Ubuntu 13.10 Touch Preview Builds - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

guys if you want to test new builds of ubuntu yourself then all you need to do is download the latest build from here ---> http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch-preview/daily-preinstalled/current/

the link says 404 not found

Does this work on xperia z ultra and if so which files do you flash
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Only Nexuses are supported, so do not flash anything. We have to port it ourselves If we want it.

And unfortunately it still uses cm10.1 device trees so with 10.2 which we have it's a pain in the ass.. I've tried it but there were so much errors that kep coming while compiling so I decided to stop it for now.

Super Stamina in JB - Discussion about porting

Guys, i just saw a review of the new stamina mode in JB on Xperia Z. It has some very interesting features and many ways to be configured to save battery life. Not like the one in ICS where you cant change anything.
I was wondering - is there any chance this to be ported to ICS for our NovaThor devices? It will be very very nice.
Devs, what you think?
If you can extract the app from the Xperia Z rom then I will try it!
Actually, Stamina mode presented in Xperia P JB leaved rom. So you can take apk from there or wait for JB

Kernel from Sony has support for Super Stamina Mode (https://github.com/CyanogenMod/sony-kernel-u8500/blob/ics/arch/arm/mach-ux500/sony_ssm.c) but it's not compiled. If you want i can upload kernel for ics with Super Stamina support

Hahaha, this is very strange. That means that if someone here make it work for us - is a better developer.
Can someone compile the kernel with the support for stamina mode? If so then I could easily port it! We only have to add the stamina mode service in the ramdisk! That would however require unlocking the bootloader! But we could use an unused service so that unlocking isn't needed! Need more help from someone who knows better on compiling kernels

[ROM] Cyanogenmod 10.1 for P769 | OC and UV (Source)

Here is Pinoyto's source for CM10.1 on the P769. Please thank him as he was kind enough to share with us.
Please also create mirrors as my dropbox account gets hammered daily and downloads get blocked.
Let's get started on some custom roms(MIUI please!) and CM fixes.

Not a problem. Anything I can do to help the community and keep development on our phones alive.
If I'm not top busy today I'll set up a git for everything. I'm no programmer by any means but it may prove useful to someone else.
To anyone who IS a dev, paranoid android open sourced their holo notifications.. Would be great to merge that with our CM.
Edit:
Here's a GIT repo.

Thanks so much! I threw out the hard drive my Ubuntu build was on BC it was going out. Was wondering wth happened to my build lol. I'm currently making space on my 500gb HD for Ubuntu. Edit .... these bases are based off the p760? I got paranoid loaded on Ubuntu but if these are based off the 760 I think I will just make my own device tree. Either way I should have a test build out next week, I'm headed out of town tomorrow.

Porting to e970 will be easier then ls970. We can boot mako kernels n Roms. Just device specific changes need to be made like captive keys sd-card ect.
The obvious is the asserts and partions need to be changed in the update zip.

Either way the ls970 won't have CDMA working for now, so I haven't really pursued it. I'll look into fixing ofono though.

So if you have it running, is there a flashable zip that I can use already? I've wanted to try Ubuntu Touch for so long! Once it's ready, I'd love to try it. Is there any special steps as well? TWRP works?
So let me see if I understand this:
Download saucy-preinstalled-touch-armel+mako.zip and saucy-preinstalled-touch-armhf.zip from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch/daily-preinstalled/current/
Remove asserts in one (or both?) of the zips in the file located at meta-inf/google/android/updater-script
Flash armel+mako.zip first, then touch-armhf.zip second
Reboot and it should work?

No android apps do not work. No idea on the rest. I would think most of those would work but maybe not MMS. No way for me to test though.

If I wanted to port it to the E970, could I just use our device tree for android, and modify the needed flags for it to compile correctly? I think that would work...

I've tried to remove assets but I keep getting error in update-binary, so I replaced the binary with one from a CM rom for our phone, and same error. I tried to change the assets from mako to geeb but still no luck
I barely messed with Ubuntu Touch during my short time on the N4 conversion. My question is: Are the features of desktop Ubuntu available on Touch? If so, I absolutely love Ubuntu and would definitely enjoy this. Haven't done too much research on it so I apologize if it's a dumb question.

It used to be cm with Ubuntu running (chrooted) on top, then they flipped it, so it's Ubuntu running with only the necessary services from cm such as surface flinger (for display rendering) and rild (for radio).

No, he mean pure Android Kitkat 4.4 Rom, not Cyanogenmod (with no CM's toys ). It will faster.
It's kinda work . It's preferrable to wait and then build all aosp and his variants ,slimkat, purity etc
