Wifi Issue on Omega V21 - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I just rooted my phone from 4.3 stock to Omega v21. I have been having wifi issues since upgrading to 4.3 official so I decided to root and flash custom ROM thinking it would help. The problem however, still remains.
The problem is that wifi will not switch on. The button itself moves but does nothing else. It has switched on a couple of times after manually rebooting over and over, and works for a few seconds then back to square one.
I have flashed the bootloader, modem, and ROM multiple times without any change. I have also opened the casing and lifted the gold antennas ever so slightly to no avail.
Any help will be much appreciated. Cheers!

ICS ROMS + Wireless Problems

Hi
I have tried many ICS roms and they seem to have wireless problems.
at times it takes time for them to connect or at times they are not able to connect. sometime there is no error message but at times i get authentication error (btw authentication credentials are correct). Is something wrong with ICS. Si anyone else have these problems. Is there any fix for it. i have tried many ics roms with different combination of kernels, mostly its the same issue.
i always have to revert back to GB rom and wireless is fine.connects instantly
any help will be appreciated.
thanks
Hi,
Same here. But I can't decide if it is because of juice defender or ICS. In GB worked ok even with Juice defender.

I've had the same problem. Tried many different ICS roms over the last 2 weeks or so.
The last one I tried - HyDrOG3N-ICS was horrible...
Wireless would not connect at all, even though I was standing right next to the router.
After reading through the forums etc I decided to start from scratch.
I reloaded stock Samsung rom with odin, hard reset the phone, formatted my external sdcard and deleted everything on the int sdcard.
I then loaded latest siyah GB kernel.
After this, I install HyDrOG3N-ICS 23.03
Installed GApps
Rebooted and waited 20 minutes (read it somewhere on the forums)
Rebooted and changed to SiyahKernel v3.0beta6 kernel
And finally installed DXLP7 modem.
I then reloaded all my apps from Market (Not apps restored from backups)
After all this, everything seems to work very well... Wireless is connected and working well.
I do have a problem with mobile data disconnecting every now and then, but it returns after a minute or so - might even be a problem with my provider.
I dont know which one of these steps was actually required - but this sorted it out for me.
It's almost like I had 'leftover' bits and pieces of all the different roms I tried... If it makes sense?
I dont know enough to confirm if this was the case - perhaps its not possible.
Perhaps it was just a happy shot that it all worked for me.
If you have a couple of hours spare - give it a bash...
Cheers

i have read many ppl have some issues with wireless on ICS. i was thinking about doing a factory reset , wipe both my internal and external storage.. but seems like quite a big job getting everything back..oh wellif i am really tempted i will go ahead and do it..but will wait for a while for more ICS build to come out.could be a bug in the official roms itself

Neo V Wifi Problem

hey guys.
I'm facing this weird problem on my Neo V. I upgraded to ICS but then downgraded to official GB ROM. Since then, i have this problem with Wifi. My phone connects to the home wifi but doesnt access the internet. I tried reinstalling the ROM, it worked fine in the beginning but after installing all my apps and restarting the phone a couple of times, the problem returned. I tried reinstalling the GB rom several times, and it worked fine in the beginning and problem later. I tried the ICS rom again, hoping the issue wouldnt bother me in that but same story. Please i need an explanation to what this menacing problem could be and how can it be resolved. Already scraped google as much as i could..
So that problem started after you downgraded from ICS to GB? You didn't have that problem while you were on GB or when you upgraded to ICS(that is if you were long enough on ICS)?
Does it happen with any router or only with your home one?
How long does it take to start having problem?
Have you tried to use clean ROM, meaning without your apps(which you install after) or some time and after few restarts?

[Q] Constant connect/reconnect after flash

Hi all... I'm in need of some help, please.
I recently flashed SkyDragon 3.01 LP on my vs985.. Seemed to work fine, but after having a few minor issues that bugged me, I decided to flash back to my old SkyDragon KK image that I had saved (I've restored this before, and it has worked fine).
When I flashed back, however, everything looks "normal" except that my phone is now stuck in a constant loop of 4G and Radio signal disconnecting and reconnecting every 5 seconds, or so (so both stay connected for 5 seconds, then both disconnect for 5 seconds). Wifi seems to work OK. It does this continuously.. I've tried restoring other images (including stock) that I have saved and they all restore fine except for this one major issue.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this, I would greatly appreciated it.
I tried searching around a bit, but couldn't find anything specific to this.. Forgive me if I didn't look hard enough.
Thanks in advance!

flash one of the KK modems
the new build likely put on an L modem, but the old build wasnt setup to take it off.
Thanks!! I'll give it a shot. Appreciate the quick response.

[Q] Xperia U (Wifi turned 'ON' = boot loop)

Good day mates. I have a problem with my XU; whenever I turn on the Wi-Fi on my phone, it gets stuck on a boot loop. May it be on a stock ROM or a custom ROM (ICS, KK, et al.) I've yet to try GB.
I've read several threads in XDA and Google about this and no one has provided a fix or a diagnosis. There is quite a lot of issues like mine not just on the Xperia U, but other Xperias as well. Could this be a hardware problem? Does anyone know where can I locate the file responsible for WiFi so it doesn't get turned on accidentally and having to reflash the whole ROM again?
Thanks fellow XDA members for your future responses!
Finally fixed this weird WiFi bug. I just flashed stock GB. At first when I turned on WiFi, it showed 'Error', but when i tried it again, it turned on, and Bluetooth also worked fine!
Then I thought if I flashed stock ICS and/ir flashed a KK/LP custom ROM, the bug may return. But fortunately, it did not. Hurray for GB firmware! Hope this fix will help others. )

Boot loop

My G3 recently started having issues with WiFi disconnecting and not showing any available networks. This went on for a few weeks, then the phone started to restart itself occaisionally. Now it will not boot, shows the lg screen for a few seconds and restarts. During all this I tried several different ROMs, original ROM when this all started was XDABBEB's 3.1.1. Also tried XDABBEB's 47a Stock ROM and RR Rom. Nothing has worked so I read it might be the battery, ordered a new one that did not help. Is my phone dead or is there a possible fix, thank you for any suggestions.
