wipe data/Factory Reset
3.b Wipe cache/partition
3.c Go to mount/storage and format /system, /data, /cache
3.d Go to Advance and Wipe dalvik cache and Battery stats
4.) FLASH ROM
5.) Reboot
Is this the proper way of installing the ROM? To those who have already installed CM 7.2 there, please help. And also please refer me to the most stable build of cm 7.2 if fxp 130 is not the most stable.
Thanks and more power!
Flash kernel.
Wipe all cache
Flash the rom

Thank you for answering. Do you mean wipe cache/partition and dalvik cache only? That's all? No need to format system?
Do I need to flash stck .62 first?

[Q] How to install this rom? xD

Hi guys, you can tell me how to install this rom? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012666
What kernel should I use for better results?
I think like any other rom...
Put it into your sd-card, reboot to CWM and do the wipes(Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format system) and the install the .zip
But first of all you should flash the kernel which is given in the download(together with the rom)
AW: [Q] How to install this rom? xD
I think he better should not format system
Just wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and advanced -> wipe dalvik cache!

I'm doing it everytime I flash a new rom
Nothing wrent wrong :fingers-crossed:
Any ICS kernel is compatible. I strongly recommend MESA Hybrid v3.5 or LuPuS v3. I also recommend to format system before flashing new ROM. I've done it over 100 times safely. You'll avoid a lot of problems.

I think he should first do it without wiping system and incase it was required and he stuck in a bootloop, then he can simply do the process again with wiping system
Press THANKS if I helped,
Regards,
AJ
I tried the rom(with rage kernel 3.2), and always go in bootloop
make sure u already have ur ROM on sdcard and the others (wifi-fix.zip or whatever)
on CMW, u can safely wipe /system when u wanna flash new ROM, but REMEMBER not to reboot your phone AFTER u wipe /system. if u do this, u will see "new boot kernel animation" a.k.a BOOTLOOP.
after wipe /system,/cache,/dalvik,/data,/sd-ext then next thing is install ur ROM.
if u using TWRP, its not necessary to wipe /system bcoz TWRP will wiping /system by itself when u install new ROM.
yes, i sent from my phone using Xda Premium, so what?

[Q] Downgrade from CM11 to Jelly bean 4.1.2

Hi guys im an xperia s LT26i user and i have an unlocked bootloader. Im currently running cm11 rom by raymanfx. The last time i tried to flash 4.1.2 rom i did NOT wipe system and i ended up getting a bootloop and soft brick. So if i am running cm11 and if i want to downgrade to 4.1.2 do i need to wipe system, data, cache and dalvik cache? cache and dalvik is a must but if i wipe system and data will it work?
You should make a full wipe probably everytime you switch your ROM. So:
- factory reset
- wipe dalvik cache
- format system
So your entire system is clear and if this don't work flash latest Stock ROM first and then the ROM you'ld like to run on your phone
