Much much less, almost none when not on wifi. No random reboots or lags / crashes or whatever when not on wifi.

Cheers. Also what programs are running when you turn on wifi? Google services? Updates? Are you custom ROM? Overclocked?

I saw both google services and updates service running in the background when wifi is on / off. No custom rom, no overclocks, tweaks or whatever. I tried v6 supercharging, cwm, root etc etc but nothing worked. On 100% stock now.

[Q] Why wifi is turning off when screen turns off?

Hi,
I am using a samsung galaxy s2 I9100 phone and recently updated to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 XXLS8. My problem is that when I turn my screen off or it turns off automatically, the wifi network is off. Wifi duing sleep is turned to always on in settings but doesnt seem like working. If im chatting and until someone replies the screen turns off, I wnt receive any notifications until I turn it on to check manually. Same applies for email. When i turn the screen on, it will show wifi now connected. This was not a problem on ICS as even though the screen was off, I would receive notifications and email as it is sent.
So can u please suggest a solution and also I dont want to go back to ICS
Thanks
Read here how to go from JB back to ICS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951251.

Thx for your reply but as i said i dnt want to downgrade from Jelly Bean as i waited long to have it and it works well. The only prob being that wifi issue. I fink this problem should be solved instead. Anyone having the same issue?

Try to use a nuke script on the device and reflash JB.
Don't forget to backup everything.
Sent from my digital submersible hovercraft.
Whats a nuke script and how to do that? And also do i install the same version of JB again or search for another one as this one has a wifi problem. I downloaded it and installed via Odin.

How to use? Read inside same thread.
Reflash JB just like you flashed it the first time.

Are you guys using any battery saving app? Are you using stock Rom or any custom Rom? Please provide these data along with your question. Without these it's difficult to figure out the problem for any expert.

Same problem here with stock rom, no battery saver apps, and battery saving not active in the settings.
Upgraded to JB with Kies, factory reset afterwards.

Your kernel can turn the wi-fi off when the screen is off. I think it's a kernel issue.
No news about this issue? Did anyone try with XWLSN?

Finally I fixed our problem about wifi. I know you will consider me a stupid, because my solution is related to something we decide to exclude from the possible causes of our wifi issue, but... The problem is fixable managing the router settings! I have a b/g/n modem-router... When it works in b/g/n mode the wifi issue appears... If it works only in b/g mode it disappears! I had exactly the same problem with a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, and the solution I found for S2 works for it too... I hope this can helps you too.
Let me know if you fixed or not...
Ps: I actually am on the stock XWLSD...

[Help] Wi-Fi will not turning off

Hi,
I'm not sure if this is correct thread, but I have strange problem with wi-fi. Few days ago I do a clean install of PA 3,99 RC2 but since yesterday I have strange issue because even if wi-fi is switched off in battery usage screen is still visible as active.
If it's important I'm on Googy max kernel.
Any ideas?

In WI-FI options turn off "scan always enabled" or similar.

LG G2 Kitkat (German Rls) Rootet - Removeable stuff / Tuning

Hi,
Now that we have the Vodafone Release / Kitkat *rootable*, let's talk about Removeable / tuning things
I currently have removed the whole Vodafone Crap (disabled or uninstalled)
Also some other things that i dont need ....
After a reboot i have 1,05gb Ram free ......
I started some apps and then let it layin around to test the usage with Wakelock Detector:
I'am really impressed since Kitkat for now.....
Ok what i have removed;
System/apps/bootup : everything, expect LGTaskManager.apg
system/Preload/LG : everything
system/vendor/carrier : everything
system/vendor/carrier/system : everything (can't remember what was here ....)
here are screens from what i have frozen with titanium backup:
i also disabled the MLT stuff like in JB before
So why not list what you removed/froze?
change dpi!?
is there any way to change the dpi? i tried with build prop editor but had no luck
since i had my phone on 380dpi... 480 is way too big for me

I am thinking about trying a Factory Reset in stock recovery to maybe fix it, but that wipes your internal storage right?

I don't think it's going to fix it. I've already reflashed KitKat 3 times (different kdzs, zips), done hard reset, but BT wakelock still exists...
& yes, it wipes your internal storage.

Is the app running in the background? Is wifi killing these apps when you exit them? Come on people! It litterally says in the top of the forum, give as much information as possible and not as little.

Device Freezing & Device Crashing (Two different devices)

Hi,
My Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 are running the latest "Stock" Android Lollipop with latest SuperSu & Latest Xposed, I have 20~ odd modules and the same apps that were on my devices when they were both on Marshmellow on which neither of the devices were having issues.
- My Nexus 4 randomly turns off and randomly reboots.
- My Nexus 10 randomly freezes, but only the touchscreen. The actual applications still work fine in the background because if a program is running on screen like a youtube video for example, it will still continue to play.
As far as I can see there is no pattern to the issues, how can I correctly see the necessary logs to try and find out what is causing the issues?
Thanks
I experience this problem always. As far as I can see the only issue is xposed try to uninstall xposed and clear davrik and see the results
