[Q] Back to Stock From GPe Conversion - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Hello,
I need to return my phone to T-Mobile. I've read tons of articles, guides, posts etc. I simply cannot get back to stock. I've tried relocking the bootloader, running old RUU's no luck. It got to a point where I had some partially flashed Tmobile rom that wouldn't get past the lock screen and had no buttons...lol. I was able to get the phone back to the following state:
At this point I have the following:
S-Off
Unlocked Bootloader
Root
CWM Recovery
4.4.2 Google Edition Stock Rom
CID: T-MOB010
MID: Untocuched
HBOOT: 1.5.4.0000
OS: 3.58.1700.5
Any assistance would be appreciated.

RUU won't take, can access fastboot and recovery.

Converted an M7ATT to GPE - the owner wants it back to stock. I don't know how (probably an OTA) but S-ON got re-enabled and bootloader is locked. I tried unlocking it via HTCDev but it won't take.
-AT&T M7
-GPE fastboot/bootloader
-GPE Recovery
-Bootlooping as soon as it hits Android
-S-On / Locked(tampered) bootloader
When I try an RUU exe, it just says device not found. When I try it via rom.zip / commandline, it just says FAILED (status read failed (Too many links)).
Any suggestions?

Have you tried to re s-off?
I believe the firewater and romrunner tools in the int. One forums should be able to s-off that hboot.
I haven't personally gone s-off, but my understanding is that once s-off you can change your sid (super sid maybe?) And run just about any ruu.
Search up on that stuff.

you will have to s-off to repair the phone or hope for a new GPE RUU
whats the fastboot getvar all results (minus the serial no and IMEI )
I see a few mistakes. First, never go S-On and/or lock the bootloader once they've been unlocked. There's no reason for this unless returning to stock for warranty purposes. And if you do, ensure the phone has the software it's supposed to (AT&T in this case).
Secondly, if you have GPE, you must downgrade to hboot 1.44 first. And to do this, you must be S-Off.
Since the phone is currently S-On, the course of action depends on what is on the phone. If your CID is currently GOOGL001 or 11111111, try flashing the latest GPE RUU to restore the phone to working condition. Then go to HTCDev and unlock the bootloader. After that, you can use Firewater to S-Off.
Assuming all is successful, search for and flash hboot 1.44, then change the CID to CWS__001 (that's two underscores) and flash an AT&T RUU. And whatever you do, don't go S-On or lock the bootloader again. There's nothing to be gained by doing this.
If you're returning the phone to AT&T software because the person didn't like GPE (which I don't blame them), use the Dev Edition. By far the best choice to get the same Sense version of Android without all of the AT&T sh*tware. And things like AT&T Visual Voicemail work, along with any other AT&T app if the person wanted to download it from the Play Store for free.
Good luck.

[Q] Please help, I need stock (or close as I can get) T-Mobile US, ARHD 61.1, S-On

Hey all, I know I know, I'm sure someone is going to tell me to search and figure it out, but I have and I cannot. I could REALLY use your help here.
I've used HTC phones since the G1, rooting, flashing, unlocking, etc, and nothing has been as unclear as this.
So here is my request. I need to send my phone back to T-Mobile for warranty replacement (the mic broke). I am rooted, and have the bootloader unlocked via the official HTC method.
Here is what I currently have on my phone.
Rom: ARHD 61.1
Bootloader: 1.55.0000
Baseband: 4A.21.3263.03
Firmware: 3.24.531.3
S-On (I did the rooting and unlocking and such before they had S-Off)
CIDnum: T-MOB010
ModelID: PN0713000
I just need to get back to stock (even if it says relocked or whatever) so I can send this back to them. Every post I've read, every video I've watched, all have directions that are for S-Off, or don't have downloads for what I have if the directions are for S-On. I've dug through the Gurureset stuff and can't seem to make heads or tails of it. Some of it seems to be close, but ends up usually being the 1.29 firmware which will break my touchscreen from what I've read.
Could someone explain what the best way of doing this is? I am willing to PAY you for the help, via paypal or whatever, if that's what it takes. Basically I just need to get back to a factory image/bootloader that can OTA so that if T-Mobile were to inspect it the only thing they'd really see is that it's been relocked.
Thank you so much for the help, I really appreciate it.

I was also s-on and on 1.55. I had to use rumrunner to get s-off, then relock bootloader so that I could use a ruu to get back to bone stock JB.

Follow mike1986's guide on returning to stock. You can use the RUU from this post for Method 2. Good luck and for this method you don't have to be S-Off.

FORMER HTC User, NEED TO RUU back to stock, please help!!!

Dear Friends,
I need some urgent help. I used to be a proficient HTC user, but have not used an HTC product since the Rezound. I had my Rezound flashed to Page Plus, but now I am back on Verizon, and need to get back to my Rezound as an emergency, as I broke my current phone. Popping in the Verizon sim card is just not working so I have to restore to factory settings so I can use it on Verizon again.
Problem is, I have forgotten EVERYTHING about rooting, unrooting, s-off, s-on, Bootloader unlock/relock, and RUUing back to stock. I have tried reading some guides, but they are not making sense to me, and I am scared I will end up bricking my phone trying to RUU back.
Can someone please point me to a step-by-step method on how to return back to a factory Verizon ROM? Here is what my phone says:
***LOCKED***
VIGOR PVT ENG s-off RL
HBOOT-2.11.2005 (PH9810000)
RADIO-0.95.00.1118r/0.95.00.1223r

I am on a custom ROM which is rooted (Android 4.03, HTC 4.0, ViperRez 1.0.3) I guess that means I have an unlocked bootloader? I am also s-off it seems? I just need to do the minimal to RUU back to stock. After I have the Verizon radios, PRLs, and NAMs and etc, I will need to root my device again, even look into a AOKP option for the phone like the CarbonROM.
Please guys, I need some hand holding back to knowing how this was done. Thank you for your prompt help in advance!
Any help would be appreciated guys, I know, some people are reading this thread. Do I just relock my Bootloader and run the RUU? Which one do I run and where do I get it?
Thank you in advance!

Anyone guys?? I need desperate help, can someone please help me via Hangouts or something?
Thank you!
You must not on a custom or hex edited hboot, if you do you can brick your device... if you have one you must return to the stock Hboot first, this is before my time... they were already going away when I got into the Rez, not sure how to help with that part but it wasn't uncommon with GB firmware (that you have).
Go to http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Vigor
then download
RUU_VIGOR_ICS_35_S_VERIZON_WWE_3.14.605.12_Radio_RS_1.22.10.0424r_3622A_MR3_9K_release_270509_signed.exe
Run the RUU as administrator, will get you to 3.14.605.12 completely stock, from there you need to OTA via a working Verizon connection...
To so it all manually, see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509770

Reverting to Stock AT&T HTC One M9

Hello,
I've given this the good ol' college try and have failed miserably. I'm trying to revert my phone back to stock so I can take the latest OTA(Stagefrieght) for the HTC One M9 AT&T variant. Here are the steps and details about my phone:
Phone: HTC One M9
Carrier: AT&T
Security: S-ON
Bootloader: Unlocked
Android Version: 5.1
HTC Sense Version: 5.0
Software Number: 2.6.502.16
Kernel Version: 3.10.49-perf-g15d0457
Baseband version: 01.01_U11440601_72.02.50602A_F
In DOWNLOAD Mode the following appears:
*** UNLOCKED ***
htc_himaulatt PVT S-ON
LK-1.0.0.0000
RADIO-01.01_U11440601_72.02.50602A_F
OpenDSP-v29.2.6-00492-M8994_0514
OS-2.6.502.16
Jun 23, 2015, 11:57:08(556209)
Methods Tried:
I've tried to use the following RUU's for my phone and have received 'Error 15' each time during the install process Step 1:
RUU_HIMA_UL_L50_SENSE70_ATT_Cingular_US_1.32.502.31_Radio_01.01_U11440221_62.05.50320G_F_release_426950_signed_2.exe
RUU_HIMA_UL_L51_SENSE70_ATT_MR_Cingular_US_2.6.502.16_Radio_01.01_U11440601_72.02.50602A_F_release_438693_signed_2.exe
RUU_HIMA_UL_L51_SENSE70_ATT_MR_Cingular_US_2.6.502.18_Radio_01.01_U11440601_72.02.50602A_F_release_446474_signed_2.exe
I've also tried relocking my bootloader, restoring the recovery file '2.6.502.16_stock_recovery.img' and installing the RUU's with the same results.
Another method I tried was unlocking my bootloader again and placing a zip of the following on the 'media/ext_sd/' slow and get an error immediately.
himaulatt-3.10.49-perf-g15d0457.zip
himaulatt-3.10.49-gac85c7b.zip
I was able to generate some unique errors by trying to take the OTA on TWRP(I know, this is not a correct and ultimately what probably put me in this situation):
"This package is for "htc_himaulatt" devices; this is a "htc_himaul"
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've ran out of ideas!
Thanks!

I'm going to bump this because I would like to restore my M9 to stock At&t as well. I plan on giving my M9 to another family member in the very near future.
Except I am S-Off
Solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/help/reverting-to-stock-att-htc-one-m9-t3195378#post62730387
I did some digging around (before I seen your reply) and here's what I did:
I changed my CID to: CWS__001
Changed my MID to the stock At&t
Downloaded the latest At&t (Cingular) RUU from HTC's website and ran that
( http://dl3.htc.com.s3.amazonaws.com...01_72.02.50602A_F_release_446474_signed_2.exe )
Relocked my bootloader via fastboot
I left my phone S-Off and it still shows "tampered", but after the RUU finished and my phone rebooted, I checked for updates and it downloaded an 800mb update from At&t.... then about 4 hours later, I got notification of another update from At&t and it just finished.
So, I'm 100% At&t and able to receive OTA updates with still being S-Off.
