no latest samsung touchwiz rom is 4.3
4.4.2 is only given by cm11 or omnirom, but there is no touchwiz
and please search first. if there would be such an update there would be something written for example in general section

Thanks! I've flashed SuperNexus, it's extremely fast but I feel that the S3 lost tons of features. I wish there would be such a beautiful UI with many feature and very lightweight like this!

Well, you can change number in build.prop
Most 4.4 changes won't be visible under TW anyway

With the amount of bugs kitkat hardly has any benefits. If your looking for feature filled or lightweight roms you can turn your attention towards the S4 based roms like Glamour S4 or S4 Revolution. They will amaze you but are large in size. The latest SmartDroid rom is new but is very light in size, has the Samsung features you love and even has a themeing system, although its buggy in the new version you can customize your icon packs, themes, and status bar to kitat/xperia/sense etc styles. Do give it a try.

Hi friend,
try my Rom, but is AOKP 4.3.1 BASED with Touchwiz, stable and power....[ROM][11/01/14]QUASARKAT V.4_Great Battery_MOTO X Camera_stable_Smooth_online

Glad i could help

I'm very happy with my 4.3 NeatRom- lite touchwiz rom with nice configuration that lets you select things you want to keep from Samsung/Google, and it also have a lot of compatible modes that give you nice Kitkat touch and feel.

[Q] Differences between AOPS and Samsung based ROMs

I have been using CM based ROMs for a year, but now I am curious about the Samsung based ROMs (Rooted, deodexed, without bloatware and such) I have read the FAQ thread, but it does not offer me a proper explanation about the differences between CM and Samsung. Only that Samsung ROMs are "smoother". So I am asking in this thread for a wider explanation and to solve some questions I have:
-Why are there more Samsung ROMs than AOSP? Sure that the CM ROMs get more updated, and that people here love open sourcing, but I am curious about this fact.
-Are AOSP ROMs more suited for a "liberated" device? Samsung has closed the hardware sources of the GS3, and thats why the AOSP devs can not release a full working AOSP ROM. At least until Samsung decides to release the sources...
-Also, the Samsung based development is depending on the official updates provided by Samsung right? So the day Samsung drops the service, should we use AOSP instead?
-What is the cuality of a Samsung based ROM? Its much better that the official Touchwiz ROM?
-Its true that the Samsung ROMs have a much better sound than the CM ROMs, or it is vice versa? I am quite an audiophile, so this point interests me.
Lastly, I would like that you could solve me a question. One day, I changed from a CM10.1 ROM to a custom 4.1.2. When I did this, I could not use the Google Backup on my apps, and, for example, I could not recover the Whatsapp conversations. Moreover, I could not access to the SD card through the File Explorer in that ROM. So, is this a common compatibility problem between AOPS and Touchwiz or it is more of a ROM issue?

They're easy to create, plenty of updated versions from samsung and a lot of people prefer them

Question doesn't make sense. IMHO, there are more useful and configurable settings in aosp. Downfall of closed sources are camera quality and possibly battery life

Yes we need rom bases and kernel source code from samsung. Once samsung drop kernel source for the s3, aosp development will slow down considerably

What? If you mean quality,.its much the same with some tweaks to enhance performance, user experience etc. If you're rooted and not using a samsung based custom rom, you're missing out

Apparently but I've not noticed a difference. I listen to a lot of music and am completely satisfied. That said, if there is a difference - it would be understandable

Top and bottom is its users choice . With a nandroid it takes a short time to test .
Personally i cannot stand AOKP/AOSP .
Sound you have got to give this a try IRS open up a whole new world of sound outputs .

Good kitkat themes for theme chooser?

hello,
i have a d2att running the latest PACman nightly. I heard of kitkat's release and I really like the way it looks, but there are no kitkat ROMS yet for the s3, which I can understand as kitkat was only released 3 days ago. Does anyone know of any good themes or icon packs, preferably free ones, that I can use to make my phone look like it's running kitkat?

Most popular ROMs?

Hey everyone, just got my htc one and I'm loving it. I plan on rooting soon and I want to try some ROMs but I don't know where to start. I'm coming from a galaxy s4 running hyperdrive. I really didn't like touchwiz, but cyanogen lacked a little too much galaxy s4 specific support for me. So far I like sense a lot better so I would like to try some sense based ROMs but like I said, I don't really know where to start (this is my first htc). Any recommendations for sense based ROMs that have great performance and feature tweaks?

I'm using SkyFall deodex. I came from Galaxy S3, really enjoying this phone. Not a lot of feature tweaks just yet but you can install Xposed Framework and get a lot of mods, check out Gravity Box and Sense 6 Toolbox. I know that a popular S3 developer is working on a new rom and he's pretty legit. SkyFall is stable, fast, and good battery life for me, but that's just my 2 cents.

I'm using ViperOne. Once you try it, you'll never want to flash another ROM again! It's sense based, and had more tweakable things than I've seen in any other ROM.

I think this is the best Roms.

Roms, Aroma themes anything gonna pick up for Lollipop?

I'm not bashing at all
.... but it's almost like Since 5.0 there's no Choices in roms that are even remotely as custom or differentiate within the whole UI look from one to the next Unlike All the Kitkat Roms Had differences.
Not much if anything in the themes forum (yet) Maybe even never for Lollipop .
Most the 5.0 roms being made look the same Almost all same apps and such built in.with ad away and 3min battery mod that's it ???
5.0 is Boring Looks wise It would be cool to have sickness modz.. zip to somewhat flash and make the 5.0 roms unique .
All In all this is just a question rather then me complaining ... are we just not interested in 5.0 on the s5 much anymore. Deny if u like but it's evident that since Kitkat interest has been lost alot In aroma Themes for 5.0 And overall customization within the whole ui.. within any 5.0 Rom on the forum .
I know it's work and devs.. put in time but This isn't a complain it's really a Question does this simply have to do with the loss of interest since kitkat was over taken... it's been out long enough to get some real development and diversity from one rom to the next.
We need some Good deviant work ,them guys are the best .
Maybe something like a 5.0 rom themed with kitkat UI. Just a suggestion. Or defiantly some themed 5.0 tw color keyboards and do away with the 3min battery mod People prefer the stock battery icon look. Every 5.0 rom has the percentage built in bad enough we watch lollipop battery life % die minute to minute .I'd rather not see that.
Don't come at me to hard guys it was just a honest opinion

I'm running V5 now it's great Rom.
I'm just hoping we get a modz zip to theme it Like keyboard colors ,boot animations toggles etc... kinda like what you made for kitkat. Not like stressing, I just was wondering if we plan to get that perticular mod updated to flash and work for Lollipop build.

I have a galaxy s3 that I want to flash a clean rom similar to my verison

yet I'm not sure where I can find the best rom!
currently I got a unlocked i9300 running a stock i9300XXEMD2 rom on 4.1.2 with a UK "3.co" on the power up and shutdown on the device
thing is I really like the look of this older sammy stock rom! I don't want to flash to those strange newer "white" verisons. I enjoy the look of the black and using old youtube and maps
yet I know there are better custom roms the clear the bloat. I'm looking for one that retains the look and feel of the galaxy s3 when it came out but is more uptodate, has a callrecorder built into secphone (when I install its not working) and overall improves ram use/user preformence, battery etc.
can someone point me in a good direction? there is so much available and hard to sort thru
Neat ROM is probably your best bet. Remember not Neat ROM AOSP. Its the one that its download size is about 1GB.
It is based on the latest stock ROM for S3 which is Android 4.3 and has new features integrated into the ROM (Quad multiwindow , smart features etc from newer Galaxy S series).
It also has the old Black theme similar to your ROM
Neat Rom looks interesting. Why is there an "ASOP" version? What's the difference?
Any others?
If your device is sim locked you may want to unlock it before you mess with it.
In 2 years i found stock 4.3 to be the best rom for this device.
device is unlocked and rooted.
strange how I bought it used... it was on stock UK rom... but its been flashed and rooted before.... rooting it didn't take very long... it was easy...
I have root access and its nice, but i'm looking for something that easier on the battery, cleaner bloat removed and has excellent features... but doesn't stray far from that fine stock look of an s3!
My personal best is archidroid rom, speed & stability all the way. Stock rom was slow and buggy. It took me about 2 whole minutes from unlocking to sending msg. You shld give it a try. I flashed it on 7 diff devices. Its asop, it isnt wht you are looking but certanly the worth a look

yeah... neatrom was too slow and heavy use of ram
is their another "galaxy s3" looking like rom thats newer?

Rooted. Stock 4.3. Honestly its the best rom. If you want really good battery then don't root it. Don't even debloat it, dont change the kernel. Just disable facebook app and it'll serve you well.
Xposed is a big battery killer.
Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
...I don't use facebook app and rooting a phone serves me far more.
Maybe its lack of ram 9300 has?

Stay with stock 4.3 and remove unwanted bloat, don't use mods, its the source of bugs and instability.
If you want Kitkat then go with back-to-n00t, same thing with 4.3 but it was ported from the Korean LTE version, very stable and smooth, everything works fine too, because the rom includes all the Samsung blobs

I hate the Facebook app...
I just use Facebook via the Firefox (beta) browser app and I can do just as much if not more on Facebook via the browser than the app.
Just my opinion...
I use mobile myself...
Great but now they're pushing messenger use on.mobile.
Anyone have a fix for this?
