[Q] E: Can't mount. (Tried almost everything!!) - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I rooted and installed CM 10.1.x RC2 on my S3 for a bit more than 6 months ago and all went fine. The rom worked just fine, and it was like I got a new phone But bit by bit it started to reboot a random times and then the last day it rebooted and all my text messages was gone. No biggie I thought! But the next day it rebooted again but didn't get past the boot screen, where it says "Samsung Galaxy .....". No matter how long I waited I coundn't get it to start up. I managed to get it to CWM recovery mode but no matter what I did it kept saying:
E: Can't mount /cache/ recovery/ command
Warning: No file_contexts
E: Can't mount /cache/ recovery/ log
E: Can't open --------------=------------
...
...
...
...
E: Can't mount /sdcard/
So no matter what I did it wouldn't do anything!!!
So I tried to wipe everything (cache partition, calvick, facotry) but nothing happened.. I can't restore it or anything..
Then I tried with Odin by using EH03_full_odin.tar with atlas_v2.2.pit but it's stuck at "Set partition". Tried with both "Repartition" checked and unchecked. When unchecked it stuck at "NAND Write Start". So that didn't worked.
Then I tried this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391616 and flash in Odin but that failed.
Then I find a International-GT-i9300-StockRecovery.tar but again failed..
So now I'm really lost, I dont know what to do!
Does anybody have an idea?
Thanks

Does anyone has a clue what do do?

Your emmc chip is damaged and partition structure lost. Either warranty repair or new motherboard required.

[Q] Kyocera Rise - Stuck At Boot Logo and "cannot load volume /misc"

Hello, everyone.
I have Kyocera Rise VM. I was browsing online on my phone then suddenly I get error messages on my phone saying "could not load googleplay", "could not load this and that programs..." so I removed the battery and restarted the phone (just restarting my phone this way several times in the past fixed the problem). When I turned it back on, it is now stuck at the boot logo (RiSE by KYOCERA). Factory Reset in the recovery mode didn't fix the problem. One thing I noticed while I was in the recovery mode screen was that there was an error message on the bottom which says:
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
E:failed to mount /sysprop (Invalid argument)
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
then I hit the factory reset button,
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Data wipe complete.
E; Cannot load volume /misc!
My phone is rooted with stock ROM (couldn't find a custom ROM to flash so I left it as stock) and stock recovery mode. The main reason I rooted my phone was to delete the camera shutter sound and the boot sound files.
Thank you for reading my post!
anyone?1?

Someone posted today that he might of gotten through to Kyocera and they might
Actually provide a method to unlock the bootloader for the Hydro since that phone
Is really similar to the rise....who knows we might get somewhere! Sure hope so cause
I just got this phone ;( anyways any help would be appreciated guys.
unrooted mine fine
when i did factory reset i received this also
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Data wipe complete.
E; Cannot load volume /misc
but everything went back just fine. Stock unrooted VM rise.
UPDATE thought i was not rooted but after reinstalling su and i found out i'm still rooted thought factory reset would unroot but guess not. I have to figure out another way to unroot???

Root Error with Rise
I got the same error when rooting the Rise. It seems to me that previous rooting methods do not seems to work right with v4.0.4. When the root is not completed properly you are stuck in the bootloop and get this error...
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
E:failed to mount /sysprop (Invalid argument)
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
I was able to resolve this by wiping cache then doing the factory reset. I hope this helps!
Same Problem
Same problem from mine too. Replacement is Kyocera Rise for now. Still have Event. Trying to restore functionality.
I've been having this problem too. Stock recovery doesn't fix the problem. I even tried using ADB from my mac to talk to it, but it doesn't seem to talk to the computer at all.
Has anyone figured out how to fix this? If so, why haven't they said anything yet? :/
When u root, b VERY careful. Never EVER mess with any sound files. ONLY app I found that fixes the sound quality is SRS manager in the play store. Only reason it works is because it ADDS files to /system/lib/srs. Deleting ANYTHING in the /system folder will cause problems. Altering anything in the root partition can cause problems. Best advice is if ur gonna use apps on ur devices, do some research FIRST and make sure nobody's lookin for help to fix something that ur lookin to do. As for the boot loader, check changes.com there's a petition going right now for that. And as for a fix, all I can say is good luck because cwm would b an easier solution. VM is loosing money right now because of issues like this one. Once they take the chastity belt off our phones and let us pop their cherries, then I'd suggest rooting. Until then I suggest only CPU tuning apps and leave the root partition ALONE.

Kyocera Rise - Stuck At Boot Logo and "cannot load volume /misc"
I've got the same problem with my kyocera hydro. I successfully rooted mine by was messing around with "build props editor" and changed a heapsize value by accident and it immediately went to reboot, booted thru manufacturer screen and stuck on Boost mobile carrier screen. I get the same screen hard bootin to Android System Recovery screen with the same E: cannot load volume/misc. has anyone found any successful tips cause this really sucks?

Help Repartition A830K Sky Vega Race II

My A830K has got its /data partition corrupted. I need your help to restore my phone.

I have tried online as well as offline update of stock ROM but it doesn't work.
OEM unlock work to the extent of selecting YES but after that phone restarts and nothings happens.
I have tried to delete and recreate the partition but it doesn't work (might be the OEM unlock coming into play)
My phoen is just sitting there since 3 weeks and I cannot restore it. Please Help!!!
PS: I tried posting in the general thread of A830 but did not get any reply.

Stuck at start screen (very weird)

So, when I waked up this morning I found my S3 turned off. Nothing to worry about, I thought, since I use SlimKat+Googy it had already happened sometimes in the past that phone auto-reboots or something.
However, when I tried to turn it on I was just stuck in the bootscreen "Galaxy S III etc", but NOT in a bootloop, just stuck, the slimkat animation never start. I can enter recovery and all.
So I tought "whatever, i'll just wipe". So I did, full wipe and reinstall of SlimKat, just to be greeted again by the same problem. I repeated some times and same thing.
Trying to adb shell it says "- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -" and I can't enter shell.
At this point I was totally WTF, starting to fear the worst. Just now I'm downloading a stock rom to make a last try with it. However I would like to know if someone else had this problem and if they solved it.
Anyone?

Yup, I was waiting for the download to finish. It indeed worked, but I have some yellow debug text on screen. I did a search and seems related to efs corruption or something like that. However I'm now trying to go back to slimkat from here. Now I'm less scared anyway
Ok, now I'm scared again. I get no signal. Nor with stock or custom. Also tried to restore a nandroid and nothing.
Update: I luckily found an EFS backup in the lost+found folder. Thanks god. All working now.

I have second old s3 which I used for over a year before it died. It started to misbehave with a lot of errors popping out from time to time. Then one day it just died. It is rooted but on stock rom and with no warranty and I am wondering if there is anything that could be done to revive it.
Once powering up it gets stack on Samsung logo. When going to recovery it fills the screen with errors with E: as a screenshots attached.any command to wipe or flash causes numerous stream of same errors.looks like it can't see dis disk e at all.is it completely bricked out is there anything that could be done ?

Looks like your emmc might be corrupt try flashing the rescue firmware with odin>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087735 << if that fails I think repair needed.

Unable to install firmware, recovery, through odin and recovery menu

I have a samsung galaxy k zoom, actually its my friend's phone. Few days ago he stuck on samsung logo and he went to a mobile shop. I dont know what he did, he just erased everthing, now when i try to flash any firmware or recovery, i got red line saying that ( unable to mount sys partition, E: cant mount sys partition). Is there any way to fix this
No response from adb before/during/after all this? If I get time off from battling kernel_restart_prepare I can look but there used to be a complete K Zoom M mod/port. I guess you could try that? If all else fails they (most phones) are supposed to try to boot from the sdcard, right? Put Ubuntu on there or something...gotta find some way to run fsck/examine the drive. Bet it isn't hosed, just wrong permissions/wrong kernel/wrong timestamp or something like that....
Yes no responce from adb, and i will try that
