Apex Launcher
or
Nova Launcher
or
ssLauncher
They are so similar... can´t decide
or is there one "HAVE TO" feature, mybe for a tablet, I am not aware of, one has - the other doesnt´t that decides it all?

Personally, I love Nova Launcher because I don't use a dock and have a two finger gesture to open the app drawer.
I'm using apex launcher. It has tablet mode to hide the dock. Can use gesture. And the most important thing, I can install apex notifier to show notification bubble over the app icon

I just installed nova launcher to compare with apex. Surprisingly, all the nova features are present in apex. On top of that, apex has KitKat style search bar, customizable desktop portrait grid, Apex notifier as mention before, smoother drawer scroll.
I suggest u install both launcher and compare them to see which one u like

I have both, but have a slight preference for Apex. There is not much difference between the two. One thing I like about Apex is drawer animations seem smoother.
I have only used Apex and Nova. You can't go wrong. I personally decided to buy Nova. Nova also has a notification bubble addon. Plus widgetlocker is made by the same guy(s) which is a plus.
It doesn't really matter though. Both great launchers. Both free to try out.
You can get Go launcher prime for free at the moment via an In-app code (appsales)
Nova FTW all day EVERY day

I acquired Nova when it was on sale a while ago. Been very happy with it.
Nova
I've being trying them both on the tablet.
Nova seems faster.
You can't go wrong with either. They are both free so give them a try and see what you like better.

Hi,
I have been using ADW Launcher for my SG 3 on Froyo. But is this the best launcher app available? How does it compare with the Launcher Pro as well as the stock Android Launcher?
Also, can i uninstall my stock android launcher using Titanium backup?
ADW EX is the BEST!
it all depends on what you want from a launcher, everybody is different.
try:
zeam launcher (free-lightweight)
go launcher (free-has some useful things i havent see in other launchers)
helix launcher
launcher pro (free and paid version)
live home
...
and decide
for me personally its between zeam and go
edit: fixed helio to helix
I like both ADW EX and Go Launcher EX. My number one thing is horizontal scrolling in the app drawer. Vertical scrolling is a joke and completely useless.
Imo, ADWEx. Hands down. The customization is just very high and the 4D gingerbread-drawer style is most epicly epic
ADW EX rocks! Would love a scrolling dockbar on it though (like in launcher pro)

Is ADW EX worth buying? What is the battery / system performance?
if your main concern is battery/system performance get zeam. its free
Will try zeam then.
There are
Launcher pro
Zeam
Go launcher
Adw launcher
Live home
aHome
Gigerbread launcher
Helium launcher(I don't know this one. I just saw something in previous post)
I am using adw. But there are no big diferences between launchers. Everithing is better than stock one. If I should say what's best:
1. Adw launcher and go launcher.
2. Zeam and launcher pro.
3. Others

spark is also something to look out for in the future, its kinda new and on version one.

MY advice is Adw launcher or Gigerbread launcher. I'm using ADWLauncher, but if you google the different launchers, you can see what's works best for you as an individual! everyone has different looks i.e. pros and cons

Gingerbread launcher sucks ! All u get is the dock. No customisations nothing !

ADW or check em out yourself.
I think GoLauncher is the best. For me it looks way faster than ADW.
Deffo LauncherPro for me, quickest out of the lot, and the dock customisation with swipe gesture gives you many more options for quick launch compared to other launchers.
But as everybody says try a few before you buy, as everybody individual.
I use *spark.
Launcher pro is my personal favourite. Swipe gesture actions with scrolling dock bar means 30 shortcuts on the dock alone. Invaluable.

You mean 15, right?
In my current HTC Sense version I can switch the app drawer to a scrollable, vertical list view.
I've been looking to move on to a newer ROM.
Sense 4.0a doesn't seem to have this option, and neither do Trebuchet, Apex Launcher, GO Launcher, or any other that I have tried.
I absolutely hate viewing my apps in a grid. It's much harder to look through, and it looks iphone-like.
Is there any current launcher out there that supports this? Or any hack or tweak?
You can try Launcher7?
Ok, thanks. Seems a bit drastic though.
Any other suggestions?
Am I alone in wanting this? Surely some other people prefer a list to a grid?
Don't know of any launcher that has a list view app drawer but a work around is to use a third party app like AltDrawer. You can use it instead of the launcher's inbuilt app drawer.

try ss launcher, very smooth and fast...
---------- Post added at 09:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:49 AM ----------
i am using ics in my x8,ss launcher and launcher pro is working fine.In these launcher you can use drawer as list view.
On Go Launcher, you can go under prefrences, then app drawer settings and then choose app drawer scrolling orientation. There you can choose vertical continuous. If I have to be with pages, this won't help you

that's not really what he was asking for. he wants the apps to be in a list as in windows phone 7 launchers. to answer you OP question, I'm quite sure that ss launcher does have the feature you're talking about. the other option has been isted before, that alt launcher app is quite smooth
LG Launcher... ADW + Sense MOD, Samsing TouchWiz Launcher...
Please delete
No adw???
Apex?
Zeam?
rosie?
ADW Launcher Ex, until Apex...now I am loving Apex over ADW Ex, for these reasons:
-Folder Styling (Circle/Square/layered etc..) maintains when added to the dock. ADW uses the 3 icons spread out, with a vanilla folder background when added to the dock...(maybe I am missing the folder styling when in the dock?)
-Transition Animation "Card Stack". I am tired of the ADW transitions...card stack is a clean refreshing transition that I am enjoying for now...
-Displaying Visual of Widgets in the App Tray. Fantastic!

No ADW EX?
Probably the best most customizable launcher with the best dev..
Although I like Sense so I voted Rosie
360.....launcher pro used to be my favorite

Trebuchet for me. It's just simple enough.
Edit: Tried Apex and I'm impressed.

My personal favorite is Apex, but since it isn't listed, I voted for Nova, which is also cool.
I've tried Launcher Pro, Rosie (obviously), Go Launcher EX, and Nova. I stayed on Go Launcher for a long time, but I decided to try Nova after seeing that it provided gmail unread notifications on the gmail icon. Nova provides more space on my home screen for my Android Agenda Widget. It also seems smoother and faster than Go Launcher. Thus, I am sticking with Nova for now. I've never tried Apex.
simply the best launcher is GoLauncher EX.

If I were you I'd remove rosie. If you have rosie you might as well add touchwiz and motoblur. I'd stick to 3rd party launchers only...
I initially installed Apex launcher and like the way the settings are organized. And really like that it has the Keep in Memory setting (thought I haven't experienced any redraws with other launchers). However it's not very smooth in a number of ways. Scrolling in the app drawer going right-left, scrolling between homescreens sometimes, opening apps from home screens is often not smooth.
Nova on the other hand seems to be very good, but I'll have to pay to get all the features of Apex Free (which is fine).
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this behavior with Apex (I've experienced the same on two other S3's).
Well …Liquid smooth on my S3
No lagging, and Apex is is best launcher ever used
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yeah, they both have drawbacks. Nova is indeed smooth, but no dock background and is glitchy with transparent nav bar. Apex, more features, less performance. I'm stuck in a rut, because I want to change my home screen, but I'm afraid I'll have to switch to Apex. Oh well.
>-Sent From Something That's From Somewhere-<
Yes.
I have used both but I like Apex Launcher most because it is more customisable than Nova launcher.
U can also change the icons.

Its amazing.
U may like it.
U can find it on play store.
Here is a screen shot of my home screen having Apex Launcher.

Go. Hands down the smoothest. Although battery sucker.

I would say Nova, but the new Beta version.
It's crazy fast (Set the Scroll Speed and Animation speed to "faster then light"),transparent statusbar support (the only launcher that actually made my statusbar transparent ) and has a Kit Kat look. Tons of customization. What more do you need ?
I have 2 launchers for you. First of all is Apex Launcher it's smooth and faster and the second is KitKat Launcher it's great to live KitKat experience.

Plus this belongs in Q&A (just for future reference)

I can't believe you're discussing this...it's all matter of taste, and that's very individual. After all, all of them are free on GPlay, so try it, only you know what suits you best, and it cost nothing.
waking the dead is my thing!
any way....I have been using go launcher. found on accident. It is really neat and I am just starting to understand it fully. Now Im seeing here that apex may take up less memory?

I had Apex.. Once. Then I downloaded Nova Launcher beta and I´m still using it No regrets about it, pretty smooth and easy launcher.
Just my opinion
You should try adw launcher. It is the only one I found that has a categorized app drawer. Makes things soo much more organized. And you can just put folder-like category shortcuts on your homescreen for easy access.
Beautyful transition-effects, great dock customisations... Gove it a try, if you are looking for a new favorite launcher.

Is there a launcher that allows alphabetical listing in the app drawer like in the samsung touchwiz?
I just installed holo laucher as the first since I bought my GN3 last year. it looks smooth and very customizable as I can finally change the grid's density from 4x4 to more icons in the home screen but I miss that one column list like app drawer from touchwiz
ADW .
ADW launcher EX pro is the best launcher i found for me
it is really awesome , just try it
fast , easy , have a lot of customizations

I installed Nova and I must say I'm pretty impressed so far. I can configure the apps drawer in an alphabetical list style and much more.
One thing I find a little disappointing but that seems to be the same problem for all launchers is that the non resizable widgets are screwed up if I add them to the home screen when the grid size is changed to 5x5 or more
