Cannot start S3. Cycles between starting and CWM Recovery (bootloop) - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was just preparing to update to new ROM when this happened
I just installed the newest CWM (non-touch) 4.0.4.6 and from ROM Manager i booted into recovery. Now when i start up my phone it displays the normal Samsung logo with red dot on topleft of the screen and after that CWM flashes real quick like one second (without menus) and then the cycle continues.
Is there anything i can do to my phone at this point?

Follow the guide in general forum sticky thread to flash a full stock firmware, or just a recovery if you want to try, with odin.
ROM manager is best avoided for the s3.

Go to download mode and flash a new recovery by downloading .tar file on your PC and flash that via Odin..

Okay, thanks for this guys! Should search more threads before getting all worked up if something like this happens again.

[Q] Help needed: Tab bricked but it happened when the tab where in use!?

Hi guys.
Im on coffeebeans ICS ROM on my TAB 10.1 and it worked perfectly for about two months. But suddenly when visiting a random web page the tab suddently froze. When i rebooted it it was stuck at Samsung logo and justs restarts after a while. When going into Clockwork mod i cannot get access to "install zip from sdcard" the screen is black when trying to get access to internal memory. When trying to set it back to factory settings from CWM it freezes.. Any ideas?
Kinda strange i think! Guess i have to try install a new ROM via Odin but then I need help from one of you to guide me where to start
Thanks for all help!
That's really weird. It's almost like your file system got corrupted or something.
Here's a good place to start for the recovery process

I would try to flash newer or different recovery via Odin at first.

Sounds logical. Can you point me to a thread with a recovery to use? And also a guide maybe so i use Odin correct. I have used Odin, but that is a long time ago
Try search forums
Use the official recovery from CWM only, here: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager . If you are using ROM manager, just download it and flash recovery from via ROM manager. If not, use Odin. It's easy, turn tablet into download mode, start Odin, click PDA, choose the file with recovery and press start. For using Odin you will need recovery in .tar package, so here you are http://dl.dropbox.com/u/23527491/recovery.tar.md5 ...Touch recovery 5.8.3.1

Odin failures

Hello all
I have been playing with a variety of 4.1.2 ROMS via CWM
at times in between I have wanted to flash a ROM via Odin (the carrier brand that originally came with the phone) to sort of get back to a start point
however even though odin seems to indicate it installed the ROM after reboot I get stuck on the samsung splash screen
if I then go for another CWM ROM all seems to work.
what might I be doing incorrectly?
After... Or before... Flashing with Odin, wipe data and cache in recovery. Be sure if youre doing it on stock recovery to avoid superbrick bug kernels.
Or... Flash with 512 pit. Will do the trick. Cheers!

Flashed CWM with ROM manger now cannot leave cwm

Hey guys, my friend decided to flash a custom rom, asked me for help, so I told him to get rom manager and install cwm first.
He was rooted already, not long after telling him. To use rom manager to get cwm, he messages me telling me he is stuck cwm, it seems that every time he turns in the phone or restarts he cannot leave cwm at all, he also claims he cannot get into download mode, keeps taking him to cwm.
I got him to and re flash cwm via cwm, but it gave him an error.
Has anyone heard of getting stuck in cwm before??
Latest version for i9300

Get your friend to read the stickies in general, before he flashes anything else and destroys his phone.
Follow the guide to restoring to fully stock using odin on his pc, it might enable the phone to boot normally.
