Update
Not KitKat For me either, apparently a minor bug fix and a fix for users unable to connect to roaming when abroad.

All I've found different so far is the front touch buttons now have a option to add Quick Memo launch or Notification open/close to the current buttons but only a maximum of 4 buttons and all are on presets.
also no 3g/H notification on signal bar.

Under "Mobile Networks > Network Mode" there is now the option to choose "Preferred Network Mode > GSM/WCDMA/LTE" which wasn't there previously.
Strangely, *#*#4636#*#* ->phone information no longer works? It just says "This application does nto work onthis device."? I just wanted to check what the settings were.

I'm asking because I have the lg g2, I bought it from Hong Kong and its firmware is the Hkg and it is not contain the toggle for 4g. Hence, I go into the secret menu and activate lte but I have not yet seen the 4g on my signal. I ve checked and my area has excellent coverage of 4g. Do I need to contact with 3?

I think they activate your SIM for 4G? I got mine from a different network and was told by Three that their system would recognise a 4g capable phone on their network and push an "update" to enable it.
My G2 didn't have the LTE option in the menus before this update either, so maybe you need to wait? I know they were doing the iPhone first.

Software version D80210f-EUR-XX (I was 10b previously).
Still trying to get LTE on my screen - Reading is a little mentioned early roll-out patch for 3. Then again got 22Mbps download on Speedtest the other day which is very pleasing as a before LTE speed!

I know its cumbersome, but until we have roms with custom toggles in the notification bar pulldown, go to settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks > uncheck data enabled.
I don't have a note, but this has been the same on both my infuse and captivate. Should be the same or similar for the note. Yeah its cumbersome, but it works.
Also, if you stay connected to the same wifi, it shouldn't use data anyways, but I suppose this way makes sure.

Blown, welchert, and various. Thanks so much for making an android noob feel at home! While the LTE issue isnt resolved, a major worry of mine is!
No problem. And I'm not exactly sure, but there may be some code that you can dial to force 3g data only. I know for my infuse there are codes to force edge, but I have no clue about lte. Anybody with any knowledge of this should definitely chime in, because once I get my note ill definitely be interested in turning of lte as well.

If you arent in an LTE supported area you have no worries. ATTs network isnt like verizons where the phone will constantly be looking for LTE. If you are in an LTE area and just dont want to use it you will have to alter APN settings to one that only uses H+. You should be able to use the same settings from an H+ only phone.
Just go in settings, wireless network, mobile network, network mode... And you should see this

unfortunately that option isn't in the at&t version... i live in an lte area, but for battery reasons i may want to turn it off some of the time, but not something as difficult as changing apn settings every time.
If there's no easy option i'll just deal with it.

As expected, stock at&t ROM doesn't have that simple option to choose which of those 3 data options you want. I'm not surprised considering stock Skyrocket also doesn't give you this option.

Verizon doesn't search for LTE constantly if you aren't in an LTE area.
I spent some time in Northwest Houston recently and my 3G connection acted awfully strange. If I opened settings, it would frequently say "disconnected" under mobile network and would not sync gmail, open web, etc. It would frequently try to connect and stay on for a short bit (very slow connection) but go away again quickly.
I updated profile, prl, rebooted multiple times, but finally just gave up while I was there. Most of the time this was happening, I had 4 or 5 bars of signal and could make phone calls without any issues whatsoever.
Is this a Sprint Network NW Houston issue or is this an EVO LTE issue?
I did switch the network to CDMA only hoping this would help and it made no difference.
from what ive been reading this is common for locations that are doing work on getting the LTE upgraded on that tower. Phone is not the issue. I have seen similar stuff around here in Boston. Could be a good sign i am thinking.

There was a 3G outage yesterday afternoon that caused all of Houston 3G to fail. It was fixed around 1400.
That's standard Houston as of late. It varies. The past few days have been better, but last week was awful. Couldn't hold a 3g connection at all. Probably related to the tower upgrades.

hopefully it is related..... I've been bouncing from 1X to nothing all morning.... (by the beltway and 290)
edit: although when it shows nothing (no 1x or 3g), if I look at the Mobile Network Type under settings, it says CDMA - eHRDP (sometimes 'unknown')
I live NW of Houston, but work on NE side. Just connected to LTE a few times at work.

Oh ok. That's about 25 mins away from me so I know I won't be picking up that signal. I hope they flip the switch all over the city soon though.
I have a terrible signal at work. Data is completely unusable on 3g (typical Houston). When I can connect to 4g, the signal is still weak, that part doesn't change, but data speeds are way up.

2. If you need data and voice at the same time, go settings, mobile data and change the network to CDMA/LTE.
3. If you need SmartSync disabled, there is an app in the market for that (SmartSync Disabler). If you don't know what SmartSync is, you don't need the app. LOL

Switching to CDMA/LTE won't enable SVDO.
The MDM9615 in its current configuration doesn't support SVDO and this can be seen in another phone (iPhone 5).
If you want to look at the technical reasons (for iPhone 5 as an example), HTC probably did it to keep the phone so slim and less of a brick.

Will need to look at the FCC docs to be 100% sure on the capability of SVDO and this device.
It's not about the MDM9615 chip config, its about the lack of transmissions and such that limited the iP5, as svdo requires multiple paths.
I'd be surprised if its not supported here on this device for VZ to be honest... The reason iP5 lacks it was merely bc they wanted to cover more LTE bands with one device as opposed to many devices...
This being on VZ I'd think it'd be implemented....less they made other decisions for some reason...need look over FCC doc to see.
In the end looks like a solid device you guys have regardless!

That was what I was referring to regarding config and the 9615 and using different paths, which, according to the Anandtech article, adds thickness and weight. I figured the paths were directly related to the 9615.

No worries.
Yeah it would add weight and such if apple wanted to keep the current antenna design and add the path ontop of it, is the way I look at it.
If I get time ill look around and see on the DNA bc ill be stunned if it doesn't support it.... That is less HTC went to a diff antennae design somewhat themselves too...which is possible.

HTC One
Does anyone else have any side by side tests that show a different outcome? Or is it just the different signal strength on the status bar? ATT is known to have some wacky signal readings..shows higher than actually is..
Feel free to post your comparisons and discuss.

I've see a lot of people complaining about LTE speed after flashing the international roms. I dont have a stock One anymore untill we get a ruu but i do have a stock One X+. I compared LTE speeds with speedtest app on both phones with the same sim sitting in the exact same spot. The One X+ is bone stock rooted with the latest HTC RUU. The One is using trickdroid rom 5.1 with ATT icons. Speeds look identical to me. The ATT Rom the signal was 4-5 bars. The Custom rom was 3-4 bars

This needs to be a flashable zip damn it. And as far as your test goes the issues people are having is the constant fluctuation in signal/icon due to the international rom. Even if it isnt draining power by constantly adjusting at the very least its annoying as hell.
I'm on TrickDroid 3.5. I haven't had a chance to update to 5.1 yet, but it's downloaded
I'm not seeing a difference from a Vivid with a WildChild rom vs the One on TrickDroid. I don't have screenies but I did test it.
I just tested at my office on the One and got 20.1 down and 14.7 up. That is on par with what the Vivid was getting in the same location.
The radio my One came with is the same as the recent .12 Euro update.
If anyone is seeing slower speeds I would think it's an issue with the way they set it up during the flash, either something is a miss in the build.prop or apn. The only other issue I could see is if by some chance the handset they received wasn't already current when they got it and the update wasn't run before rooting & flashing a custom .12 rom.

There is a flashable zip of it..it's called "AT&T_data_icon_fix.zip". It's either in the Renovate or ARHD thread in the main One forum, I forgot which thread...but it was uploaded on Sunday night. I downloaded Trickdroid and didn't see the option to implement it during the Aroma run. I know it's there in the Renovate Aroma install. Every international ROM that I've run leaves the LTE signal stay at one bar...i'm pretty sure it's just a calibration that's needed to match the display signal to the actual signal.

I looked through both of those ROM forums to see if I could find that flash and can't find it anywhere. Does anyone have a link?
I'm running trickdroid. Not sure if this is good for AT&T LTE in my area, just switched from sprint.

OMG that sucks :silly:
My company moved a little over 5 months ago. At my old office we were old about 1000ft from a tower and I got speeds like that. Now, as you can see above, I'm getting about half that. Sometimes a little better.

This was actually while I was riding in a car on the highway in a somewhat rural area. I even get LTE in the local small town that I live outside of. It's a huge step from Edge on TMo or 3g on Sprint. Lowest I've gotten is 15 down, Up is always in the 8-13 range.
I noticed decrease bars to the point where it would say I have no reception at home with international ROMS but I always had 1-2 bars on ATT ROM so I'm pretty sure something funky is going on with international roms on ATT HTC One.
I've noticed with the Int'l stock ROM i usually only get one or two bars of LTE. Once in a whle I get 3 or 4 bars, and when I do... my god....

Yeah, what the hell is this? Is there a different international standard for a bar of signal? It shows me only having one bar, where I had 3 or 4 before on the AT&T rom.
This seems to be the only problem with the stock international rom from what I can tell.
My stock is great

I haven't noticed a difference in LTE speeds between my HTC Unlocked model and my AT&T model. The LTE signal is pretty much the same on both as well. Running latest radio on both.

Question on the side: By saying HTC unlocked model do you mean you bought it straight from from HTC and If yes does it have LTE bands for ATT?

I think that AT&T just customizes its ROM to make it look like there are more bars than there actually are.

Hello,
Today my phone will not connect to LTE no matter what I do. Last night it was on just fine and today I am only getting 3G. I am in the age exact spot where for the last few days since I've had my LG G3 I have had full bars of LTE Spark.
I have successfully updated profile and even PRL.
Any suggestions?

Are you in an officially supported LTE/Spark area? I say this because where i live, i can sometimes get LTE in certain spots, but sprint hasn't "officially" announced an LTE rollout in this area.

I am. The past few days since I've had my G3 I've had full bars of Spark.
Today, even going outside, walking around the building, still no LTE at all [emoji20]
I'm having the same problem, not able to connect to 4g , I'm in Kansas what state are you in, I'm guessing might be just a temporary outage? Grabbing my HTC one m8 in a couple of hours and I'll see if it still grab a 4g signal

Two words for all of you. Because even if they may have told you "rollout" is complete in your area it's probably not really complete.
"Network Upgrades"
And a bit of advice, never ever trust anyone at Sprint about network rollout status.

I had this same problem yesterday. I think it may have been an efs issue I had to restore a nanodroid and restore my efs and the lte was back Atlanta area...
