[Q] Recovery - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i tried booting into recovery to flash a new rom and now my phone keeps looping from the samsung galaxy s3 screen to recovery. The only thing that comes up in recovery is the version at the bottom and the logo. i cant boot inti download mode nor can i get it to start up normally. what shall i do?

Follow the guide in general forum, sticky threads, to flash back to stock. Factory reset and you can start over.

Try to flash recovery from odin...you can download tar file from philz thread

Let me understand 100%....
If you have battery pulled and then cannot boot into recovery or download mode. Correct ?
But you can power on, but stuck on the boot screen. Correct ?
If this is both correct, maybe your boot partition is corrupted and without download mode or recovery the only hope is the USB jig to force it to boot into download mode and then you can flash official firmware with Odin.

BOTH right ,I can get into download or recovery mode when power on , but stuck on the boot screen. When I charge it , the battery logo isn't appear.
what should I do??
Please explain what exactly steps you were doing that lead to your situation. Maybe others will have another idea.
Try the USB jig to force your phone into download mode and flash firmware with Odin as previously suggested.
If the jig doesn't work. You're bricked and only a JTag or Samsung service center can now help.

I FLASHED the offical room found in firmware.COM ,after that , it reboot and get into the recovery mode itself.
Excellent, seems we misunderstood each other , otherwise you would not have been able to flash anything.
Now. Just flash root kernel (with cwm included) and you'll be good to flash your favorite rom.
Don't forget to full wipe before the rom flash (system.data.cache.dalvik) and you will be trouble free. First boot will take a while so be patient.

then your flashing did not do anything?
dont do factory reset, first try wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache? then try reboot.
if unsuccessfull pick an official ICS rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487 and flash from ODIN, and root
(pull battery, put back, vol-down+home+Power then vol-up to get download mod)
refere this site for using of ODIN : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13712988&postcount=1

need to remind you mate that you MUST do a backup of ur rom before attempting to do anything else on ur phone... just in case you messed up everything, then you do have at least 1 solution at hand..
try to download any rom from intratech and flash it via odin..
if you cant get into download mode, you must right now, have USB jig
I can get into download mode and flashed room but it reboot and get into recovery mode itself again .
u got urself a Bootllop

Nothing to panic about, first of all, FLASH A STOCK FIRMWARE..and it will boot into the recovery showing loads of errors, well the problem has not been solved,clearly..
Now, Flash a Stock Kernel Via ODIN..Or a CF-Root kernel as suggested by one of the users! Also,if u still face problems, In the Question & Answer Section of the Forum For SGS2,u will find :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458
&
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1108499
please go thorough the respective threads, read and you will find a solution and, make sure ur battery does not run out
Try flashing a custom root ROM such as Litening ROM v2.6. You can flash .tar directly with Odin. It will install CWM Recovery and siyahkernel. Give it time to first boot maybe 5 minutes ... be patient

After., update to the latest ICS siyahkernel with custom cwm recovery here

[Q] Am I facing a brick? (can't read sdcard in CWM)

Hi experts, I need your urgent help, I've been dragging this today with no solution.
First my s3 showed a "cannot read sdcard" when I tried to flash the Temasek v.22 update. The phone was trapped in a loop and I at least I could enter recovery.
I though it was a recovery problem and I flashed a new recovery (6.0.1.9.) via ODIN. The result was the phone stucked in the "Samsung Galaxy s III" logo and I cannot even access to the CWM.
The last thing I've tried was flashing a Stock ROM via Odin but it did fail. The only menu I can enter now is the Download Mode.
Does anybody know if I'm bricked or what I should do to solve it?
Thanks
i suggest installing stock rom via odin, flash recovery and than install rom.
Im afraid your hp might be bricked.
Ok lets do some checks.
Go to download mode and see whether the brand name '' i9300'' is there.. If yes, there is hope...

My Samsung S3 gt 19300 keeps bootlooping ...Any help?

HELP! galaxy s3 boot loop can't restart, can't get to recovery mode but i can get into download mode!
It started first when i went to rom manager and wanted to reboot into cwm instead of restarting because of my laziness and by mistake i clicked on twrp to reboot into it but i don't have twrp installed .I only have cwm then it goes into boot loop.
I've tried
1)replace battery for many times(automatically goes to boot loop when replace).
2)tried to go to recovery mode(Cwm recovery) it shows "Clockworkmod" logo for a sec and continue boot loop.
.
So i don't really know what to do right now ... Should i install a new fiemware? Please tell me what to do:'(

Cannot start S3. Cycles between starting and CWM Recovery (bootloop)

I was just preparing to update to new ROM when this happened
I just installed the newest CWM (non-touch) 4.0.4.6 and from ROM Manager i booted into recovery. Now when i start up my phone it displays the normal Samsung logo with red dot on topleft of the screen and after that CWM flashes real quick like one second (without menus) and then the cycle continues.
Is there anything i can do to my phone at this point?
Follow the guide in general forum sticky thread to flash a full stock firmware, or just a recovery if you want to try, with odin.
ROM manager is best avoided for the s3.

Go to download mode and flash a new recovery by downloading .tar file on your PC and flash that via Odin..

Okay, thanks for this guys! Should search more threads before getting all worked up if something like this happens again.
