Hello everyone,
I could not find an answer to unbrick my android smart tv player, so I wanted to ask you guys in this forum for help.
The player does not boot I believe since ther is no picture on the screen and it does not show any reaction on inputs from the remote (usually the LED on the front blinks at input). Only the power button on the remote works and turns the device on and off. Thats it
I found several solution to unbrick Android Players which have a hidden button behind the AV jack, but those are different models that have different ports. I also tried holding down Vol- Home and Power on the remote to get into recovery, but it doesn't work. I attached pictures of my device.
Is there a way to boot into recovery using USB or SD Card. The dievice has 2 USBs and a SD Card slot.
Or any other way to unbrick or factory reset it.
Thanks so much!
Does anyone have experience with this device
Hi,
Does anyone have experience with this kind of device.
I'm still searching the web for any infos of this device.
Did someone alredy experiment with this box? I also tryed to find different firmware as well.
Its form some Chinese manufacturer. They sent me a new firmware but it didnt work unfortunately.
I thought there would be a way similar to cell phones, to just put a new custom ROM on the device?
Please help!
Thanks!
Now I got some idea what kind of device it is, and some others have troubles too.
I found this thread with the unsolved problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50374750
Perhaps someone can help.
Thanks

I have tried the same steps in the video here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwUPYHnOIQU
Basically with the power plugged into the tablet multi touch is perfect. but without the power adapter plugged in there are issues, which you will see in my video. Its hard to explain. But i've had this issue on Calkulins+Clems v4 and Vegan 5.1.1
Please could someone also test this to see if its just my tablet, this way I know i need to send it back to viewsonic for a replacement while its under warranty.
Any help is appreciated.
Using BC and seem the same behavior - the "Fix Me" re calibration app does not help but I was unaware of the plug in fix.
I'm thinking in the possibility of use an Android tablet to develop an HMI interface to control electrical devices.
One of the problems it's that the devices could be long periods of time stored or simply off, so it will be needed to turn off the tablet via software when the device is Off.
The question if it's possible via an Android App/custom ROM/utilizing root/etc to force the Android device turn on when the charger it's connected?, an not enter with the typical battery charging screen.
Hopping that somebody can know the answer because I couldn't find something in the forums right now.
Well I am not sure but I think that you can find a custom rom that has that feature preloaded and you can develop on that platform.
Somebody known of an ROM that could have that funtionality, or somebody that develop an ROM if it could be possible to add that in android or the charging screen can't be hacked?
For the sake of completion, I have found that it's possible turn on an android device using adb, with the command:
Code:
./adb reboot
But that will imply to build the adb app in a microcontroller connected to the USB port. Certanly it will be more easy if it could be activated in a ROM but it may be impossible to do, somebody has information on that?

I have the same issue as the OP i need my tablet to come on when power is connected. (galaxy tab 2 (7) ) does anyone have any other suggestions?
I have been looking for a solution for very long. There still is no one who has guaranteed to invest time in this project. I have, however, come across a few android models which have same or similar features built in their ROM.
For example: Sony Ericsson X10 Mini does exactly what we are looking for. It turns on android OS when the charger is connected.
There are other generic android devices which perform a similar task. There is a feature in such devices namely "Schedule On/Off" which turns the phone on/off at a pre defined time of the day. A handful of devices that I have come across are Spice MI 270 and Micromax A60. There are a lot many such devices available in the market.
Do not forget to post the solution when u get one.

there was an app made by chainfire called Nomoarpowah that would boot the tablet when charging and you could touch the screen to turn on the device, i sent him a few messages over the last couple of months but no reply and it looks like he's stopped development on it.
so there is a way, i don't have the knowledge to do it myself though.
In Android 4.2 the feature is already there

Hello everyone,
I dont know if there is anyone who can help me out, as I've seen quite a few posts about this subject already.. but none worked for me.
What happened: Last night when I set my alarm I got an update from Nokia and I accepted the install, when the phone rebooted it was spinning gyros and then the sad face.
What I've tried: Hard Reset(Volume Down + Power + Camera), Soft Reset(Volume Down + Power) - tried a few tricks where I had to connect the phone to my PC but I had no luck there as my phone does not seem to want to make contact with my pc.
I've made a small video where I demonstrated the resets and all. notice the weird line at ~0.12. Here an image. This is not just on the film it happens pretty often.
after youtube dot com /watch?v=_UTEanWOS4w&feature=youtu.be

Please,
If there is anyone out there who knows how to approach this situation, i'd be REALLY thankful. Any more info needed?

Use Nokia Care Suite recovery option. It'll re-flash the latest ROM for your phone.

Dear community! I would be very glad if you could give me any assistance at reviving my Elephone Trunk(Snapdragon 410).
Today, suddenly, as I was using it, it just blanked out. I was using CM12 with xposed, worked perfectly untill now. No way to turn it on, tried this tutorial(unfortunately just for MTK devices):
youtube. com/watch?v=A3TmXtOA0IA
Windows does`t find the phone, no matter what(tried pressing volume buttons and plugging in the usb cable...). I am stuck at the point, where I wanted to do the "wire trick", but I can`t find the GND(ground) contact point to try to bridge it with the right contact on the motherboard, which would then supposedly trigger the phone recognition in Windows.
Here is the photo of the motherboard:
tinypic.com /r/ou4ljb/9
Any ideas which two contact points I should try to bridge?
Any help greatly appreciated!
P.S. since I just registered, I am unfortunately not allowed to post the links properly...
Dear forum/friends
I have the subject Android TV box and I was very pleased since yesterday.
I installed a Netflix APK , and though it start working flawlessly, after I turn the box off, the signal could not be detected .
I tried various TV's, and different HDMI cables but nothing.
It seems that it starts properly but can not be recognized from the tv.
I tried also to connect it through a PC but nothing again.
I am not sure that is related to The APK installation but it started behave like this right after I tried this program.
I suspect that the resolution has changed and this is the reason for the disfunction.
Is there any way to set it to the factory settings.
Your assistance is highly appreciated
Thanks in advance.
I still have not found a solution , neither a helpful advice has arrived.
Does anyone know if there's a way to manually reset/reboot the device? Let's say through hidden features in the remote control or any button from the device itself.
Any idea is more than welcome.
Thanks again
