Hi everyone.
I'm at the point of losing my mind with this bloody app helium..
When I first used the app for my nexus 7 too galaxy nexus it was fantastic and did everything I expected it to do,
so much so I bought it for like £2.
I currently have 3 devices now, Nexus 7 tablet, Galaxy nexus phone and P880 LG...
im gonna be selling the Gnexus and moving onto the p880.
The problem now is that two bugger apps hillclimbracing and fail hard wont seem to restore from either
dropbox, google drive or by finding it from the wifi list and copying it across the network.
The app says "back up complete" however they wont restore to the other device, it just fails (I have also checked and made sure that the apps are not running in the background before I try to overwrite them)
the p880 and Gn are both rooted and running MIUI and the Nexus7 is rooted and using stock rom 4.4.2
all permissions are set to allow...
can anyone recommend another app that might just do the job without the head ache?
one thing I don't get with helium is when you go to restore and app and its not installed
its wanting to connect to play to download it first, then over write it?
I was also wondering if games like this have copy protection on them but I don't see why
when they are free?

Has anyone found a way to get Sirius/XM working on an Android Tablet? I have an Archos 70 and I downloaded the Sirius/XM app from their website and it does not work on the tablet. It just signs in forever until you cancel it or the device goes to sleep. I tried the app from the Canadian site too because I read it was a differnt version but it does the same thing.
Not sure why it would work on a droid phone but not a droid tablet running the same OS but I was hoping someone figured out an alternate way to do this or a fixed app for the tablet. This is about the only thing I haven't been able to do with this tablet. Any info is appreciated.
Same issue
I have been wondering the same thing..the app looks great, I don't see why it won't work, no error or anything just never comes up and takes you back to the login screen. The only thing I could come up with is the screen size, during the login its also supposed to be downloading the channel art, etc, maybe its an incompatibility with the screen layout but it seems like it would be a good place for an error message of some kind.
I hate to say it, but I believe this is a measure that Sirius implemented to make sure that this app is only being used by "authorized" devices. The "checking for updates" screen that I and everyone else seems to be getting stuck on is likely their way of making this app a "protected app."
I just hope that there are enough fans of both Sirius and the Android tablets that someone will make a hack or a work-around to get this app working. It works great on my Incredible, but I would LOVE to have it working on my A70.
Just installed the Sirius XM app on my Vizio Tablet with the same results.
What is crazy is that : siriusxm.com / player loads fine with Flash.
But there's no way for me to enter my login and password into the Flash text boxes. They don't seems to be recognized by Android OS as text entry areas.
I'm running 10.3 of the Adobe Flash plugin on my Vizio Tablet.
I realize this is an old thread but I figured a way to make it work. I simply installled the app on my rooted phone. Then I copied the com.siriusxm.apk to a sd card. Put the sd card in my tablet and copied it to the local folder. Tapped on it to install it and shazam.
Screencap of it working?

Okay, so first I have to have a rooted phone? I have a G1 I am not using, could I use that?
Where do I find the com.siriusxm.apk? I have Linda Manager on the G1, do I find it in the application's folder?
Just tap to install the mentioned file and it should install? Then fire up the Sirius/XM app, log-in and it will work?
Thanks, I'm in the market for a Archos 43 now that the price has dropped. This "trick" might work on the Samsung Galaxy Players that just came out as well.
Im wondering if you put the opened version you took off your rooted phone here would we be able to use it?
would be a great help. My problem is that my account is in the states but im living in canada.
Have you tried the newer SIRIUSXM 2.0 app. They use it with their new LYNX radio which is android based.
no I haven't. They won't even let me download it here in Canada even tho my account is based in the states.

FINALLY !!!!!!
I finally have a working copy of this app on my Xoom. It is in the play store under SiriusXM Internet Radio. It says May 3rd, 2012, version 2.0.0.62. I upgraded from an older non working version today just for the hell of it and to my surprise it logged in and I was listening for a good hour or 2 without interruption. My Xoom will definitely get more use now.
So here is a question...
I have been updating roms on my devices (TP, Samsung Galaxy S devices, etc)for the last year or so.
My question is why do some of my devices (TP to be exact) take advantage of the Google Backup/Restore feature where as my other devices (Galaxy S - Captivate & Galaxy S Wifi 5.0) do not. I mean, I check the boxes during initial setup to allow Google to backup/restore my settings but why do some work and some don't?
When I flash new roms on my TP (CM9) I notice that as soon as I setup my Google account, it starts downloading all my apps that are associated with my tablet. Not 100% but close enough where I have to hunt for only a handful manually. Of course all the sideloaded apps and Amazon App store apps don't load automatically but that's ok. I would then use TIBU to restore data on some of these apps to get the TP back to operational state.
Now, on the other hand, my Captivate (ICS 4.0.3 - ICSSGS RC4.2) and my Galaxy S WiFi 5.0s (GB - Stock rooted and GB - 2.3.6 Custom) do not start the auto restore after the account setup.
Why is this different between devices? Is it rom dependant?
Anyone know?
I noticed this too on my EVO when I used specific roms. For one of my roms, the developer eventually fixed the issue a few releases down the road. That's all I know of that though.
Generally, most rom developers prefer you to use something other than Googs backup. Titanium is a good example. Works well w/ backups, and restore. Alot of apps that are generally for rooting are not in market. Just my opinion...

I get that... that was my understanding and my experience so far... I just always wondered about the purpose of the Google Backup/Restore during initial setup since it never did anything... until the last few rom updates on my TP. The first time I noticed was with XRON GB rom... it was downloading apps (not all) even though I had deleted them all... odd I thought... and then I saw it with CM9 A.5 and A.6... and now with A2... and I am starting to like it... I use my tablet with apps loaded. I don't keep it for just testing...
I do use TIBU but I find it more assuring to install apps fresh from the Market after each update. This consumes a lot of time.
With the latest release, I was able to get my setup with all the apps, desktop configuration, widgets, etc... in 30 mins... fresh to operational in 30 mins instead of 3-4 hours that used to take for me to recreate my settings... I am a bit anal about how things need to look so I would take the time... now it seems I don't have to as much.
I always do a cwm backup before flashing a new rom. After flashing, I do a restore data. This gets all my apps back. It's worked fine so far.
I want to start porting apps. What do I need to know about porting? I have tried porting libs and other data and didn't have luck so I know I'm missing so something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Well if you mean by porting you want to move apps from one device to another I found a good way to do that is to back up all apps via titanium on the device you have and then copy the titanium folder to the sd card you're going to use on the amaze and restore from that. Careful not to restore any system apps but most work well. As an example I subscribe to the wsj and the amaze app is pretty fast and works. On my Prime that version won't install instead they use a much more media intense app which while nice takes 5-10 minutes to load the paper. So I did the above trick and now I can use whatever on my prime, no problems.
Thanks, but I don't own the device that the app is on. I'm trying to get Snote from the Galaxy 10.1 tablet to work on my Thinkpad.
I've moved from a very old Nook Tablet (rooted & running CM11) to the Nexus 9. Absolutely love the N9 but I'm having trouble migrating some old app data (game level info for apps like Candy Crush, 100 Doors, etc) from my old tablet to the N9. Since my N9 is not rooted, this is proving to be quite difficult. So far, I've tried:
My Backup Pro: Looked promising until I read that I needed root on BOTH devices to migrate app data files
DataSync: Again, requires root access to move app data files
Helium: For some reason, the app won't open on my old Nook Tablet so I haven't been able to try this.
Any suggestions? For Candy Crush, I really don't want to use the Facebook sync....I'm not a big fan of Facebook anyway.
Appreciate any help you guys could send my way....

You could try and adb backup that did the trick for me as helium wasnt working either https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&r...LJZXQPUSb3JGiWcCg&sig2=061CYy0v2fGzBTUADHBUrg
I finally got Helium to work on my old Nook tablet and made some app data backups but I was unable to restore the files on my new Nexus. Contacted the Helium Dev team and they said that they are working to resolve compatibility issues with Lollipop and they are "working on full support of it as we speak".
Hopefully this will be resolved soon.
Hello guys! As first i wanna say thanks a lot for everything you guys do *(This is meant for Developers, Helpers, Admins....,and everybody else that contributes!)* XDA is the best website of its kind - THANKS TO YOU!
Okay so, recently i decided to treat myself with a Phone watch - Samsung Galaxy Gear S from T-MOBILE. i always liked technology and new things that come out and they are one of a kind for a period of time. Phone i have the watch paired with is mine LG G3 from VERIZON, rooted running on Jasmine ROM V3.0 - 4.4.2.
To connect the phone to the watch (Gear Manager APP) i used the tutorial from this forum (Duhhhh.... Where else?! ) if anybody needs it click HERE
Now, when i connected my GEAR S to my G3, the watch did factory reset, which deleted all the apps that were on it which i installed using my old Samsung Galaxy S3 (I do not use it at all, its a ,,backup'' phone etc...)
The question is : Is there any way i could install some apps on the GEAR S without resetting it to factory defaults, and pairing with S3?
I read somewhere you can push em somehow, but first how do i get the apps itself? Im missing a lot of apps and if i wont be able to install anything i dont see a need to use the device till i get some apps on it like OPERA etc... Some useful stuff.
I hate the games that manafacturers play these days. All this stuff to make your life more difficult. Selling a watch which has its own sim card, own internet connection etc... I dont know why they just wont put an APP STORE on the watch.
Now if there is a way to install Samsung APP MARKET on my LG G3, and my phone will be able to push apps into GEAR S please post an tutorial or at least instruction, i will be more than happy to read it, test it and by the way i would make a nice long tutorial for the users of this great forum.
Ps. I tried installing the Samsung Market yesterday (i found an APK available for download) but the APK didnt install. It failed. What i did is edited my build.prop for the phone to identify as GT-i9500 and it bricked my phone 3 - it would boot but my launchers wouldn't load and just kept saying that the application has crashed, over and over and over again. I had a backup which i replaced using TWRP file manager, and fixed my phone..
Well, i hope somebody will be able to help!
Ps2. Just a little offtopic - Do you guys think that Samsung Gear S would of been better with Android as OS? I belive so!
Thank you very much for your time!:good:
Im post instructions HOW to install samsung apps market in THIS thread... read all thread and pages from my post to the end of thread...
