Absolutely, unfortunately Themer doesn't support custom DPI settings just yet, so all we ask is for you to set your DPI/resolution settings to default for Themer.

Any plans to support custom DPI's and just allow us to realign anything that is out of place? For example I have a note 3 and now that cm11 is out I need my phone running at 400 dpi instead of 480 plus my navbar. Might it be possible to create a sort of section where we can enter our phones actual dimensions, our current dpi and the size of our navbar?

Custom DPI support will come in the future, but right now we just don't have the resources. It would require the whole team to spend a few weeks implementing it, which right now is being used to improve the overall performance/remove bugs and add in some much needed features. Once Themer is more stable and we have some more resources, the dev team will look into custom DPI support :fingers-crossed:

Odd thing is that when I was running a stock rom on my Note 3 I changed the dpi from 480 to 400 and it worked but I just needed to reorganize the widgets. But on cm I don't even have a chance to apply a theme

Yes it is possible. So you can do it.

Do the stock roms have support for lower dpi settings? I'm on tpc right now. Thanks.

That's just an app to change it though right? I was wondering if apps support different dpi on gingerbread?
Multi dpi is not supported by default the same apps are going to be messed up all the time unless you have a rom that supports it if you are still on tpc may I suggest you try saurom?

does the multi dpi mean you can change the dpi for certian apps, if so how

As I understand, multi DPI ROM enables an application to be installed in other DPI settings, (IF the app itself support the current dpi settings, if not (like speed test) will show not in full screen).

Saurom has the dpi fix built in?
Also, can the DPI fix from your alpha ICS rom work on GB?
Much like my Thunderbolt the UI is way too big for my taste, I have a massive screen and so I want to see more.
Has anyone adjusted the DPI on their Note 2 and if so did it break anything or does anything display odd?
Also if you did and there was no issues, what DPI did you go with?
One more...does adjusting the DPI still make apps become "not compatible" ?
Thanks guys!
Yes and yes. There are small fixable minor issues. The only thing that really breaks is alarm clock. The dialer, calculator, and camera are just a little misaligned. You can search for the mod and find opinions on it... I use 240 in my build.prop then use Xposed framework to change dpi on any app the way I want.

Tried the search on here, didn't work well. I did a Google search and I found the page thought.

You have to have Xposed Installer as well. Xposed App Settings is just a module, which is why it doesn't work by itself.

Using exposed do you still run into the compatibility errors when updating in the play store?
Suggestion on a dpi changing app?
How do you restore the dpi if it fails?

yes you need to install the xposed installer app and appropiate module. there is a thread on it. or flash jellybeans rom by beans and its included. the other option is to modify the framework res for each app. I have a thread in the theme section "240dpi apps" that has some listed already modified for 240dpi. not sure if the work on 4.1.2, but they did on 4.1.1.

I am running b16.
in the per-app to dpi I have set touch-wiz to 240dpi with a 800x1200 screen(dp)
when I go back to my home screen I lose a row that I was previously able to have icons on i.e. from 4x6 to 4x5
any way to get back to 4x6 or at bigger?

The touchwiz launcher doesn't have customizable icon rows/columns. You'll have to download a different launcher. Like Nova.

It worked!
I set the nova launcher to 240 dpi 800x1200dp and in the settings it gave me a tablet style menu. (nice)
now I have many, many little icons & folders.
Thanks again,
Rick

I have been running Buzz laucher for some time now and just recently got a beta code to use Themer. My question would be what are the differences? So far I feel they are quite similar with the exception of Buzz having more features because it has been around longer.
Thoughts?
I dunno but if you wanna give up that code, let me know! I'll take it!

One major difference that I found out was that Buzz launcher consumes over 100MB Memory(without any widget) and Themer takes about 40-50MB even on high end theme ...
Also even in Beta stage Themer is much smoother than Buzz (transition animations).
So I guess Themer has better memory management .
Also Themer will have more Quality and Detailed Theme Gallery than Buzz (Because there are many Themers who have their themes on MyColorScreen also unlike Buzz the Theme is validated before it gets published in the Themer themes Browser)...
u dont need to download any external app like UCCW/zooper etc etc
At a first glance, I asked myself the same question... they are very similar in form and function... But I was looking for the 'widget everything' option and looks promising.
I have a question. I've modified a theme I'm using now, if I switch to another theme then go back will the original theme I modified will it be the way I left it?

Export your current theme before changing to other theme. You can get it back at Themer > My Themes > Exported.
Differences are:
1) Our themes are 100% curated. Only the best get in.
2) Themer is true one-click. User doesn't have to do anything to make the theme look just the way the designer intended.

^^ This - 1 click is literally all it takes. No further setting up of widgets is required, unless of course you want to edit the theme.
Also, with the simplicity of themer, I strongly believe that it will gain a massive community behind it once it's generally released. Plus, there's a dedicated forum on our favourite mobile development site too
What's not to like!

I see the benefits. I guess there are a few features I miss over buzz that I would like to see added.
1) Infinite scrolling of both home screens and app drawer
2) scroll transitions (more fun than fictional)
3) a less intrusive menu button capture
I also think it would be great to have an option to retain the AOSP like play store icon in the top corner of the app drawer.
Edit: One more thing I would like to see is the ability to use the theme based icons as folders or standalone app icons via the long press>edit option
Until Themer can handle my Nexus 4 in full screen mode I will be using Buzz for my themes (although I recognize that Themer has better themes etc etc).
I was looking for safer way to change the screen DPI to 240, but was a bit worried about installing any mods. Instead of installing apps, I thought of modding them using Xposed App Settings. For now, I have just changed the UI to 240 DPI and am looking at doing the same for other apps.
For those who are interested, below are the tweaks that I did (will continue to add them as and when I get them correctly on my phone).
I am using [N7100 MK4][23Nov]Dr.Ketan's Custom ROM V5 Deodexed|Prerooted|Note3 Fs, but this should also work with other ROMs too.
Note: I am just sharing what I have learnt and tried. But am not responsible for any kind of issues that you may face.
Install Xposed Installer and App Settings module (check out the respective threads for instructions). Once its ready you are all set to go.
Change the System UI
In the app, search for: System UI.
Activate it and make the following changes:
- DPI: 240
- Screen: default
And then click Save
Repeat the same steps for
Contacts
Chrome
Hangouts
Music Hub - Change the DPI for both Music and Music Hub
ES File Explorer
S Note
Email
Change TouchWiz home
In the app, search for: TouchWiz Home.
Activate it and make the following changes:
- DPI: 320
- Screen: default
And then click Save
Repeat the same steps for Camera,
Check back later for updated list.

Agree, and in no way I am saying your mod is not good. I used them for quite sometime.
Took this approach to avoid reflashing, when you can disable it without reflashing.
Changes to 'Android System'
DPI to 240, and the Screen (dp) to 800x1280 also made magical changes on 412...havent tried on 4.3 yet- if i remeber correctly it made the windows float too and be resizable.
TW launcher looks good even at 295 better than 320 !!

The best is UI SWITCHER, you can change/switch whatever dpi you want. I'm using it flawlessly in my DN3V3. Just had to change the contact dpi to 320 with screen dp 800*1280, and using lg keyboard which is the best of the universe or you guys can use vinney's 240 dpi modded keyboard if you need to use direct input. That's all and BOOM!
