[Q] HTC one stuck in bootloader loop, not rooted! - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Last night, my HTC One Mini died on me. Upon plugging it in and rebooting, it sent me to the bootloader screen. It said as follows.

I clicked on fastboot, attempting to hit "Reboot" "Reboot Bootloader" and "Power Down" but all led me back to the same screen. So I scoured the internet, finding various fixes. The ones that didn't involve the computer, all didn't work (such as holding down the power button in bright light), and all the others involved "rooting" the phone. I am not nearly tech-savvy enough to do anything involving code of the sort. I also have no backup (noob move, yes I know). Is there any way to fix my phone without losing any of my data or having to use code or rooting (knowing me, I would end up destroying the thing).

Hate to say it but try the factory reset option. You will loose everything, but you SHOULD(don't hold me to it) regain your phone.

Well I tried that, but it just rebooted me to the same screen. I guess i just have to go to the store and have them take a stab at it because I am NOT gonna root that thing :/

Help. Unrooted HTC one won't boot
I was updating my phone through my PC and left it overnight. I woke up to meet it in the bootloader screen and since then nothing has worked. I can't select any of the options. When I move to an options and press the power button nothing happens.

My Hero is stuck on HBOOT

After my battery was empty i had to restart my Hero and now it's stuck in HBOOT
I tried already almost everything. I can't go to recovery, only to clearstorage.
I've connected my phone and tried many ways to boot in recovery but my computer doesn't recognize my phone(error: device not found).
When I'm in HBOOT i have two options, simlock and fastboot.
If i press back for fastboot nothing happens, and if i press send for simlock it says open file fail, Reboot device?

Have you tried rebooting in recovery to see if that works?
Can't seem to get into recovery... It just always comes back to hboot( or clearstorage), no matter what combination of buttons i try
i have the exact same problem, i am in need of a solution as well
Someon who can help us?

Did you install any other ROM aside from the official ROM code?
I installed the Modaco Rom 2 weeks ago, and it worked fine all the time
Damn, I'll guess it's bricked if nobody knows the answer...
Strange, without doing anything...
have you tried booting/flashin the recovery image from fastboot mode?

I guess I also had a similar issue this morning when I was trying to root my phone and it was stuck at 41% while updating ROM. I just did it again after plugging out the USB Cable and running the Ruu.exe and it updated the ROM within 5 mins. I guess in my case it was a case of my Windows getting hung (I was running it within Mac using Parallels), and it just worked after inserting the USB cable again.
Try running the update from another computer (after installing HTC Sync on that ..)
Good luck!
Hi guys, I have exactly the same problem.
One night the volume button would not work. So i rebooted to fix the problem. It rebooted into HBOOT. The screen with the 3 skateboards?
I only get two options
<Back> Fastboot Mode
The back button does not trigger fastboot!!
<Send> Simlock
Doing this only says
FAT32 Init Ok
Open File Fail
Reboot Device?
<Menu> Reset Device
I do so but it reboots directly into hboot again.
It also does a SD card check when it boots up onto this screen, says something like
herodiag.zip
etc etc
and it says not found i think, it goes very fast.
Anyway I am very frustrated. I was using Modacos 3.0. Without many problems.
I have a bad feeling that my phone is bricked.
Any help would be much appreciated.
And yes I have already tried countless combinations of button presses, all still go back to the skateboard screen.

this may sound like a silly comment, but to me it sounds like your VOlume Down button is stuck.
anyone else with a perfectly working hero can try this.
no matter what combination of buttons you press, if you have volume down pressed, it goes into hboot (or it seems to on mine, anyway)
O ok, any idea how I can sort of unstick it?
Seems like a good explanation.
on my cdma hero, following the directions i found online everywhere(hold home and boot) i was getting a HBOOT screen with only an option to erase all settings until i:
1. pop battery
2. reboot while holding vol-down, back arrow and power button
3. this time at the HBOOT screen there is an option to enter recovery mode(i think with a home press) fastboot or simlock
moisture in your HTC hero
It's possible that your 'volume down'-button is stuck because of moisture in you hero. I had the same problem. You have to warm your hero with warm air. CAUTION, make your hero NOT TOO HOT.

Trying to restore a stock-unrooted phone.

I must admit, I don't know much about HTC devices. I've been on Moto devices for years. Unfortunately for me, when a co-worker screws their phone they come to me shouting "you hacked your phone, fix mine!"
This particular case is a doozy and I've never seen any problems like this before. I've searched the forums quite a bit but only found semi-similar problems with devices being rooted and such.
The scenario is apparently she was playing a game on her stock, unrooted, HTC Evo 4G LTE when the phone rebooted for no reason. When it restarted, it would only go to a white splash screen with the following information:
*** LOCKED ***

This whole screen is a new experience for me and the catch is, I cannot make a selection. I can press the power button all I want at any of the options, and the darn thing will not do anything.
The only thing I can do at the moment is turn it back off and let it charge.
A few days ago when she first brought it to my attention, I ran threw some trouble shooting scenarios that Motorola users should go through, the first of which being make sure the darn thing is charged. We did so at work, and when she tried to boot it again, it gave some errors about trying to load a .img file as well as a .zip file under the information screen posted above.
I assumed that this was the phone trying to boot from a system image that was corrupt or not there. Unfortunately I don't have the exact information as I cannot replicate the error right now.
I was hoping that I could bring it home and either put an "update.zip" file in it and have it "repair" the system files, or push a stock system onto the device through a Windows app, but I'm not coming up with anything in my searches.
Can anyone shed some light on this situation for me?
I'm positive it was unrooted and stock. She removed the SD car before letting me take it, however, I do have a spare I can use to put any files on it should I get the options to work.
Go get the RUU zip file from http://unlimited.io (choose S-off exploits > Dirty Racun > Evo 4G LTE > then on the right side is the RUU.zip download and then put it on the sdcard as "PJ75IMG.zip" minus "" and the caps matters in this case.
Thanks for the info. So far I've been able to replicate the previous error message which was stating it was missing the exact image file you pointed me to.
I put the .ZIP file into the root of my spare SD card and slapped it in. The phone started loading it automatically, and stops once reaches "Parsing... [SD ZIP]" with a number of options (1-19)
The only button that does anything, maybe helped by the fact that the Volume down button is apparently not working, is the volume up button. If I hold it, it will ask if I want to load the .ZIP file. If I let go of the button at all, it immediately tells me: "Cancel update! Press power to reboot"
The same thing happens if I just press the volume up button at that same screen.
After this, I figured out how to boot into safe mode, but don't know where to go from there as a normal boot is still impossible, and I need to get the pattern to unlock it from her later today...
I thought the ruu was ran from fast boot USB from your pc
Sent from my EVO 4G LTE using xda premium
RUU is run through fast boot and on board the device. You need to delete the game app if you can get in through safe mode.
If your in safe mode when you get the unlock pattern. Go into settings/sd-card/factory reset. Remember to export her contacts to the SD card because if you don't they will be deleted unless she already synced her contacts via google.
#Root-Hack_Mod*Always=LTE
Okay. So far I've been able to export everything from the phone onto my SD card and my computer. Managed a factory reset, but in the end, it's the same results. Safe mode seems to work, but when I boot normally, without the SD card in, I only get the white screen, (Hboot? Bootloader? I dunno) and when I have the SD card in, it tries to load the image files, but won't let me because of this bug with the volume up button.
Did you select factory reset from within the phone itself or threw the boot loader also when you say white screen, is there any kind of errors or information on the screen ??
#Root-Hack_Mod*Always=LTE
I did it through the phone it's self in safe mode. I took my SD card out and rebooted before I did so.

That's just the thing. I can't actually make a selection. If there was a way to initiate it at the computers end like I can with my Spyder, I don't think I'd have a problem. I don't have any software or drivers though for the Jewel.
Sorry for a late response. Got a bunch of double shifts lately.
Just another angle to attack this issue....the volume down button isn't stuck in the pressed position is it? From how I read your OP, it sounded like it was behaving as if volume down is being held down during bootup which would keep getting stuck at bootloader....if its been verified not to be stuck then I apologize for the tangent...hope you get it figured out...
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
I understand the confusion about the button.
It isn't actually stuck in the pressed position to my knowledge. It seems like it just doesn't register anything when you press the button. I have removed the rocker for an idea for a test, but still got the same result.
I can't be completely sure it isn't stuck past the button though. The actual mechanism clicks like it's supposed to at least.

[Q] Help! Brick?

I was flashing Vipers RUU to go back to S-on from Moonshine, While it was flashing my phone got disconnected from my laptop and now I have a black screen that's says htc and triangles in all 4 corners when I plug it into my laptop. Now my laptop wont recognize the phone.
when unplugged I have a white screen that says

Can it be saved?
Your phone isn't bricked. From the bootloader screen (the screen with the information you posted) use the volume buttons to highlight the "Reboot" option, then hit power to select and see what happens. Your other option is to run ViperRUU again from the bootloader via Fastboot USB mode.

The bootloader screen has no other options besides the RUU, I tried the power button on it (it didn't work)
How can I use fastboot USB mode if my laptop isn't recognizing the phone?

HTC One Max Decrypt Screen - not rooted

So my phone is S-ON and locked. Turned it on and boom "DECRYPT PASSWORD" with 30 tries and no matter how many time i click the 30 won't go down, there wasn't any update or anything.. It tried unlocking using htcdev.com, everytime I flash the unlock token and hit "yes" on the max the phone just restarts and that's it.. It won't get unlocked when i go to bootloader again, it doesn't even do the factory reset which happens after a "yes" for an unlock.. I tried this 10 times.. 10 times say thing, it won't unlock.
I went into stock recovery.. but it's corrupted.I held power and pressed volume up.. nothing.. it kept the phone with exclamation point, tried every combination on the internet.. volume up long press.. just a pres.. volume up + power button, everything.. won't take me to settings to factory reset or format data
USB Debugging is not enable and CANNOT be enabled because I can't even get to my phone settings, obviously.. So basically rooting tools won't work.. and getting S-Off won't work either..
I'm litteraly STUCK.. I can't do anything at all: can't unlock, can't use the phone, nothing.
Any ideas? Please read the whole post cz i think I tried all :/

How about going to hboot and doing a factory reset. I think your phone is encrypted

broken recovery and no rom/os

I had a look at the suggested topics already mentioned surrounding my issue. "ilikebubbles" was the closet match, except they had an accessible OS where debugging and fastboot can be checked.
Im using and m8 international 2014 rooted device. build and software numbers are unkown at the moment as i didnt make a note of them when i rooted 9 months ago.
The problem began last night when i tried to flash "theunlockr.com/rom/ehndroix-v-14-10-22-rom/"via twrp. twrp in the past has always been super reliable and flashes roms at ease. last night i formated internal and wiped dalvick etc and then phone rebooted and tried to go back into recovery. the twrp splash screen flickered for a bout .6 of a second a few times and then hangs on the first htc splash screen. The only intervention that gets me into bootloader is holding power and the down vol.
i noticed i have s-on and cannot find a tutorial anywhere online i.e here, xda, google and utube on how to make this "off" Do i even need to for fixing twrp? All my adb's are current and i have the latest version of htc sync.

yeah, hard reset (with vol down and power held down for 10 secs) seems to load bootloader but when selecting the factory reset option it just goes into the boot cycle as an infinite loop not progressing beyong the attempt at launching twrp. the only way to shut the phone off is to excecute the fast boot option (not pc plugged in) and hold vol down and power. Thats about the full functionality i have at the moment. All data is secured by titainuim on sd card and cloud.

First follow this guide to unlock bootloader and achieve S-OFF. This will wipe your data.
Then follow this guide. Its very detailed. Make sure you follow the steps to restore your phone to official firmware.
