[Q] Samsung galaxy s4 usb mount (internal) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Gods of the Internet - Please help!
Trying to help out a friend:
He has a Galaxy S4 (I9500) Android 4.3.
He took a video on christmas day - one that he cannot afford to lose, but then deleted it (like a professional noob )
Now he wants to try and restore it.
"Use any recovery software" - they said BUUUUTTTT Can only get the phone to connect in PTP or MTP modes, which cannot be used by the recovery software.
So I put on TWRP for the guy but cannot mount as USB (not sure if this is what that functionality is actually for anyway).
In short, If I can get the phone to connect as a USB mass storage device (Internal SD card NOT EXTERNALSD) then my problem will be solved - anyone know how to fix this?

[Q] Usb Storage Mounting

Quick question,
I currently have the Epic, which requires a driver installed on the computer before the SD card will mount properly on a windows PC.
I use my phone to upload things for work now and then, and this is a major hassle for me.
I'm thinking of moving to the Galaxy S2 when it comes out in the US, and I was wondering if the S2 mounts properly without a driver?
It's sad to be jealous of friends with HTC phones that mount properly and don't need drivers installed to simply connect to a pc.
If you set it to 'usb debug mode', it auto installs and will come up as 2 card readers.
It even works on my car's head unit so it is in usb mass storage mode.
Without debug mode it'll be detected as a phone but I'm not sure what it'll come up as since all the pc ive connected it to have samsung Kies.
Personally I use widget apps like 'multi mount sd' so I can still use the phone while the usb is accessible by the pc.

[Q] Why doesn't Linux detect USB Mass Storage mode after ICS upgrade?

As many people are experiencing with the Galaxy S2 and the Sony Experia phones (and others I imagine), I am no longer able to plug my phone in using USB Mass Storage mode in Linux. The storage won't show up in Gnome's file manager (I guess it won't mount or can't mount). The device appears when running "lsusb" to see usb devices.
Anyone have this problem? Anyone figure out a solution or have any idea how to figure this out?

[Q] recover deleted file (internal sd) with broken screen

Hi all,
A friend of mine dropped in June his Galaxy s3 and broke the screen. It should be all stock (no root and no usb debug) and the software version should be the 4.1.1 or 4.1.2. He said to me that two days before the accident he deleted some files (pictures) and want them back again. The pictures should be recoverable (with recuva) but i don't know how to access to the phone. When i turn in on the screen is black but the phone seem to work because when i plug it into usb i can access (in mtp mode) to the internal and external memory as usual. Is there any chance to control the phone via PC and then root it and check "usb debug", and if not is there another way?
thank a lot
none can help?

[Q] I cannot mount my internal storage via USB to PC

Hello guys,
This is my first post and this place is still new to me so bare with me.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus. Rooted. Android 4.2.2
I am looking to recover some deleted files in the internal storage however whenever I plug in the USB to the PC, programs like "Paragon Backup and Recovery" and "Remo Recover for Android" cannot detect the device.
USB Debugging is checked.
I have been searching but no luck. Maybe someone here can help.
Thanks!
try kies and wandojia to update the lastest driver, it would help

sometimes change to another port would help
and also, you could switch mode (MTP, Camera, Mass Storage) and sometimes with debugging.
Eventually your PC would recognize and thus you could access to the internal data!
TRY harder man

I tried all that. There is no option for Mass Storage. Otherwise I wouldn't be here lol.
Are you sure you have installed every drivers?

You could use the Chinese synchronizing software "Wandojia". It could auto-detect and install the driver for you!
Or sometimes the option is hid under the category of more settings- wireless and networks- USB utilities
Or in storage, but you have to press menu to select the option
Just keep trying, good luck !
