Good kitkat themes for theme chooser? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello,
i have a d2att running the latest PACman nightly. I heard of kitkat's release and I really like the way it looks, but there are no kitkat ROMS yet for the s3, which I can understand as kitkat was only released 3 days ago. Does anyone know of any good themes or icon packs, preferably free ones, that I can use to make my phone look like it's running kitkat?

[Q] 2 questions for the Galaxy S II

Hi, i have two questions for you, because i don't know what to do...
- the first one : Android 4.0 will be released for this phone ?
- the second one : is it possible to have an official version of Android gingerbread without Touchwiz for the galaxy S II ? ( i don't very like Touchwiz )
I ask you this questions because i don't know if it's better to wait the nexus prime, or to buy this phone... ( sorry for my english, i'm not very good )
Thank you !
1. Yes, probably
2. CM7 is already available, think of it as souped-up AOSP
If you can wait then go for the nexus prime, but there'll always be something better around the corner and the SGS2 is the best out there for the meanwhile
Ill probably be getting the samsung g note but I wonder will the nexus prime have a removable sd card.
thank you for your answers ! i think i will buy the galaxy ! but one last question : the CyanogenMod roms aren't stable yet ?

They're stable enough, as most users would agree, but there are other AOSP ROMs out there that are pure Android, without any CM stuff. It depends what you want, obviously, but if you're after pure Android (as on a Nexus, for example) then that's available and working very well.

Did you ever use and Android based phone before? Install different launcher and get rid of TW. Root your phone and delete samsung based apps with Root Uninstaller. That's it
if you don't like touchwiz you don't need to switch the rom, just search the market for a launcher that suits your liking and customize it to your preference.
i dont think touchwiz sucks that bad. but i wanted to have more control over how the app drawer sorts apps, so i downloaded go launcher ex (completely free) and i got what i want.

+1 I love TouchWiz 4.0. It's fast, smooth and looks awesome. In addition, I love using some of the widgets that are TouchWiz only. Also if you are a TouchWiz user, you can download an app called Appzorter to alphabetize your app drawer (only works on root though). I've tried other launchers and none of them seem to be as fluid as Touchwiz is.
personnaly, i think touchwiz is not very beautiful, the galaxy seems to be an old phone with that. i prefer the style of android, but it's my opinion.
Sounds like your comparing touchwiz 4 to touchwiz 3 in the galaxy i9000.
Touchwiz 4 is silky smooth compared to any other launcher and adds great functionality compared to an standard android device.

I'm a fan of pure Android too, but it obviously doesn't hurt to try all the alternatives out there. As I said ealier I use MIUI, but it's very much NOT pure Android, although built on an AOSP ROM. CM is also built from the ground up, and that's very popular. Your best bet is to just forget what you already know and try what's out there, because there are some great ROMs available. Just bear in mind that a lot of them are simply tweaked Samsung ROMs, and nothing "new" (no disrespect meant to the developers - purely an observation).
I hated the look of MIUI before I tried it because it looked like someone just wanted Android to look like the iPhone, but trying it really showed me how wrong it was. I just guess it's the same with all ROMs. Don't take anyone's word for it - try it for yourself.

[q] tablet ui?

Installed CM10.1 Stable, so far so good. I miss the Tablet UI though from whatever previous build I had (it's been a while since I've played with ROMs, probably last December? ) I was actually really surprised to find out CM10.1 stable was available for NT. Been using an old build I was really happy with.
Is there an official or easy way to get the Tablet UI back?

AFAIK CyanogenMod doesn't support it, which is why I've been trying other ROMs that do have the tablet ui (like AOKP). I would certainly be interested in this though too.

Succulent build supports it. He should be making a stable build in the upcoming days.

[Q] How to install themer on N7 v2

Is there any way to install themer on Nexus 7 2013. As far as i know themer is just for phones.
If someone could point me a direction how to do it or any suggestion at all .
I have Sinless rom based on kitkat 4.4.2 and everything runs so smooth and nice but without anytheme my tablet seems like it's "sad"
I don't like kitkat color ,this grey is kind of depressing for me.

I was actually disapointed when I found out Themer wasn't available for Tablets.
This post though, makes me slighty happier!
I don't know if this may work:
Install Xposed installer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Install module All Apps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
it may allow you to get themer from the play store and test it... I don't know how it will work on a tablet, but if you have the time and are rooted, you can try it...
Nice work
Nice Work...

no latest samsung touchwiz rom is 4.3
4.4.2 is only given by cm11 or omnirom, but there is no touchwiz
and please search first. if there would be such an update there would be something written for example in general section

Thanks! I've flashed SuperNexus, it's extremely fast but I feel that the S3 lost tons of features. I wish there would be such a beautiful UI with many feature and very lightweight like this!
Well, you can change number in build.prop
Most 4.4 changes won't be visible under TW anyway

With the amount of bugs kitkat hardly has any benefits. If your looking for feature filled or lightweight roms you can turn your attention towards the S4 based roms like Glamour S4 or S4 Revolution. They will amaze you but are large in size. The latest SmartDroid rom is new but is very light in size, has the Samsung features you love and even has a themeing system, although its buggy in the new version you can customize your icon packs, themes, and status bar to kitat/xperia/sense etc styles. Do give it a try.
Hi friend,
try my Rom, but is AOKP 4.3.1 BASED with Touchwiz, stable and power....[ROM][11/01/14]QUASARKAT V.4_Great Battery_MOTO X Camera_stable_Smooth_online

I'm very happy with my 4.3 NeatRom- lite touchwiz rom with nice configuration that lets you select things you want to keep from Samsung/Google, and it also have a lot of compatible modes that give you nice Kitkat touch and feel.

Most popular ROMs?

Hey everyone, just got my htc one and I'm loving it. I plan on rooting soon and I want to try some ROMs but I don't know where to start. I'm coming from a galaxy s4 running hyperdrive. I really didn't like touchwiz, but cyanogen lacked a little too much galaxy s4 specific support for me. So far I like sense a lot better so I would like to try some sense based ROMs but like I said, I don't really know where to start (this is my first htc). Any recommendations for sense based ROMs that have great performance and feature tweaks?

I'm using SkyFall deodex. I came from Galaxy S3, really enjoying this phone. Not a lot of feature tweaks just yet but you can install Xposed Framework and get a lot of mods, check out Gravity Box and Sense 6 Toolbox. I know that a popular S3 developer is working on a new rom and he's pretty legit. SkyFall is stable, fast, and good battery life for me, but that's just my 2 cents.

I'm using ViperOne. Once you try it, you'll never want to flash another ROM again! It's sense based, and had more tweakable things than I've seen in any other ROM.

I think this is the best Roms.
