Was told it was possible to root the phone to allow this phone to leave Sprint and be put on the boost mobile network. Can anyone confirm this before i go ahead with the rooting process?

I'm currently trying it out. I bought the AT&T compatible sim from their website, and got the APN settings directly from them. Everything seems to work ok.
From what I have read you can get HSPA+ but not LTE when using the AT&T SIM on straight talk with the verizon note 2. Also in 4.3 there is no need to root to update the APN. Otherwise it works fine.
I was thinking about switching but after doing the math my verizon ETF eats all but $40 of the savings over the next 8 months until my contract ends. Will check it out again come September.

Correct. Our phones do have have the AT&T LTE bands. And actually being able to edit APN's was opened up on 4.1.2 without rooting but the thought is still correct.
i've seen posts about unlocking the sim, but those are for GSM,
I have a sprint one max, currently using it on sprint, but i also have a verizon DNA that i use on verizon. i will soon be wanting to use my one max on verizon, how do i achieve this with the one max?

Can't. All Verizon phones must be provisioned by Verizon. That's why you can never buy an unlocked phone and go to them with it.

i'm still curious and why you couldn't flash a verizon hboot, raidio, firmware, and rom, insert an actual verizon sim card and it work?
i'm sure it wouldn't work to it's 100%, but 90% of the bandwith usage on both devices are the same, both are cdma and LTE.

Verizon has to provision all phones for use on their network. Without their allowance nothing else matters. Imagine their network like a WiFi hotspot. You have the ability to use it but lack the passphrase and no ability to find it out without the owners permission.

i have a verizon droid DNA, with an account, what if i or could i put the "ID" and everything of my max to look like it's the DNA, and flash the verizon MAX rom and everything, just altering the info file to match the new DNA id's so that it installs?

Got this on a trade. I opened up browser and it seems previous owner was looking up on how to retrieve msl. I opened up the service menu and it says cert failed. I odined back to full stock and even did the 727 key pad and it still says the same thing. Does a Sim card have to be inserted to even connect to the sprint network? It has no bars with the little x over the antenna. Is there anything I van do with this phone? Its on nc5 and imei is different from what's on the housing but both read clean and register as sprint note 3. Maybe LCD was replaced?

Did you activate this device with Sprint ? If so, have you tried to update your PRL and a reboot after you odined back to stock ? A sim card is for international use.

I'll have to borrow my friends sprint sim card. I have another motherboard and it connects to the sprint network without a Sim card. That's how I know something is wrong

I will be travelling out of the country for 3 and a half months in May. I am on Fulmics 4.2 currently, Ringplus.
I planned to flash PrimeGSM to gain GSM service and pop in a sim while there to use, then flashing back to Fulmics 4.2 backup (or Stock Sprint ROM if there are any issues) when returning to the US.
Would using a ROM to gain GSM service (my sprint g3 is not international sim unlocked AFAIK) and then returning to CDMA service cause issues with the phone? I know that flashing a ROM doesn't change or alter your phone's activation status, just want to know if doing this will cause any irreversible changes to the phone, never done this before. Will test it when getting there to see if it actually is international sim unlocked by the previous owner (Bought it used) or not., if not will flash PrimeGSM rom for ls990.
Thanks!
So did u use prime gsm? And dod it work?

I actually am using Fulmics. What you do is get on wifi, download Mobile Network Settings app from play store, put in the GSM sim and reboot, go into that app and change mode to GSM/UMTS. Let it read the sim and then change apn for the carrier if youre using data and done
I've been trying to activate a SM-N900P*galaxy*note*3 from*sprint*to boost, I've seen a lot of people doing it and boost.com says it's allowed! Now the 4g lte working fine BUT the*phone*refuses to activate and I have a red x on the right side.
AND boost says the IMEI shows a N900 GSM NOT a N900P CDMA.*
Anyone know what's going on??

I have a Note 3 on Boost Mobile myself. The device must be a clean SPRINT Branded N900P or it won't work.
It is!!!

Drop a stock sprint rom on it, and possibly unroot, and try it again. Boost uses the auto -provisioning so if its not there (Sprint Zone) then it won't work.
