Hello, last night i flashed my phone with new rom with android 4.3 baseband version I9300XXUGMK6 kernel version [email protected] build version JSS15J.I9300XXUGML2 my IMEI and serial number didn't change but got that problem with not registered in network, i read over this forum that i need to patch modem and kernel but can't find which ones are suitable for this ROM

To try some stuff, I downgraded from ARHD 4.2.2 I9300XXUFME7 to ARHD 4.1.2 9300XXEMG4.
Now I wanted to get back to ARHD 4.2.2 I9300XXUFME7 and my phone doesn't register to the mobile network (can't make any call, SMS or data... nothing).
I tried to solve by flashing original I9300XXUFME7 without any result...
Some informations :
- From settings : about device :
Android v : 4.2.2
Baseband : I9300XXUFME7
Kernel : 3.0.31-702147 [email protected] #1
Build : ARHD 32.0 by mike1986
- From *#1234# :
AP : I9300XXUFME7
CP : I9300XXUFME7
CSC : I9300OXAFME7
Did I do something wrong ?
I am from France, do this have something to deal with CSC ?

I was on this way, I fond I have a generic 0000 IMEI number too !
I have an old EFS backup, will it be usefull to use ME7 ?
Looks like it is the same problem with MG4 ? Maybe the previous modem will help ?

Just got it working :
- installed back ARHD V32 (4.2.2 I9300XXUFME7)
- backup up my EFS with PhilZ CWM
- clean install again of ARHD V32 (4.2.2 I9300XXUFME7)
= mobile network Ok !

Now I don't know if my EFS is V1 or if the ROM has updated it ?
I just compared files from my old EFS backup and a new fresh backup :
- differences
nv_data.bin
drm/playready/DxSecureDB
drm/playready/DxSecureDB_secondary
wifi/.mac.info -> uppercased in V2
nv_data.bin.md5
imei/mps_code.dat -> went from KOR to BTU
- new files :
carrier/HiddenMenu containing "OFF"
FactoryApp/batt_cable_count
FactoryApp/earjack_count
This sounds like same issue I am having -- not registered on network (AT&T). I flashed 4.2.2 leaked to try to address freezing, but previously had been on post-July stock build. So I need to flash the stock build, save EFS, then reflash 4.2.2, then restore saved EFS?? Is there a better way?
Flash a post July modem.

here you have what I did.
My phone was working properly when it was on stock 4.0.4.
I did Cyanogenmod 10.2. It worked but no signal.
I researched on this and found something about updating modem/radio.
Went here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28033515#post28033515
I downloaded and flashed this one "DXELK1" since it said SE Asia and I live in the Philippines.
Still no signal + unknown baseband, number, IMEI.
I tried flashing 4.3 modems found here: http://perka.zapto.org/ but problem persists.
I am now downloading stock firmware 4.1.2.
Please help me. Thanks!

I have an international I9300,and it worked really well with the offical MIUI ROM(4.1.2)or the Samsung ROM,but after flashing the roms base on AOSP(4.2.2),I will have the problem with null IMEI and unkown baseband,when I flash the offical MIUI ROM,everthing is ok then !
It didn't look like I lost FES because everything is fine with the offical MIUI ROM(4.1.2) or the Samsung ROM,It happened only when I flash the roms base on AOSP(4.2.2).
I wonder how to solve the problem,big thanks if you could let me know where is wrong.:good:

Great thanks for replying! Yes,I have tried the XXEMG4 baseband after I flashing the ROMS based on AOSP,but I still have the same problem(Null IMEI and unkown baseband).

Here's the deal:
I have a Samsung galaxy S3 I9300 bought from China, it was working normal without any problem until I wanted to install another Firmware beceause the Chinses didn't have any Gapps (no Google maps, no Gmail, no Chrome...), ... didn't go well (lost the IMEI and I got one starting with 0049..., so I can't make any calls or other things with my SIM card).
I reflashed it with Chinese rom, I still have the 0049 IMEI and I lost the CSC, when I dial *#1234# I get:
AP: I9300ZCEMF2
CP: I9300ZCELL1
CSC: Unknown
the ROM already installed: I9300ZCEMF2_I9300CHNEMF2_I9300ZCELL1_HOME.tar.md5 So I am now downloading another Chinese ROM (with android 4.3 in it) the file name is I9300ZCUBML1_I9300CHNBML1_CHN.zip so technecally the PDA version is I9300ZCUMBL1
Some informations:
model number: GT-I9300
Android 4.1.2
BaseBand Version: I9300ZCELL1
Kernel version: 3.0.31-1274177 [email protected]#1 SMP PREEPT Thu Jun 20 17:53:58 KST 2013

Here's what I want from you guys:
If I install this ROM, what could go wrong? I mean could I have more problems than i already have?
Obviously, I am trying to do is
1.get rid of the CSC unknown
2.get my IMEI back
If the flash will be succefull Do i have any chance of fixing any of these problems? If installing the new ROM won't do anything about it, how can I fix it?
I hope that my problem is clear. and if you need any more information just tell me, I'll update as soon as possible.

which rom should i install (prefer one with a newer version) in order to keep my SGS working?

Well I would suggest you in the first place to backup your IMEI and only after that you should install custom roms So if a rom would mess up your IMEI you can just restore it. You can install any kind of rom Kitkat, Touchwiz, MIUI, Jelly bean your choice.
I recommend installing ultimarom trust me on this one
