Hello,i updated to Android 4.3 a few months ago but before the official update was released.I flashed a 4.3 firmware but it is too buggy and laggy,anyways, i'm trying to downgrade to 4.1.2 and then install the 4.3 update via OTA.I downloaded a 4.1.2 firmware and i am flashing it using Odin and it says it has been successfully flashed,however the new 4.1.2 system is not installed in the phone,it's still the same buggy 4.3 one What do i do ?
Flash a firmware from sammobile.com via Odin.
But if you downgrade you will end up with no network unless you read the faqs and guides first .
Plenty of excellent 4.3 rom on this developers forum .
Latest ML4 is excellent .

I flashed a 4.3 firmware and a 4.1.2 one via Odin,nothing changed,i already know the risks tho'.

Hi guys. I need some helps. I'm from Malaysia and the android that i used before is android 4.1.2 I9300XXEMF6 (original firmware). Then ive upgraded it into android 4.3 (I9300XXUGMJ9) for UK region. Even though it is an official samsung firmware, i found out it is unstable. I flash it back to android 4.1.2 (Malaysia original firmware) but something happen. The "network have not registered" problem. I then found the solution by rooting it and install the modem. But it act funnily as the android seems unstable from before. I flash it over and over again hoping that reverting back to 4.1.2 will be the same as before but i ended up using 4.2 as the 4.1.2 have network problem. I already search the forum and find many solutions but none provide the files that i need. I also have tried KIES method by recovery and initializing method but it resulted the same. "Network has not registered. The only solution is to root it and i would really like to NOT to root my phone.
My question is, can someone provide me with necessary files such as the pit files, phone (modem) and the CSC files that specifically for Malaysia regions? I already have the firmware file. Please guys. The instability of 4.3 is driving me crazy.

You are going to brick your phone if you flash things without understanding them.
Go to general forum and read the sticky post, especially efs 'know this stuff'.
Flashing a pit file WILL brick your phone.
When you flashed 4.3 you upgraded to efs v2, there is no way back. You can only use EMGx and later modems now, find a later modem that will work in your country, either with 4.1 or 4.3.
Edit. Backup your efs, perform a factory reset, flash your 4.1 country rom then an EMG modem.

What you`ll need is a new version of 4.1.2 with a mg4 baseband or latest, the 4.3 rom changed your efs folder format. If you want to stick with your 4.1.2 go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43946365&postcount=15 and flash that emergency.zip (mg4 baseband), it should do the job.

Recently I updated over-the-air to Andrioid 4.3 (baseband version I9300XXUGMJ9), build number JSS15J.I9300XXUGMJ9.
It was running android 4.2.2 before, updated over-the-air aswell. I have not rooted or modified the phone in any way. Since updating to android 4.3 it's has been painfully slow during unlocking and I wish to downgrade it to 4.2.2 however I can't find any official ROMs, I can only see 4.1.2 or 4.3.
Does anyone know where I can find official 4.2.2 ROM ? (and how to downgrade). The phone was bought unlocked, I believe.

If sammobile.com doesn't have the 4.2.2 firmware then it's not there for your region s3..
Try a Google search or use 4.1.2..

Sam mobile doesn't seem to have any 4.2.2. I am 100% sure that I had android 4.2.2 before.
There are 2,2 custom roms posted .

Thank you, I followed this tutorial ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7K6RDVRBhs ) and my phone is working fine.. thankfully with android 4.2.2 and rooted. I will read those threads aswell as they are very useful for the future...
Guys I have been having a hectic time with this no network issue in my i9300. I upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.3 without backing up the EFS folder and tried to come back to 4.1.2 and then the network registered problem came. So after many failed attempts I flashed the stock 4.2.2 via odin and gave my phone to a shop and got the corrupted EFS folder done with the repair box. Now the thing is when I flash Neatrom or the Omega 4.1.2 roms I do not get the network. I get my network ONLY on my stock 4.2.2 rom which has the patched MG4 modem. Please help me to downgrade and install Neatrom 4.1.2 rom and get my network back.
I have got a backup of my 4.2.2 EFS folder.

i can't upgrade my phone to android 4.3 JB cause my IMEI will be like that 006.....
I tried to flash my old modem that i use now MB5 on 4.3 .. and i get unknown imei and serial ...

Well thats odd. First make a backup of your imei if its not corrupted in the 4.1.2. Older than MG4 modems have efs v1 but MG4 can read both v2 and v1. Upgrading has never given a imei problem in my experience, only downgrading. Again BACKUP your IMEI. Factory reset and flash a stock rom do try 4.3 after making nandroid and efs backups. Which rom are you using btw?
