I have second old s3 which I used for over a year before it died. It started to misbehave with a lot of errors popping out from time to time. Then one day it just died. It is rooted but on stock rom and with no warranty and I am wondering if there is anything that could be done to revive it.
Once powering up it gets stack on Samsung logo. When going to recovery it fills the screen with errors with E: as a screenshots attached.any command to wipe or flash causes numerous stream of same errors.looks like it can't see dis disk e at all.is it completely bricked out is there anything that could be done ?

Looks like your emmc might be corrupt try flashing the rescue firmware with odin>> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087735 << if that fails I think repair needed.

my phone was getting slow last week and suddenly yesterday it wasn't responding at all, when i tried restarting it..it stop at the Galaxy S3 i9300 screen
i tried to flash stock jellybean this morning that's when everything went to hell
i think the first error that it wasn't able to write NAND (it may be related that the phone wasn't charged probably,i know that now).. anyway on my several retires i think i might have checked the repartition option accidentally cause now all i'm getting "There is no PIT partition." error
after more searching someone said GT-I9300_mx_20120220 is the pit for galaxy S3 16G..so i tried it, Odin freezes at get mapping
what else can i do?i don't have a warranty so i want to try to fix it myself
PS. i noticed when i put the phone on the charger now ..that the battery picture with the circle above it not responding or moving at all..also the red led is not on!!!

ok, here comes the story.
i know you guys hate when we open new forums, but this here is a topic that i have been dealing with since about 2 weeks ago.
also, i wanted to thank you all for your help, ever since than...
the problem started as i said, few weeks ago. i have an s2, i tried to install a rom, and an error occued. the problem was know that i needed to factory reset and wipe the data from the phone in order to boot the phone. this was not possible due to an internal error (i got sucked), later on, i also discover that the problem i faced was due to the partions inside my phone.so, i tried to fix the partions, but i was unable, until i found a thread here dealing with the same problem on Note 2. so after a lot of work, i was able to repartion my internal memory (lost 6 GB) to fix partions 9, and 10. once that was done i was able to wipe data and factory reset.the problem was now that i was unable to install any rom using odin except CM10 which stucked also at the end of the process. but luckily for me i was able to get into the recovery of CM10 and i installed from the restriction remix rom. after wiping and factory reset, i was finally able to boot successively into the home-screen.
now, my phone seams to have swamped the internal and external memories. in the build in device manager of rr-rom, i only see my memory card labeled as internal. but this is not the big deal. the real problem is that this phone constantly keeps on restarting itself from time to time. so, it shut down from alone, tries to boot up, gets stucked at the logo, reboots itself several time in the same way, until in finally boots successively,
any help??
ah, i just wanted to add a funny fact, which is that on the day i fixed my phone,i accidently dropped it in the toilet (it fall from my pocket, no bad ideas please, it was fully at random from alone). i manged to save it also at that day. so, i some got a feeling that this phone just don't want to get repaired
Reinstall stock rom and start from scratch.

Well I have seen some ridiculous generic topic titles in my time (like "Help" and "Help please" etc) but this topic with its complete lack of a title just takes the crown as the most idiotic.
Hello, everyone.
I have Kyocera Rise VM. I was browsing online on my phone then suddenly I get error messages on my phone saying "could not load googleplay", "could not load this and that programs..." so I removed the battery and restarted the phone (just restarting my phone this way several times in the past fixed the problem). When I turned it back on, it is now stuck at the boot logo (RiSE by KYOCERA). Factory Reset in the recovery mode didn't fix the problem. One thing I noticed while I was in the recovery mode screen was that there was an error message on the bottom which says:
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
E:failed to mount /sysprop (Invalid argument)
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
then I hit the factory reset button,
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Data wipe complete.
E; Cannot load volume /misc!
My phone is rooted with stock ROM (couldn't find a custom ROM to flash so I left it as stock) and stock recovery mode. The main reason I rooted my phone was to delete the camera shutter sound and the boot sound files.
Thank you for reading my post!
anyone?1?

Root Error with Rise
I got the same error when rooting the Rise. It seems to me that previous rooting methods do not seems to work right with v4.0.4. When the root is not completed properly you are stuck in the bootloop and get this error...
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
E:failed to mount /sysprop (Invalid argument)
E:Cannot load volume /misc!
I was able to resolve this by wiping cache then doing the factory reset. I hope this helps!
Same Problem
Same problem from mine too. Replacement is Kyocera Rise for now. Still have Event. Trying to restore functionality.
I've been having this problem too. Stock recovery doesn't fix the problem. I even tried using ADB from my mac to talk to it, but it doesn't seem to talk to the computer at all.
Has anyone figured out how to fix this? If so, why haven't they said anything yet? :/
When u root, b VERY careful. Never EVER mess with any sound files. ONLY app I found that fixes the sound quality is SRS manager in the play store. Only reason it works is because it ADDS files to /system/lib/srs. Deleting ANYTHING in the /system folder will cause problems. Altering anything in the root partition can cause problems. Best advice is if ur gonna use apps on ur devices, do some research FIRST and make sure nobody's lookin for help to fix something that ur lookin to do. As for the boot loader, check changes.com there's a petition going right now for that. And as for a fix, all I can say is good luck because cwm would b an easier solution. VM is loosing money right now because of issues like this one. Once they take the chastity belt off our phones and let us pop their cherries, then I'd suggest rooting. Until then I suggest only CPU tuning apps and leave the root partition ALONE.

Kyocera Rise - Stuck At Boot Logo and "cannot load volume /misc"
I've got the same problem with my kyocera hydro. I successfully rooted mine by was messing around with "build props editor" and changed a heapsize value by accident and it immediately went to reboot, booted thru manufacturer screen and stuck on Boost mobile carrier screen. I get the same screen hard bootin to Android System Recovery screen with the same E: cannot load volume/misc. has anyone found any successful tips cause this really sucks?
Hi everybody... my phone died just a few hours ago.. the battery got to 0 while playing a game... now... while I was playing the game, my phone was flashing yellow bars..? like some sort of "im dying" sort of way...
its the first time that i see these flashes... right after that my phone just stopped functioning.... im stuck on the galaxy s3 logo, it doesnt even REACH the SAMSUNG logo.. so my question is...
is it possible that the INTERNAL memory of my phone, got broken..?
i think that its the internal memory that just died and now i cant use my phone.. installed other few roms and nothing, i can still get to the CMW and DOWNLOAD section but i cant get past the galaxy s3 logo.
do i need to find a samsung center and fix this?
i think that the phone itself came defective, since i've had a few problems with USB transfer ever since 2 months ago phone is "4 months old"
just not long ago i installed ultima rom and it fixed my usb file transfering situation... but now my phone just completely died. its not even ****ing bricked. thats the worst part!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you done a reset via recovery?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Go into recovery, clear cache and dalvik plus fix permissions then reboot. That is the easy fix, if it doesn't work then restore your nandroid backup or super wipe and reflash your rom.
If you are lucky then your sudden shut down only corrupted the system or data partition.
1. The galaxy hangs during normal work(it had custom ROM but was working fine for years), the display showed messed up image and was unresponsive, had to remove the battery(so it was caused by bug or flash storage error).
2. The galaxy could no longer be booted, it was stuck on Samsung Galaxy S II screen and in bootloop(if the flash storage partitions are bugged, I guess it can't boot the SPL and the device is stuck in the main bootloader, is it located in separate ROM chip or in the storage flash chip?).
3. It couldn't boot to recovery, only to download(odin) mode(again I guess it's part of the bootloader on the separate rom chip).
4. Tried to reflash, had to interrupt the operation because it didn't started at all(no progress on NAND write flash).
5. Tried to repartition with .pid file, again no progress with the operation.
6. After that, the device is completely dead, we tried removing the battery, using the charger and other common stuff but it can't be started anyway.
So can the failed repartition/flash operations bug the ROM bootloader so when you press the power button the CPU can no longer execute any instruction(I guess it's hardwired to some init instructions in the bootloader).
Any information about the internal storage chips or any ideas what to do?
Same problem here
Hi I've got the same problem with my phone since i've updated my cm13 on sgs II phone seemed to be working perfectly but around month later woke up and saw that my phone stuck on samsung logo (Same as your did) what i've done was restart to see is it works or recorvery boot up but nothing seemed to be happening. After some time decided to reinstall OS using odin but phone been comp[letely inresponsible to what i've tried to put on it (always been stuck on Nand write start (tried everything)). I tried to repartition it again but after that same as your phone died without any sensible reason. I "temporary" fixed it by pealing off the motherboard specific conductor. It even boot up but afterr that i runned out of charge died again. I can feel that phone is starting to be warm just like it's working but i still have black screen of death, so is there anybody who might actually help with this thread ?
