Hi lads, I would be most grateful if someone could post a nandroid image for your i717. I know its device dependent but it would help me out grately in troubleshooting some problems i am having. thanks so much in advance!
What kind of troubles are you having? Most people have nandroids with all of their personal information already in them so you'll need to find a clean one.

I've definately been wondering where I could find a stockish (I'm newish) nandroid image.
I've managed to jack up my internet somehow and though I thought I had a backup, I did not (blessing I suppose because now I actually do have a backup, even if its a crappy one).

I agree but it does get a tad irritating. I have been on the boards so long I have begun to ignore it. That link looks correct though.
Do I flash both of these files from hoot? Thanks for the help man some people take this stuff too seriously

Your right I sure did and only because they said I posted on the wrong thread. What are you the xda police?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
Yes, put on root of sd card and flash through hboot.
I lost root. Can I get it back without having to do the terminal adb thing?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
The first one you put on here I flashed but my software still said 1.12.605.9
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
The baseband version is the radio, not the software number.
How did you lose root?
Hey man seriously there need to be more ppl on here like you. Huge help. I fn flashed a stock radio apparently that caused me to lose root. I got confused about your post I knew what the first one was but didn't understand why the link to the thread was there. I had been there so many times. I'm getting the numbers confused I think . Do I have to root all over again? Can I flash a new radio from hoot? Thanks again

So the software version .... What software version did I have when I got the phone ?

I am thinking about rooting my phone only so I can get my backup pro and other backup apps to back up the whole phone but on the atrix I heard if you root you will loose a few things what will I be missing? Will hotspot still work?
It seems to me to have missed anything.
Oh, maybe just the warranty.
Why is this this here!?

posting a question which belongs respectively in Q&A, here in development? I wonder what thought process, if any, brought you here.
Rooting does not do anything in terms of feature loss.

There's been a lot of 'wrong forum' threads lately in development...
Can anyone move this?

Titanium backup should be on every Android Phone IMO, so that alone is the biggest reason to root...

I have read all the posts in its thread but still not sure about it.
Pros and Cons please.

Why don't u just install it like everyone else.

You won't lose anything for testing it, unless you don't have your apps and contacts backed up through the cloud or titanium
Do a nandriod back up in cwm. If you don't like it restore and you haven't lost anything but time.

Hi community was wondering of anyone knows where I can find an app I can use the back up my EFS folder.
I'm on stock Rom with root and Busy box installed.
Thanks

I don't think anyone has found a way yet. Alot of people have lost it while flashing.

Doesn't exist yet, but many smart developers are looking into it. You can search and find a number of threads open on the subject.
Actually I lied: the efs folder you can backup, but it doesn't appear to contain the imei, assuming that's what you are actually asking for.

Just backup all the folders

Thanks guys. For now I've been flashing kernels do you think this is risky to do when it comes to losing IMEI?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium

Hey guys I've been trying to figure out why my rezound ( after root and s-off) has some crappy signal I have 1 bar and low data service almost everywhere but when I'm outside sometimes even then. From what I can collect its because I never installed a new radio or kernal. I'm not exactly sure what they are though or where to download them. ( sorry it may sound stupid but I'm lost at this point and have given up hope) I also saw something that said a radio is in a kernal. I have cyanogen mod 9 right now with the ics update and was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction of a kernal/radio good for my phone. I'm computer savy installing it won't be an issue but I'm just lost as to where to get it. I appreciate the help on this.

This might sound stupid, but after taking the battery cover off to do the S-Off trick, did you make sure it was back on all the way? the antenna for the rezound is on the battery cover.
Check your antenna tabs and make sure there are none broken off or damaged.

This here would mean I could just flash the files over right? I believe my phone came with ics. It is s off and all I did was install cyanogen 9 with CWM. Did those flash new firmware? It may sound dumb but I just wanna make sure.

No. You can only flash firmware with a PH98IMG.zip or an RUU.

Cool thanks I'm gonna try this out because my antenna looks fine there's no visible damage and I hate this no to low signal crap.
