[Q] I have a question for a developer regarding recovery - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have just ported CWM for my tablet (Denver-TAC-70051) that is nowhere on the internet, although I hesitate to flash it, I have a question, If I where to screw up the recovery would android still boot up? and another thing, how could I back up my recovery into a .img, my block structure is quite weird, I will attach a screenshot with it, if anyone could help me I would appreciate i, thanks I

Hi, any progress on this? How did it turn out?
I'm thinking about making a ROM for the TAC70051 as well.. No need if you already got one working. Care to share?
PS: I've got the stock-rom from Denver, if you need that I can give you the link!

[Q] Need to flash back to stock recovery coby 7022

Hey guys. Got a problem here. My Coby 7022(which I have read that the hardware is known for problems) will not wake up on sleep after a period of time, so im sending it back to get an exchange. My problem is....I could uninstall superuser, but cannot find out(and ive looked everywhere) how to go back to original recovery. If someone would be kind enough to give me their stock recovery dump and explain how to do it, id greatly appreciate it.
Any help would be appreciated as I need this done ASAP
Thanks,
Zacho56
I am going to "try" to help you.
1) you want to remove Superuser...that is easy. we can do it later.
2) you say you want to go back to stock recovery? are you using CWM now? FDWN or fastoot?
I will be around most of the day today. reply back soon

Download the zip at bottom of post.
move it to your /root directory of your sd card.
make sure you have no other files named"update.zip"(if you do rename it to something else.zip)
change name of downloaded file to "update.zip"
in settings/about phone or about device you should see an option to update. press that. it will install the update.zip to you device.
please report back and let me know if this worked.
more information:
the stock recovery is <3e> your CPU is a telechips tcc8803. I am not sure what you have been using for a search but insted use tcc8803 .

[Q] HTC ONE stock recovery

Hello everybody, I turned to Google to try and resolve my issue on my own but after countless hours of reading I have been lead here to this awesome informative site. I don't have any experience in flashing roms or jailbreaking ios but have done alot of reading and seem to understand some. So here's my story and I sure hope someone can help me along.
I bought an HTC ONE T Mobile branded off Criagslist for 400 bucks , thought it was a good deal being that it came from a T Mobile employee. I felt comfortable during the transaction and the seller seemed like a good guy. So after a few days with the phone which I absolutley love I checked for any updates and sure enough there is an update available. So I downloaded it and tried to install. The phone reboots into clockwork recovery. Now It has the stock rom on it but he left Clockwork recovery instead of stock. Now here's my problem, I assume after speaking with some friends that the phone will be fine as long as I don't apply any updates. I would love to have the stock recovery on so I can update when needed. I apologize in advance for my newbiness and hope someone can steer me in the right direction. Thanks all. Jeff
Here is a stock recovery I found here a few days ago.

THANKS Slapshot52. But what do I do with it? I don't want to sound like an idiot but like I said I have no idea what I'm doing. I can follow directions rather well. Should I follow the link with my phone and download it? Then unzip? Will it override the clockwork recovery? Sorry for all the questions, I don't want to end up with a paper weight. Thanks. Jeff

You need to flash it over your current custom recovery in fastboot. Here is a guide that will show you how:

CWM or TWRP on Hisense Sero 5, help please

Hi everyone, I'm new here so if I've just posted this on a wrong place please, just tell me. Also forgive any misspelling, english is not my first language.
Fisrt some introduction, I've been having some problems with my new phone, the Hisense HS-L691 or Sero 5, which has a custom android and some trash apps, I've normally worked fine on factory androids if they have everything i want which is not much, after a quick root and some deleting trash I encounter whith my first "big" poblem, the factory android doesn't let me to fully control the volume of my device, which I know it can sound stupid but I can assure it's been annoying, so I wanted to change the android version (maybe a 5.0 or a clean 4.4.4) I start to search and I find some tutorials which worked fine until I find out I need CWM, I didn't know what was that (I know, duh) I start looking and I find out there's no support on my device, I start looking some "universal" tutorials which didn't work until finally I lost my mind.
tl;dr: Device's android works like **** and I wanna change it but my device isn't supported.
So I'm calling for help to anyone who can point me on the right direction, I don't know how to code but I consider myself a quick learner if you give me the right resources (I woke up without knowing how to make a hard-reset)
I just need that little push, of course if someone can guide me on the process I won't say no.
Thank you very much for your time, looking forward about your responses.
Beta TWRP Recovery
Hi, sorry for my english in advance.
I've made a beta TWRP recovery image. It starts but crashes after a while. You can perform some oprations and navigate screens but after a while it crashes. If anyone could help us to get a working twrp and a new ROM(Maybe lollipop or MarshMellow) it would be great!
Thanks
Send me a message for the recovery file, cause i'm not able to post link as a new user.

[Q] ZTE n9520 brick recovery

OK, so here is the situation. My ZTE n9520 is/was rooted, however, it also had an update available for a while. I chose not to update it though due to the fact that it was not worth it at the time. I ended up changing devices and gave the ZTE to my other half to use since it was better than theirs. Without thinking, or asking, they did the OTA update and it seriously screwed up the device since it was rooted and thus the partitions were changed. Now it only boots to the system recovery screen due to the update and root conflicting. I hope everyone's with me so far. If I had a computer, I could connect it and go through the lovely process of fixing it that way. As luck would have it, I do not have a computer and it is no longer under warranty. Does anyone know of any way possible that I can fix this without a computer? I actually dropped the phone I am using and it broke, like into a thousand pieces and I have need of the ZTE. Please help me out, your my only hope my good people.
I see a lot of views, but nothing posted. Please help me out.
Any chance someone has an idea how to fix this?
I actually tried that already. A few times. Since it was rooted when the OTA update was performed, the partitions were changed and that is what caused all of this to happen. I appreciate your advice though.
Would anyone else possibly have an idea on how to fix this?
I take it I am SOL with this since no one else will reply?
Would it be possible to download the stock ROM for this onto an SD card and put it into the ZTE n9520 and go through the recovery that way?
So still no possible answer?
Would anyone have a possible answer to this?
I may get yelled at for this, but would getting a copy of the stock recovery or possible stock ROM for the ZTE possibly work? I am trying anything I can and am coming up short all around. I was hoping I would have gotten more information by this point. I know this thread is oldish, but I really don't have the money for a new one and am still without a computer at the moment.
Would anyone happen to know if there is a way to fix the partitions on the device without a computer?
Small question... Would it be possible to flash the partition without a computer? Or TWRP or CWM? I saw somewhere about an Android 4.1 partition flash and was wondering if there was a way to flash/fix the partition without a PC?
I just recently ran into this problem and was able to fix it.
I know this thread is old but better late than never. Perhaps you still need to fix your ZTE Max after all this time.
Here are two links that will fix your problem.
The first is to "unbrick" it. This is really just to install a custom recovery so that you can flash a working rom. It also allows you to flash some stuff that is supposed to fix the partitioning. (Though i dont think that is actually your problem. I think you are just in a bootloop, but for me flashing a normal stock rom through recovery failed.)
Unbrick:

Roms/Partition Fixes:

The unbrick tool requires you to burn a file to a CD and boot your computer with it. I just tried it on my bricked ZTE Max and it works perfectly.
After that just download the rom/fixes you need, put em on an SD card, and flash em through the newly installed custom recovery.
Double post sorry
