Wireless Camera Control - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Hi guys, just ordered this from eBay. Its a wireless camera control for our Samsung devices. Just plug the receiver to the headphone jack and its ready to go. 10 meters range which is quite good and 6 mnths battery life using CR2023 battery. It does however requires Camera360 to operate but I'll try with something else. Wait till it arrives and I'll give a full review.
Heres how it looks like.

I bought one set here, the AB Shutter for Samsung Galaxy (with Tripod),
http://shop.brando.com/AB-Shutter-for-Samsung-Galaxy_p09904c1598d66.html
I bought with the tripod because it can let me take the picture in any angle freely,
the tripod is firm and nice and the AB Shutter working smoothly, nice!

I'm guessing it works the same was as taking a photo using a set of headphones with inline mic? Not sure if this is really worth it for phone photography

I can get with the tripod for less than $20 on eBay but I dislike the tripod.. , bought the tripod separately from other seller.

i think uses the same method like using your voice to snap a picture?

damn I need a way that can use the stock camera it MUST use the stock camera because I want to build and underwater housing for it so I can shoot 4k underwater.

i think you could use the waterproof pouch and increase the touch sensitivity

Proporta Leather Style Case

I was looking for a reasonably priced case that I could quickly remove the tablet from and could act as a stand for watching videos on the plane/train.
This ticks most of the boxes. See pictures below:

Easy access to ports
Charging port is fully accessible
When in full profile stand the tablet doesn't rotate (as it is effectively upside down).
As you can see it is really easy to open the top and grab the tablet
Pros
- Decent price (£30 in the UK)
- All ports seem accessible (there is a whole for the the IR but I have not tested)
- Very easy to get the tablet in/out, probably about 5 seconds
- No need to use Velcro strips
- Magnetic closure
Cons
- A little bulky
- Can only use as a stand if in the low profile setting when set as a full stand it looks great but the tablet is effectively upside down and apps don't rotate.
Thanks for the review! I'm still waiting on a case I can use my dock with...
I recommend luvtab from amazon. Better i.e. not upside-down stand, cheaper, cutout for infrared larger, front camera cutout includes light sensor.

I've got a case from ebay -$15.99.

There is no hole for IR but if you have a scissors it is not a problem.
Other than that, pretty good. Protects the tab and works as a stand in 3 positions.

macro mode ?

Hi all .. first time i have chance to play around with the camera today.. so far im impressed ! the only thing i couldn't seem to find is the macro mode ? has the camera actually got a dedicated macro mode ? if so could someone explain how to enter into it for me . thanks in advance :good:
Just stick in auto and take your close up shots. It picks up macro flawlessly and does a fantastic job.

Attached is a crop of a photo of a wasp beetle I saw on our carpet. Picture was in auto mode. The beetle is about 12mm long. If you want, I'll drop the original on Dropbox and post a link.

Leaf in garden, which camera has given a nice bokah effect.
Citreon symbol from steering wheel in car.
Both in auto and camera picked up macro for both of them.

The phone automatically switched to macro mode when getting close (you can see the word "Macro" followed by the flower icon), but it seems there are distance limitations. The attached picture was taken at approx 2 inches (5cm) away. Is there a way to get better focus (aside from an aftermarket macro lens attachment)?

Are you using the wide angle camera, the front camera or the main camera?? The main camera is 16MP and the other 2 are only 8MP.
It does look like you are using the wide angle camera here so the image wont be as good
Hi fellow Austrian
As the G5's cameras support the Camera2 API, you might wanna try manual mode. Using it, you are able to manually set ISO, shutter speed, white balancing and focus, while the last two parameters still contain an "AUTO" function. You can turn it on in the overflow menu.
Here are some helpful pages that helped me
- ISO/shutter speed
- ISO/shutter speed cheat sheet
-White balance
~Firefrost
That's the worst contrast I've seen in a while. My first thought was that maybe the lens is dirty?
@Seansmit17 yes im using wide angel but if i dont use it still pictures looks like 8 bit. i will post more pics tomorrow.
@Firefrost Servus i will try it thanks but i want to use simple mode.
@ torax242 no its not.
Still same, is this looks like a hardware problem? Should i send it back? There is no settings or something.
sent back to amazon.... end

Disable OIS Samsung S9

Is there any way to disable the optical image stabilization on an Android device? Preferably S9 as that's what I'm using, not sure if this is a thing that can be done on rooted Android devices?
I'm using it with a full frame fisheye lens as an action cam (like GoPro) with a chest harness and so far it works great, I think the quality is a lot better than GoPro (especially at night) and the lens is wider too, but there's one kind of big problem because it is using OIS and it was not designed for bigger shakes it actually ruins the image for a split second, it seems the OIS shifts the lens out of focus whenever the phone is shaked a bit hard - you can test this with your phone by shaking it forward-up-down and then playing the video back frame by frame, it is very noticeable anyway.
So what I was hoping is that by disabling the OIS (it seems to be controlled electronically and tries to compensate for the shake) it could hopefully maybe fix this, although I'm not very optimistic by this, there are moving parts in the hardware but what I noticed is that if I shake the phone without the camera app open, the camera makes more noise/moves more versus when the camera app is open, so maybe just maybe there is a way to mod the electronic part to hold it into place all the time?
Here is a gif of an example of what happens when you shake the phone, please note that this is not motion blur, but it is actually out of focus when that happens, it is exactly the same result whether I use it in very bright lightning conditions or low.

I was really happy with the results with this phone and the fact that you can edit and share content right away, would be great to solve this problem! By the way I'm using it with a Blackeye Pro Fisheye G4 lens if anyone is curious.

P20 pro lens cap/protector

Hi everyone.
So i just got my hands on p20 pro, 2nd hand (pre-loved, as some socialites call it ?), and so far i'm loving it.
I'm considering of installing a physical lens protector cap, like this one:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
but i noticed it doesn't have holes in between 2 top lenses, where there should be an autofocus laser transmitter-receiver set.
I tried looking up more info on how the laser autofocus works and affects the process of taking picture, but so far found none. So I thought of asking about it here.
So my question is, how useful is the laser autofocus, and what will happen if I cover it with the lens cap? Will the camera stop working (like if I cover the second camera, the phone says, 'please don't cover the lens), or the autofocus speed slows down, or maybe no changes at all?
Also, why is there no HDR mode? Is the night mode essentially means HDR mode?
Thank you in advance.
Laser autofocus helps a lot with focusing and keeping the focus on moving objects
The HDR mode is actually VIVID/SMOOTH in the tiny box i think

Hi, sorry for the (very) late reply.
Ah okay, I thought so too (that covering the lasers would hinder in AF ability), so I went with a glass cover instead for the cameras.
Thank you very much.
