[Q] No LTE Option in menu in ZOOM LTE (SM-C105) - Samsung Galaxy S 4 Zoom

Hi,
I have Galaxy ZOOM LTE (SM-C105) (not SM-101)
I have similar problem to Galaxy S4 (GT-i9505) owners - no LTE option in phone menu.
I'm 100% sure than phone have LTE because I can install app "Advanced Signal Status " and LTE works.
I flashed with diferemt ROM (oryginal) but nothing happened.
What else can I do?

Got the same problem... anyone can help?
Wyslano z mojego Samsung Galaxy S4 ZOOM za pomoca Tapatalk

i have the same problem,
im with 3 uk, and its not giving me LTE and its not in the settings to select.
but i tried an EE sim (in an EE shop) and YES it connected to LTE and i see the LTE option in the settings..
looking at the wiki/List_of_LTE_networks#Europe
i see this..
3UK for LTE uses
Frequency 800 MHz Band 20 and 1800 MHz Band 3
EE for LTE uses
Frequency 2600 MHz Band 7 and 1800 MHz Band 3
now i know my zoom SM-C105 Flashed with the factory unbranded UK firmware CAN connect to LTE
what do you think is my next move?
could i try flashing with a Switzerland firmware that i see also uses Frequency 2600 MHz Band 7
or am i heading down the wrong path?
---------- Post added at 08:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:41 PM ----------
Is there a 3UK official firmware out there i could try?
and if i found one, would flashing it lock my sp-unlocked phone to 3UK?

useing the app PHONE INFO SAMSUNG i get this...
so, the app tells me under heading 'Orignal csc code: = BTU that we know is UK & IRE (dose the app get this from the hardware?)
and the app says under the heading 'Firmware info:
bootloder c105xxuana1
baseband c105xxuana1
pda c105xxuana1
csc c105BTUuana1 <--- notice the BTU
under os
build number, fingerprint and build dicription all have c105xxuana1 in the text...
we know c105xxuana1 refers to newzeeland and they dont use the 800Mhz band 20 that i appear to need.
so it appears i have UK hardware running Newzeeland Firmware
ideas?

ok more info...
just checking samsung site and this SM-C105 can defiantly do 4G (LTE): 800/850/900/1,800/2,100/2,600MHz
both 3uk and EE use 1800 and as i cant connect to LTE with the 3UK sim, lets put the 1800 to one side....
with the EE sim in, it DID connect to LTE so i guess it used the 2600 band.
only bad left that 3UK use is the 800 band, so ive just flashed the UK Voda FW that ONLY uses the 800 band for LTE
ive a feeing im getting closer but in settings i still dont see LTE
only this...
WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)
WCDMA only
GSM only
im not currently in an LTE signal place so cant test this, but would the option LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)
only show up when in an LTE area?

Posting this and hopefully helping others.
Yesssssss got 4G today on my trip to london..
not sure if its one of these three things below or a combination of two or all three as i did this steps in a non 4g place and couldn't test for a few days.
1. i flashed the UK Voda software, according to the LTE wiki vodaphone uk only uses the 800mhz band for LTE.
2. installed the app 'Advanced Singnal Status'
3. got a replacement simcard from the 3uk shop. (instant transfer of number to new sim no pac required)
in the 'Advanced Singnal Status' app, tap ADDITIONAL INFO, (on the other firmwares i tried it wouldnt let me in this section, says locked out or words to that effect)
in additional info, tap Device Information. and then i Set 'Preferred Network Type' to 'LTE/GSM auto (PRL)' then hit home to back out.
(NOTE: in the phones Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Mode.. there still ISNT an LTE option, even when i was connected to 4G today.)
ive a feeling i would still have to use the toggle in Advanced Signal Status app after a reboot, as LTE still isn't showing up in the phones settings menu.
But ether way im happy. spent most of the day driving so didnt get to test out the 4G but google maps was streaming and my radio app was streaming
lovley, with a sexy 4G logo where i normally only see H+

Network realted question. Please help!

Howzit guys,
I brought a HTC Aria in the USA on AT&T network. I came back to SA and rooted my phone put Android v2.2 on (phone came with v2.1) thinking that would unlock the phone, but it didn't. I ended up looking on the net for a website that I could get an unlock code for my phone. Long story short, I found one, paid for it and it worked. I'm using the phone on Vodacom no matter what I do I can't get 3G or HSDPA to work, only GPRS. HSDPA and 3G work fine in the states.
After doing some research I noticed that in the Mobile Network settings on the phone there is 3 options under Network Mode:
1. WCDMA only
2. GSM only
3.GSM / WCDMA auto
Now from what I've seen I need to use WCDMA to get the 3G / HSDPA to work, but when I select option 1. I don't get any signal and then phone eventually switches to GSM automatically. I was at work on the weekend helping a customer with her laptop and she had a 8•ta 3G modem, and 8•ta 3G modems are currently running off of MTN's network I was told this by an 8•ta technician and I noticed when connecting the modem it said something regarding WCDMA.
So now my question, if I change to MTN do you think I will be able to use 3G / HSDPA on my phone?
Any info regarding this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
The American version of the Aria uses different 3G frequencies (because that's what AT&T uses), so unfortunately your phone will not work with 3G in South Africa. There is a different version of the Aria (called Gratia in most regions) that is the exact same phone except it supports the correct 3G frequencies for your country, but there's nothing you can do with the phone you have now to make it work.

Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SHV-e120s)

Hi guys
I recently got one of these shipped over to Australia. Now I've encountered a few network issues I'd like help to resolve.
1. I think the only HSDPA/UMTS bands available are only 900/2100MHz. That means I can't get access to Telstra's Next G Network as it runs on 850MHz. Unfortunately I can't get access to the service mode at all and I've also downloaded the network app from the android market to see if I can change the band that way, but that doesn't help either - the app just crashes. I guess there's not much I can do there.
2. According to all the sites I've seen about the specs for the phone - LTE bands supported are 800/1800/2600MHz. But I can't seem to get on Telstra's LTE in sydney. The phone assumes that even with a Telstra sim, I'm on roaming with SK Telecom and it states that 4G roaming is now available. The aforementioned network app is set to "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" - yet no LTE!
Perhaps I could flash to another ROM? but I'm not sure which would be applicable? The LG Nitro HD has the closest specs in my opinion. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. usually, bands are hardware limited. Meaning if you don't receive a particular band, you probably won't ever be able to.
2. what bands does Telstra's LTE operate on? #1 applies here too. If the LTE antenna in the phone doesn't receive the frequency your operator is transmitting on, there's not much you can do.
And in your "Perhaps", why would you even consider flashing a ROM for a completely different phone to yours???? (unless you WANTED to end up with a paperweight)
EDIT: Look at this thread. Specifically what's in post 2, which reads "So it doesn't matter where you buy the phone from, it will work on Telstra unless you go buy the korean version or something." Just googling your model number (SHV-E120S), it looks like that IS a Korean version of the phone. The fact that you say it says something about roaming for SK Telecom (a South Korean carrier) seems to support that.
EDIT 2: a quick google for the SHV-E120S turns up this page, which says the phone is for networks voice GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, data (HSPA+) UMTS900, UMTS2100, and LTE frequencies LTE 800, LTE 1800, LTE 2600.
According to Telstra's wikipedia page, HSPA on Telstra is UMTS850 and UMTS2100, and LTE is LTE1800. So you won't get full support on all of Telstra's bands with that model of phone.
It looks like you'll prob be stuck with 3G nextwork if you use this phone in AUS.
Remember: DO NOT try to flash ROMs that is not for your phone. I've tried this one time and ended up hard-bricking my phone. NEVER DO THIS!

Ive read a number of XDA sites where people flash and install new modems with different bands. Woudl it be possible to install a 850MHz modem into the above phone?

Um, no. No flash will ever address a hardware limitation.

[Q] Can´t enable LTE no matter what.

Hello,
I can not get LTE working with my black Lumia 920.
The phone is supposedly RM-821 global version with pentaband LTE support disabled in firmware. Bought in Vietnam from official retailer and I am using it here in Finland where I live (LTE frequencies 1800 and 2600 are used by my operator). There is no 4G option in settings->mobile network->highest connection speed. I can go to field test menu (##3282+call) -> settings and select 4G only there but as soon as I leave that menu the setting reverts back to whatever it was set before. Also no LTE network is found during the time I stay in the menu.
This issue is driving me nuts.
Here is what I have tried so far with no success resolving the issue:
- Flashing in 8-10 different firmwares/softwares (several different region rm-821 models including finnish) with Nokia care suite.
- Called my operator several times and requested and got a new sim card to rule out the possibility that the problem lies there.
- Called nokia customer care twice and they keep telling me that the phone - for being the global variant - has LTE support on hardware level but it is just disabled in software.
- Checked the APN settings. If I select the access point with access point name for 4G network with my operator I don´t get connected at all. It says 3G in the topbar but network simply doesn´t work.
- Done this all in area where there should be 99,9% certainty for LTE-network availability.
So if anyone can point out something that I have missed or could still try please do. Would be highly appreciated!
You say it has octaband support. Have you confirmed what frequencies it operates at? It is possible that even being octaband versus pentaband that your frequency is not in that phones range. Is there any documentation that says what bands your model supports?

Sorry I mean pentaband ofcourse. It is supposed to support the 800, 900, 1800, 2100 and 2600mhz frequencies.

Now that is out of the way, are you sure that your provider has LTE coverage in your exact area? Not just over all but at your exact location? Also is the signal you get at your location normally strong. If it is not strong enough the phone will drop to a lower band to conserve bandwidth.
you may find that nokia has not enabled it yet, they my do so at a later date by firmware .. the CVBG also do not have 4g working out of the box
I am having the same problem.. I bought a 920 when on holiday in Thailand.. now back home and it will not show 4G.. only 3G... whereas my 820 gets 4G fine...
Its an rm-821... and like the original poster i tried flashing a known 4G firmware onto the phone..
Do they actually manufacture 920s that are not 4G ?? I just assumed they were all 4G.... I guess i was wrong..
Have you try this app and manually set for the LTE? just a suggestion

Flash your RM-821 with the Finnish firmware 059Q917 (1308.1) . It will activate the LTE as it did mine.

Best setup for UK ONE on AT&T

So I love my HTC ONE.... Fantastic phone.. No question about it.
As I posted else where I have the UK model and I am on AT&T in the USA. It's working, but the HSDPA and 3G is bouncing around quite a bit and it jumps to E really quickly. And it loses the signal quickly in low signal areas. More than any other phone. If I switch the network to GSM, I have full signal almost everywhere.... But no data bandwidth.
It was suggested that I might need to look at my setup.
So here is what I have.
I have a STD LTE data plan
I have a STD sim that work on all my other LTE enabled phones
My APN is Called Phone and has the same setting as I find on the forum for a 4G setup...ie it is NOT the wap and cingular setup.
I have selected WCDMA and GSM networks (I know the phone is not compatible with AT&T LTE bands), but it acted the same way even when it was on the default GSM WCDMA and LTE Auto setting.
Does anyone know else I should check or change?
PS. I will likely buy the developer model, or the AT&T model as soon as it is available... this phone is that good!!!
Thanks for your help.
Nick
PS. I will be in Korea next week, so I am curious how the LTE will function there.... I will let you know. I think they have the 2600 band on one provider and that overlaps with the UK bands

Padfone S - LTE signal icon in status bar absent and LTE option in settings absent.

THE CONCERN:
Padfone S - LTE signal icon in status bar absent and LTE option in settings absent. Just H, H+, and 4G icon.
MY QUESTION:
Has anyone ran into this same senario and fixed it? Or, come up with a real concrete understading of the LTE bands on PFS WW firmware?
POST ABBREVIATIONS:
PFS=Padfone S (International) model.
PFX=Padfone X (AT&T) model.
H=HSPA=3G
H+=HSPA+= 4G
4G= 4G posibly LTE (That I am trying to figure out.)
WHAT I DID:
So, did a full system wipe and flashed the most recent official Asus PFS firmware on an (AT&T) PFX model with TWRP 3.0
THE OUTCOME OF CHANGING FIRMWARE SO FAR:
Overall, phone works incredibly well. Smooth. No bugs except for LTE band issue. However, I don't know if it's an actual issue.
Flashing to PFS gave me Android 5.0, but most importantly the Padfone Station works perfectly as well Google Play store without having to modify anything. (Both reasons I didn't keep CM12 or CM13.)
THE CONCERN AGAIN:
Concern is that in this PFS firmware, LTE signal icon in status bar absent and LTE option in settings absent. Just H, H+, and 4G icon
WHAT MY PHONE DOES:
Only displays H, H+, and 4G in status bar next to signal strength.
In Settings > Cellular Networks section, only gives me Preferred Network Type option of 2G, 3G, 2G 3G 4G.
No LTE option. Yet, phone specs indicates that it has the bands.
LTE bearer option in APN does nothing.
WHAT I DID:
Downloaded an app called LTE DISCOVERY (Google Play Store), and it shows that when signal status shows 4G icon, it actually is using the LTE band 2. (See Photos below)
BAND 1900 Mhz band 2= LTE
However, it doesn't stay on a 4G Band 2 frequency that long. Usually jumps back to H and H+. And data connection disconnects constantly. I have to disable and re-enable data to get it to reconnect.
Note: My area has a strong AT&T LTE signal, and on PFX firmware LTE worked great. I know the hardware is capable of connecting to network. Just not available on PFS firmware, I guess?
WHAT I MIGHT DO NEXT:
I am considering trying to flash modem image from Padfone X, but am hesitant.
Also considering using an app called Nexus 4 LTE Modem Flasher (Google Play Store) which flashes preloaded LTE bands and helps enable the, but I'm hesitant to use it since this is not a Nexus.
Also considering flashing Official Asus Padfone INFINITY WW firmware to see if that is any different. Infinity also has a Padfone Station.
Has anyone ran into this same senario and fixed it? Let me know please.

That being said, my hardware is capable, but the PFS firmware I flashed is not going to access those frequencies and bands.
Soooo, going to have to flash modems for them somehow.
Anyone successful in this arena of flashing modem to include LTE band 4,5 and 17 on PFS?
...additional photo. APN Bearer options, system info to go with Original Post.
I have a Padfone X flashed to Padfone S running on T-Mobile.
The 4G network indicator in the status bar really IS LTE. Back when Verizon was rolling out 4G LTE, providers like AT&T and T-Mobile didn't want to feel "left behind", so they upgraded their 3G networks to HSPA+ and marketed it as "4G". In the rest of the world, 4G correctly refers to just LTE (and WiMax in areas that still use it). So basically: E = 2G EDGE, H/H+ = 3G HSPA(+), 4G = LTE.
The Padfone S modem contains all of the bands that the Padfone X modem had except for Band 17. On my device, after flashing the Padfone S firmware, I did not flash the Padfone X modems, and I'm still able to connect to LTE Bands 2 and 4, HSPA+ Band 2 (1900MHz), and EDGE Band 2 (1900MHz). To get Band 17 working again (for AT&T), apparently you need to have backed up the EFS partition of the Padfone X via the older TWRP (I'm unsure if Quarx's TWRP 3.0.0 restored this functionality), and restore it once the device is flashed to the S firmware.
Have you tried forcing the phone into LTE-only mode? Download the 4G Switch app from the Play store (icon is a circular red power button), scroll down a bit and change "LTE/GSM auto" to "LTE-only". See how the phone reacts.

First, thank you for your input and advice.
Second, I tried to use two 4G Switch apps (4G Switcher and Radio Switcher) and both open the following same screen. Like if both apps got hijacked by lollipop and only opens a secret TESTING page to Device Info HANDHELD MOBILE DEVICE INFO. This does allow me to select preferred LTE network, but the apps were suppose to have a completely different visual and GUI. Happened to me with MobileUncle Tool and Tool Hero when I went to Engineering Mode > Engineering Mode (Android) > Same Screen.
Why?
...this screen. All four apps send me to this screen. Why is it hijacking the apps and sending me to the Testing page?

That's the correct menu. Scroll down a bit and look for the "LTE/GSM auto" option, press on it, and select "LTE-only". Might need to throw your phone into Airplane mode and back out again for the change to take affect.
It's located a few lines below the screenshot you posted:
In this screenshot, it's where it says "WCDMA Preferred": http://i-cdn.phonearena.com/images/articles/64301-image/Phone-info-1.png
Change that to LTE-only. See what happens.
