Z ultra loud vibrate - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Hi Guys,
I noticed today that my Z ultra vibrate is loud. I actually hear something inside the phone like a fly or piece of paper or small object was stucked.
It's very annoying and sounds like the vibratory is broken or something so I temporary disable any hectic feedback and notifications (vibrate)
Is anybody who experience this issue and was able to fix?
Thanks

I don't know if you're actually hearing what you think you are - or you just aren't used to the vibration on the Z Ultra.
The Ultra's vibrator is the loudest I've ever heard on a phone.

The noise of the vibrate is louder than it vibrates the phone. I am not sure if the vibrates get worst as I disable the vibrate when I got the phone. Now I want to use it and hearing the weird noise inside the phone when it vibrates.
Wondering if this is defective or its normal.. Noise is like something is loose inside the phone.

Not normal, well at least mine is not noisy at all

Granted, the Ultra's vibrator is really loud, but I can't say that I've heard any rattling noises inside it. It's really really hard to help you when all we get is a forum post without some audio You should upload a YouTube video.

Thanks, LordManhattan, blueether, and hassanmahmood.
I record the vibrate noise on the same phone as I do not have any digital camera or phone that I can use to record the noise at the moment.
Note that the actual sound is a bit lesser than you can hear on the recording. But it sound like it.
first 10 Secs = vibrate with sound when I press and hold the icon for a sec.
18 secs = is the vibrate with sound on Diagnostic section (Settings > About Phone > Diagnostic > Test Device > Vibration) - This sounds like electric shaver.
Here's the like where you can download the recording.

I hope the sound file helps
Thanks.

I had the same problem, and it turned out I had the back glass up by half a millimeter. It caused the vibration to make more noise than normal.
Give this a try: hold tight the lower left side of your Ultra and redo the test.
Does it sound better? Like, muffled? If it does, it definitely is the back cover lifting, another case of bad gluing.
If it doesn't, I don't know how to help you...

Hi, when I hold the lower left of the phone it gets a little better but the noise still there. I called Sony and they said the shaver noise like is normal to Z ultra.

No it's not I don't have that noise.

Oh well, I really love the phone and it does all I want on a phone plus more. However this issue really annoyed me.
Is there somebody who solves the issue? I know I should have Sony service center check the phone but I want to knowing somebody bring their unit to Sony center and able to fix it and what might have cause the issue and what parts has been replaced? I want to know first so I don't waste my time going there leave my phone and they won't be able to fix
Thanks guys again for Sharing your thoughts

If it gets better, you may have a slightly misplaced vibration motor.
If you look close enough, do you see the back glass up even by a thin hair?
I sent mine back to repair, it had the back lifted a little bit (which caused the vibrating excessive noise), but I also hard bricked, and they gave me a new one due to "lack of experience on the device, Sony gave us the direct order of replacing the units, we're not able to repair them yet".
But it was like a month after the release the may repair yours... just be sure to go for an official Sony repair center, if you don't wanna end up with a badly glued panel, leading to a dead phone after exposing it to water.

Hi closely look at the back glass for about 2 to 3 minutes and I don't see any glass misalignment.
I might bring the unit to official Sony service center, problem is I do not have any spare phone to use haha.

Just got my One, have two concerns

I just got my HTC One and have two issues I'm hoping you guys can help me out with:
1- Whenever you play sound, it seems the next 2 seconds following there is a popping noise that comes from the speakers as if the speaker is turning off. In a quiet environment, and with the phone relatively close to your face (how I use it when in bed), after you play sound on your phone, do you hear a popping noise from the speaker about 2 seconds after? It's EXTREMELY annoying since the speakers face you.
2- Open up your settings app (with the white background) - do you notice any faint horizontal lines faded in the background? They look almost grey, and very faint. Let me know if your phone has these on white background or if my screen is defected.
The phone seems great, but these two things are kind of bugging me, especially the popping sound. Please let me know if you're experiencing these.
Thanks.

Doesn't happen on mine. What a bummer. Take a trip to an AT&T store and get them to replace it.

Probably not normal, you should try to exchange it.
I may have noticed some kind of movement when waking up the phone on white backgrounds. But I'm not sure, my vision sucks and the "movement" goes away.

1- I heard it, very very faint, but it's definitely there. It's only going to be a real problem if the black OneĀ® comes out in less than 30 days
2- Nope didn't see that.
yes, i also hear a popping sound
I think I read something about this on the international boards. I remember reading it was a software issue and will be fixed

Great! After reading this, now I cant unhear it. It is very faint, but there.
The same thing happened on my Motorola Bionic when it upgraded from GB to ICS. I can hear "shut off" sound with my headphones. The Bionic upgraded to JB recently and the sound is gone. So, the fix for the One is a software update. Not a deal breaker for me.

Vibration causes some plastic-ish sound?

I just received my HTC one and found out that when it vibrates (opening the app drawer, typing messages...), it kinda gives a plastic-ish sound. Not a very solid vibration. Unlike my EVO 4G LTE, which has a pretty solid vibration. I was wondering if it's just me or it's my phone that doesn't act normal? Thanks
Same here. At first I thought it was because it was laying on my desk but it does it when I hold it as well. Not a big deal but slightly annoying.
I have the same issue. Its not the hugest deal. Its probably due to the type of vibration motor they use in the device. Coming from an iPhone its definitely noticeable because they use such a quiet motor. But overall its not a dealbreaker. Im still loving this phone

Are you talking about the touch sound you can toggle in the "sounds" settings?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
It's the vibration motor rattling the main camera autofocus mechanism. Tap the back of the phone near the camera and you'll hear the same sort of rattle. The camera is meant to take the abuse, so it's annoying at best.
This thread should be kept alive...lol I just noticed the vibration noise discussed here...I'm a bit worried... Or should I not be long term?? Coming from a Samsung S2 SR
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
I have noticed this and to put my mind at ease I turned off all the vibration stuff accept when turning on. I flashed Fauxs kernel and turned the vibration to 100% and the sound is greatly reduced. I think it is due to the speed of the vibration motor. At any rate the combination helped greatly. On the down side kinda makes me feel like my phone is cheap

[Q] In-call screen blackout issue. Help please!

I'm hoping someone has a solution to this very annoying issue I'm having with my Note 2.
It's Verizon - stock - 4.1.2
When I dial a phone number and put the phone to my ear the screen goes black - as it should. But when I move the phone away from my ear the screen doesn't come back on. It stays blacked out and I can't get it to come back on with the home or even the power button.
This means I can't hang up, I can't put the phone on speakerphone mode, I can't use the touchtone pad to navigate through menus. It's made my phone a real pain in the arse.
Anyone have any thoughts on what to do or what's going wrong?:fingers-crossed:
A couple things I'm thinking... Try pulling out your spen when it happens.. Do a battery pull if nothing else.. It might be the proximity censor... Do you have a screen protector on it?

I'll try the s-pen, maybe that will work.
I've got a screen protector, but it's the same one I've had on since I first bought the phone months ago. I've pulled the battery several time, it's the only way to hang up!
I too think it's the proximity censor, which sucks because I don't want to trade in my phone for some refurb that's gone through God knows what.
Good luck...those were the only things I could think of. ..

Check your case and your screen protector. and clean the proximity sensor. Know it sounds weird, but have problems before with screen protectors getting oil on them when placed to the ear and the sensor thinking you are still close. Also lighting from cases makes the sensor go fruity. Not a science but worth a check.

Is there a lame Water drop noise for touch UI

Hi was thinking of purchasing this Verizon device switching carriers . does this tw running device have water drop noise for touch sounds.
Reason i ask is I strongly dislike that noise.
Of course I can change this after rooting but
I wanted to keep it stock for while so I would enjoy the custom roms I flashed and or make.
Just curious if I can handle stock for even a day...
Thanks

Yep. The touch sound is a water drop. There is another variation for the screen lock sound. I had to think about it for a minute since I don't use them. You could just uncheck those options under the system sound settings. I normally have my system sounds turned off.

Vibration sounds like a car horn - is it normal?

I just got a brand new S2 GT-I9100, but when I set the vibration to high levels it sounds like a car horn or something like that. Also, it's a bit ''metallic'' - there's a tiny split second of ''echo'' when the vibration ends.
Is this normal for S2, after all it is a very thin device so vibration resonance should be very noticeable anyway? Does yours sound similar? When I shake the device nothing rattles inside, so I presume everything sits tight in place.

So, your phone sounds like mine... Do you think it's just our phones, or it's like that on all GT-I9100 devices? Also, was your device sounding like that from the moment you bought it (while it was brand-new)?

It's the same - it only goes away if I lower the vibration intensity to 50% or place the phone upside down and press it against the carpet. A local repair guy told me it's normal for S2, and that his one sounded the same and that there's no point for sending it for repairs. He couldn't show me, he sold it a year ago. Only one guy told me it's not normal, others either can't remember or say it's normal.
