LG G2 Kitkat (German Rls) Rootet - Removeable stuff / Tuning - G2 General

Hi,
Now that we have the Vodafone Release / Kitkat *rootable*, let's talk about Removeable / tuning things
I currently have removed the whole Vodafone Crap (disabled or uninstalled)
Also some other things that i dont need ....
After a reboot i have 1,05gb Ram free ......
I started some apps and then let it layin around to test the usage with Wakelock Detector:
I'am really impressed since Kitkat for now.....
Ok what i have removed;
System/apps/bootup : everything, expect LGTaskManager.apg
system/Preload/LG : everything
system/vendor/carrier : everything
system/vendor/carrier/system : everything (can't remember what was here ....)
here are screens from what i have frozen with titanium backup:
i also disabled the MLT stuff like in JB before

So why not list what you removed/froze?

change dpi!?
is there any way to change the dpi? i tried with build prop editor but had no luck
since i had my phone on 380dpi... 480 is way too big for me

Try textdroider app from play store. It changes the dpi of your phone

i think we can do nearly anything what we have done before with jb, like smaller navbar mod and such ..... i mod it later,
hopefully that xposed will arive soon ......

Yeah if someone finds out how to shrink nav bar in build prop or anything let us know

I don't think it's going to fix it. I've already reflashed KitKat 3 times (different kdzs, zips), done hard reset, but BT wakelock still exists...
& yes, it wipes your internal storage.

[Q] Launcher performance

Am I the only one that is sometimes seeing major lag when an app closes and the launcher redraws? In by case it is sometimes over a second.
Well known issue that has been mentioned already in numerous threads. I use SS launcher so don't have that problem.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
the stock launcher will not lag on its own, check for background cpu utilization with os monitor app and disable those apps .

Is LF2 only through Kies? I got the OTA update to LF1, and that's all the OTA updater says is available. Or it's just VodaGroan being rubbish as usual.

Been looking in the forum and found this issue under another heading. I fixed it by rooting and changing the davlik VM heap size from 256 to 128mb. How did Samsung manage to screw this up?

Another thing to consider is whether you've got power saving on or off? If it's on and CPU power saving is turned on, the CPU runs at 800mhz rather than 1400mhz. This will show a noticeable difference in smoothness.

i just wanna share how i got rid of the lag and home respawn issue on my sgs3... i'm not saying it is a fix but these are the only things i did that work for me... there is no harm in trying...
1. disable double tap home button to activate s voice.
2. disable s voice using application manager
3. reboot... and after 3 days, no lag or whatsoever... but there was always the home respawn thing when i'm running a lot of apps on background...
4. uninstall facebook app... this app seems to eat most of the memory... reboot... now, i don't need to close any program running thru task manager... i check it and see 12 apps running but never had a respawn.. all is well now... i don't even think of rooting flashing a rom now... everything just seems to be running so well...
**i know some of you would say that it's not an option to uninstall FB app, i for myself would love to use it but i'd rather have a lag and respawn free sgs3 and use the FB desktop mode... but then again...that's just me...

Something strange happened tonight.. Now it seems slower

Hey everyone,
I have a unlocked O2 phone it seems, on Monday I tried rom'ing it to Jelly bean.. I found a decent rom from the Internet and went ahead with the firmware update. The firmware turned out to be the most basic of basic jelly bean builds... I couldn't even sign in with my Google account...? So I wanted to restore it.
I found another rom and rooted it first etc but after this one installed it kept looking the Samsung start up logo.. Looked up the symptoms and it seems a mild form of bricked. So I went into recover mode and did a data wipe and restore.
When it restored it booted up and now I had jelly beans with all my old settings and it even started to download my apps etc. Great I thought just what I wanted but I have no idea how it's done this.
Anyways... Been playing on it for about an hour now and it seems dead slow. I've cleared the cache and cleared all recent apps and I'm running at 86% ram capacity it seems. Is this normal when no apps are open? Opening my contacts seems to take a good second or two to open. It never did this on ics.
Any ideas anyone? I've attached a screen shot for illustration.
Thank you in advance.

No.
Do not use megawipe, superwipe or bullish*t-stupidwipe.
They are not necessary, juts wipe cache, dalvik and system before flashing a ROM.
That is all.

Get rid of that damn monitoring app, don't use task killers or any other pointless apps.

My phone shows 684/833MB RAM but it is very smooth. I let Android do the memory management in my phone. Don't bother myself with shutting down any apps or getting more 'Juice' out of my phone.
Running LJ4 version.

YEs, it is normal.
The motto with Android is that "unused RAM is wasted RAM"
The way Android manages RAM has nothing to do with how we are used to see RAM with PCs, since PCs don't cache apps that are not running.
In Android, the apps are cached so they are easier to access the next time you need them. This is specially useful for apps like Contacts, Dialer, etc. Remember that everything in Android is an application.
My phone yesterday had only 80Mb free and yet it was quite snappy, very responsive.
So, in short forget about RAM in Android devices. We gotta get rid of the old paradigm of how RAM works in a tradicional PC.
I want something that feels a bit quicker, can anyone recommend a nice rom that's like stock but lighter? My current model shown below...

I have the same symptoms with stock JB. I updated my G3 via Kies. Any ideas how to speed it up without wiping everything?
You can try Foxhound Rom Essentials Version which has a lot of things removed that aren't needed (Like S Voice, Samsung Apps, Bloatware etc). There's also Hyper Light rom (I think). Have a look in the rom section and look for roms that mention the word light.
I've got a awesome rom installed now... No Samsung crap.
Thanks for all the help peeps.

how to:whitelist app

Hi guys !
how can i put in the whitelist some app ? sometimes i hate android memory killer;in this way i ll be able to choose when that app has to be closed.
I hope i was clear..thanks for the help
Try Xposed framework, search it around XDA

Unless its contacts / phone. Not even Xposed works with that well.
i read on xda some guide, these saying to add some strings in build.prop..i tried but nothing..
with framework like jkay and xposed i can lock app in memory,my aim is to find a way for locking app with the original framework. Is it possible guys ? thanks
I'm curious: why?
in this way i can put sms app in whitelist, so android memory killer never kills sms app=no lags because it remains in memory

[Q] Opinions needed.

Hey guys.
I'm on a dilemma for the past couple of days.
I'm currently on a stock 5.1.1 rom, rooted with some tweaks and mods including xposed framework and androplus kernel for example.
Performance is great and battery life is even better, I get easily 5-6 screen on time.
I've seen that marshmallow is out, and I'm thinking long and hard whether to update or not.
Mostly thinking about the ExistenZ rom since it has a lot of nice features.
TL;DR:
My questions are:
Should I update to 6.0?
Is 6.0 good for everyday usage?
Any experience to share you 6.0 users?
Anything would be appreciated.
Thanks and have a nice day.
Marshmallow stock rom is actually quite wonderful in my opinion

I did backup and restore.
I've had major issues with MM until now, but I fixed them, did a clean install and used the bootloop fix and now it seems to work nicely.
Power off also works as well, using ultraslim rom .570 .
