I'm running an S4 I545 MJ7 rooted. I noticed today that my phone was making notification alerts (sound on) but nothing was there in the notification bar. I turned it to vibrate and about 5 minutes later it would phantom vibrate about every 1-2 minutes for the next 15-20 min. I checked my sound settings and alerts but all looks right. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Michael S

Heyy all,if this already being asked before then I couldn't find it so please point me in the right direction.
A few days ago my phone stopped vibrating when I received SMS. I thought I might of knocked it off in the setting or something but after checking to find that it was still turned on I got confused. I've done nothing to the phone which could kill the phone vibrating when I receive a SMS. The phone vibrates when my alarm goes off and every other thing but not when I receive a SMS. I've checked in the service menu as well to see if vibrate worked there and it does. So does anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem as I rely on my phone vibrating to answer my texts.
Cheers
Hi, I don't know if there's an "official" way to do it, but I use AudioGuru to set all volume and vibration settings. Next to the ringtone slider is a symbol of a vibrating phone, and it can be activated or deactivated. Same story with the slider below, which refers to sms: you can check if it's activated or not.
It is activated though. I use Light flow which changes the LED light when I get a notification but it also sets what the notification does like vibrate and such. My ohone vibrates in ever other situation expect when I receive a text.

Loud music plays every time I have a missed call, but like a minute or two afterwards to where I thought it was a voicemail notification sound. Only after the ICS upgrade. I can't find a setting to turn it off anywhere. Only shuts off when I drag the notification bar down. Any ideas? Thanks,
Nila
Edit, I think it's actually a delayed missed call notification, not a voicemail.
Where can I find the setting to turn on the notification sound when the screen is off (locked)? The phone is not muted.

Is it only the sound which is missing or do you not get notifications at all?
If it's only the sound, individual apps have their own settings for notifications, but it'd be odd if all of them have them turned off.
I guess it's more likely that the phone disconnects from WiFi when idle. This can be fixed through settings -> wifi -> advanced -> keep Wifi on during sleep: always.
I can get the notification. It's just the phone not vibrate or play any sound to notify me something is happening. I did the same test on my Nexus 7 tablet, and it vibrates and plays a sound.

In setting -> sound ->volumes there's a "ringtone and notifications" section. Could it be that from some reason it's all the way down?
The "ringtone and notifications" is already set to max.
Does anyone have an issue with notification sounds not working after being put into vibrate and then back to sound. After i get off work, I enable sounds and don't get any notification alerts, only vibrates, until after I restart.

dont get that always works fine for me
When I set notification sounds to mute. They come back on again within minutes and every Facebook notification sends my volume to maximum.
Taking WhatsApp as example (I get the most notifications from this app), when I receive a message, the screen lights up and the notification shows up properly. However, the vibration for the notification comes some seconds later, so that in some cases if I receive the notification on lock screen and power off the display, it wakes up again and vibrates for the notification.
Any hints where this can come from?
If it helps: I have Mi Band paired, getting notifications through Mi Band Tools app, the notification on the Mi Band comes at the same time as the vibration (not the initial notification).
