I think one way is to remove unnecessary apps if you are on stock ROM. This link by @Vivek_Neel may help you to remove your bloated TW Stock ROM...You may give it a try..... after backing up your ROM (that's obvious)....Try Greenify to remove unwanted apps running in background...It hepls saving battery as well as making your phone smooth....Try Kernels which lets you change governors and schedulers values like Apolo and Dorimanx for GT I9100...You can undervolt....underclock...change govornors...etc.....Try various custom ROMs and experiment until you are satisfied....And as Vivek rightly said.... search is your best friend... :good:

Finally installed the QISS ROM... To be frank its a battery saver!! Though its simple package but still has minimum apps to be working efficiently. I hav mentioned the pros and cons of the ROM below.
Pros
1. Light package just ~132 MB
2. Battery backup has gud standby ~ 1-1.5days
3.Doesnt hav much bloatware simple apps.
Cons
1. Doesnt hav much support for theme(MAy be initial stage)
2. Still a BETA version so except problems.
3.NO ONSCREEN BUTTONS.
Apart from these the ROM is really fast.. as ppl said it ll never go slow its GS2..

Gents I have installed it on my SGS2 and to tell you the truth, it is really great. Fast, smooth, new, and the most important battery friendly.
I can provide you later with a Billion Uploads link to the ROM if you want to try.

I said, the pic u posted was of low res..and battery backup means how many hours of display ur getting from tis ROM?
I know they were low res. It was the quickest way to post them.
I get about 14 to 16 hours of standby.
I am a pretty heavy user, I have like 6 email addresses, a couple of twitter accounts, facebook, all syncing, and I also watch internet tv.

Yeah but those are things you can do in gb also
Underclock, undervolt, change governor to powersave, decrease the screen brightness, disable data and wifi.

I think the basic free version of JD can do that, as almost any power saver app...

Flash Unlimited Boost
I am sure many of you already know abt this wonderful app.. This thread is for those who don't know abt it!
It is definitely not my app, but I stumbled across this app referenced here in xda.. it puts any user apps in hibernation until you open them.. reducing background processes from what i can tell you guys so far..obviously every device is different as is every user experience, but i think its worth a shot..
here is the link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
There is also a donate version which lets you put system apps for hibernating as well!
Here's the link for that..

I have been having great results with the 4.4.2 roms Omni, Render CM 11 and AoCP 7. I am running renders CM11 right now. Getting AuTuTu of 12112 and no FC. they are all good just different features.
I am also getting decent performance with 4.4.2. Sometimes battery life not good but overall manageable.

Try greenify.. And if its the battery you have got with the phone.. I guess a battery after 2 years is bound to give lesser battery life.. If possible try getting it changed or get another battery and use this app.. I can assure you that you will get an improved battery life..

I would suggest BetterBatteryStats
I have installed betterbatterystats, but i can't really get any conclusions from what i see there, can you please help me?
Since you have installed an AOSP rom,you will experience battery drain. There is no such AOSP rom which has same battery life as stock sammy rom.

Hello,
Before I get to the problem, let me tell you I'm a complete newbie in matters of custom ROMs and Kernels.
However I did end up flashing CM 10.1 and then CM 11 on my S3 (I9300)
My main aim is to save battery. Are there any kernels that I can install with CM 11 that can save battery life for me? And if possible can you also guide me in case there are any tweaks I need to make on apps like STweaks to get optimum battery usage? Give me exact numbers I need to set.
You'll help me a lot.
Thanks in advance.
