Is it possible to turn a fake S-view case into a real one?
I know the S-View has the IC chip but thissite is selling IC chips for cheap. Could I just put the IC chip where it is suppose to go on the fake one and have functional S-View?
Yes it is possible to make the fake I view case work.And all I will say is you are on the right track as far what you are thinking to make it work

The case also needs a magnet built it, but isn't this a waste of time, the site only sells them for at .99USD and you need to buy 100 minumum.
I think I seen a site selling them for USD 9 each, unless you live in china where you can get them cheap locally, it will work out more expensive.
In china you can buy the cover with and without the ic, i've purchased them individually including the ic, and there are many version, you need to know which one are good quality and which one are complete crap.
The price I get them locally are less than what that site is selling them at, but you need to live near china.
your best option is to by a complete one from ebay.

I only ask because I am reviewing a custom made flip cover but it doesn't come with Sview and I wanted to install it. Would the IC connector allow it to sleep/wake at least or do I still need a magnet?

yes you need a magnet
It's cheaper to buy another fake case with the chip built in from Ebay. They have them for $7 now

That's probably what I am going to do. It's like a custom Batman S-view case, so I really want to get it to work. Hopefully I can just take the chip and put it in the one I currently have.

Thats one thing about buying from aliexpress, either the shipping cost is free or it's overpriced, many of the stuff from their send to hong kong where I live, only cost a fraction of the cost of what they offer.

Just download S-view apps or go for pro. It will turn your fake sview to original sview look by the apps sensor.

with the sensor on it will consume more power, just go for a non oem s view cover from ebay, they are very cheap.
There is a new s view accessory out, I will try to get a few and will post more information on this.

I never said anything regarding the app. In fact upon using it, it does drain a good amount of battery, and is just not as useful.

I think the kitkat update should of fix this problem, on my note 3, updated to KK and the s view chipset still works, my qi/s view receiver also works.

If you go to the Samsung website there is an accessories page off the Note's product page. There is a pouch that is sized for the Note that can hold the Note and is waterproof. This is probably not what you want though, as you probably want a case rather than a pouch. It is unlikely you will find any case that is waterproof, you may find some that are water resistant.
Anyway the product is by Berlin Gear, and is often sold at boat rental locations to keep your phone with you when you are boating.

Oh one thing, there are a bunch of pouches that fit the galaxy note out there, the one I pointed to just happens to be easy to find from the Samsung Galaxy Note page. You can also go to Amazon and look for one, there is even a skin tight pouch that can be wrapped around the Galaxy note that will make it waterproof, although not sure for how long. This makes parts of the phone inaccessible, but would be good if you need to use the phone for a period of time near water.

I already spent a few hours on the phone trying to convince them. First time at 1 million sold, second time at US launch.Offered to take my phone over there for measurements and prototyping. Got either: keep your eyes peeled on the facebook page. Or: we are working on a universal case that should work for your phone.
So, I don't know what their R&D consists of, but apparently many millions of units on the market isn't enough to get their interest. Maybe the budget just doesn't support new products... or the owner is an iPhan.
That makes no sense on life proofs part...gee who wants to make money...

I don't know if it helps, but on aliexpress some sellers have tempered glass for the camera. I know it's not exactly what you are looking for, but it's a good start as I believe the actual camera glass will be quite hard to find.

Oh no, I was thinking about me ordering and of course paying it but sending it to your house. My issue is not having a delivery address. Actually my gf just told me that we are going to Cherating in a couple of weeks after going to Borneo.
mine cracked too after falling out my pocket as I was sitting on the floor to the concrete ( I purchased the replacement from aliexpress but hopefully it's easy to install. Do you just pry the old one out using a tweezer because it's just hold together by 3m tape right?

You don't need to open your phone.
The procedure is pretty much the same as this: OnePlus 3/3T cracked camera glass replacement
If you act carefully it should work ok
I'm soon returning my mate 20 pro and have ordered a mate 20x to replace it. I purchased some plastic screen protectors (never opened) that are meant to work with the fingerprint sensor and a clear case that I will no longer need after I post it back. If anyone wants them if you will cover the postage they are yours.
screen protectors cost me £7.99 from amazon I think case was £4
If your in the UK I guess around £2 postage should cover it. Will post around 1st of december. Let me know if your interested.

Kind of but not by me. The chinese manufacturers made this case which is what my one was going to be but my one was going to have the plunger on the back screen and no cover for the front.

I bought the original version of this which didnt come attached to a bumper(you were expected to remove the bumper and stick it with the adhesive strip the case came with. But that adhesive was weak and kept on unsticking.
This new design they've made integrated with the bumper seems better but I think they should use magnets instead of a plunger because sometimes it's worrying how much it pulls on the screen before it pops off.
For the moment my case of choice is this one in black, I just take it out when I want to unfold. But it allows the back to be used while the case is on which is what I ultimately wanted. You just tap through the case since there's no hole which is what I wanted and taps work as normal
