Updating to Dogg Rom v4.3 - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

I come from 4.2 pre-rooted deodexed rom. Can I just flash the zip file of Dogg Rom v4.3 from recovery or do I have to flash. 290 FTF first?
Thanks

I posted it here cause apparently after 3 years of being on XDA, I can't post in developer's section, because I never had anything to ask!

I have not tried from 4.2 stock, but no harm in trying. Just have the latest flashtool ready and a 290 .ftf. You do have an unlocked bootloader as well?

Yes, but I don't have a good Internet at the moment so I wanted to skip the download of FTF

@hamdogg ?
you may have to flash the boot.img from the .zip to get a working recovery? read post 3 of DogGrom!
If it all goes to pot you will want a ftf to flash to get a working phone again... and alwar use protection - if have a backup

Hi all...
umm yes it should work. I've not tried flashing ontop of 4.2.2.... but its a sony base, and the most important files will be replaced when you flash the new ROM...
But like blue said... if it doesn't work then you'll need to
1- flash the .290 FTF
2- then recovery, and then
3 -doggROM..

[Q] Help me the Custom rom don't work on my Neo.

I have my Neo from a few months and I'm so proud of it. But, in the lasts week, I'm excited to receive the ICS update, so I can't wait and I tried to flash some custom rom on my NEO. First of all I have the .42 firmware stock with root and CWM installed with bootloader locked.
Before i tried to flash a custom Rom, I have unlocked the bootloader. And everything going well, but I try to flash 2 different Custom Rom both with the same result: in the reboot after the flash the NEo is stucked on the Sony Ericsson boot logo animation for an indefinite time, and i don't do nothing except to unplug the battery. So i return to the stock rom using flashtool.
But I really want to tried this custom rom based on ICS, anyone can hellp me?

I think his problem is that he didn't wipe/format something before flashing zip.
Old baseband is causing problems with ending calls

No brother!!! I have the same experience!!! But then I flashed another time and things went well
Sent from my MT11i using Tapatalk 2
i think the problem is causing because ur r flashing ICS custom rom directly on GB... flash stock ICS ftf file using flashtool, flash any custom kernel in fastboot mode using flashtool suitable for the ROM u want to flash (custom kernels has built in CWM), then goto CWM, wipe everything, flash the ROM, done... now that should work..
goto Settings > about phone > baseband to check the baseband's version
Guys a year passed by since that question was asked !

[MINIPRO] How to update to ICS?

Since its 24, only days away from the awaited ICS update. I am ver confused on how to revert back to stock rom/kernel and relocking bootloader. And with those problems I cannot use SEUS and PCC, so what do I need to do?
Flash stock rom then kernel then relock bootloader? Then update to ICS?
Is that the right arrangement? Or did I missed anything?
And how about the baseband?
Im really confused.
Please help and links to where I can download those things
Thank YOU!
Install stock firmware from a complete .ftf file, it includes proper baseband, kernel etc.
To download and install it, read my tutorial, link in signature.
Go to a local service shop and upload the stock rom withe setool service software.

as far i knw, the ftf files already include the kernel. full wipe > flash ftf through flashtool > relock bootloader, YOU'RE DONE!

Okay, so i guess you jumped directly from 532 or 257 to CM. You should be at 290 or later so you get the new baseband, then flash CM.

You need to flash again a
FTF [512 NUT] (Torrent Download)
then update to a
.290 or a .136 Rom,
then you can flash CM.

Yes it will work fine on a c6806. There is a sticky thread in the general section that will give you a full run down on what to do, but it boils down to the two steps above.

The 532 one by [NUT] will restore the lost IMEI (there are other ways to do it but flashing that FTF is as simple as it can get)
the .290/.136/.757 is to bring you back to the newer firmware that is needed by the newer ROMs. If you are going to flash a 4.3 based ROM then use .290 or .136, if you are going to use a 4.4 ROM (or if you just want the latest Sony release) then flash the .757 FTF

In one of your other posts you mention relocking the BL? It has to be unlocked.
Also if you are on a 6802 you have to be coming off a c6833 firmware for some reason, this is the most likely I think

then flash the boot.img in the CM zip (use flashtool and put the phone into fastboot)
then flash the CM zip (from recovery installed in step 2)

[Q] No Signal in Lollipop D6502, any way to fix?

Hey, so I was impatient of waiting for Lollipop on D6502, so I went to XperiaBlog and saw some people asking if they can flash the D6503 FTF to D6502, they said it was okay but your phone is from now on D6503 and you won't have 4G, but everything else will work. So I flashed it, my phone worked perfectly, only that I can't get a signal on my phone. WiFi works fine but cellular network has no signal. I am aware that there is a zip to flash to fix the modem issues on D6502, but that requires recovery and I haven't rooted to gain recovery nor will I plan to. Is there any way without rooting to flash the D6502 modem zip? I just cant stand it because without cellular the whole name called "phone" is just diminished. Thanks =)

That does not really help. Surely there has to be a way.
I forgot to mention I DID download the baseband patch but the D6503 ROM had only .sin and .ta files, while the patch had multiple folders and files with .b00, .b01, etc.
Is there a way to put the patch in the baseband folder then flash the ROM again? Thanks =)

There is a way root, install recovery and flash the zip.
If you don't want to that you could try and unpack the ftf, open the ftf replace the files and repack the ftf. I have no idea if that possible though. Google it.
Install some custom kernel that has recovery (that won't allow you to boot lollipop), flash the fix (eventually also root your device) , flash the original lollipop kernel and you should be done.

Couldn't I just wait though for the D6502 ftf for Lollipop to come and flash it? Would that fix the baseband problem?
If you're already on lollipop you won't get any update soon, only if you downgrade back to kitkat.

Yeah sure, that'd work. Just make sure it's a clean flash. (Everything deleted on internal sd)
