Hi everyone... may be i am asking a silly question but plz help me.... As we all know when we install whatsapp it creates a folder in sdcard0 i.e. internal storage and that folder contains all the media shared, backups of chats etc.Now i want that whatsapp should create this folder in extSdCard i.e. external sdcard.... i am asking all this bcz i use too much of whatsapp and share a lot of media so my memory gets full realy fast... but i have a external storage of 16GB so i want to shift this folder to my ext. storage....
Use foldermount. It links extsd and intsd such that it remains in extsd but shows up in intsd
Click thnx if this helped u

I made a 1GB partition on my 8GB micro SD using cmw. I move the apps to the SD but not all the data is moved. For example, I have an app that's about 10MB, I move it to SD and there's still about 5MB left on the internal memory. Doesn't happen with all apps but that little extra memory adds up.
Is there a way to fully move the app and everything to do with it to the SD card? Most of my apps are installed on the SD but there's still a lot of internal memory being used up. I also read about a way to force the apps to SD. After I tried searching for it, I couldn't find it. Can someone help me on both questions please?
Summary; what I'm asking is, What is wrong with how the apps are being installed on the SD? How can I force non-moveable apps to the SD? Is there a way to move all the app data to the SD?
The app I'm using is apps2sd free. https://market.android.com/details?...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5hMHNvZnQuZ3Bob25lLmFwcDJzZCJd Or is there any other app you guys recommend?
EDIT: I just installed Link2SD and it just said that only 16MB are being used on my 2nd patition. What is going on? I thought all my apps were installed externally? I'm so confused :/
Even i have same problem

If you want the entire app to be housed within the sd card then you should be using a2sd by Darktremor.
see if u r using link2sd , it links .apk , dex and lib files.....
and also install all apps on INTERNAL MEMORY then link them.... that way they will use your ext partition...... and check link automatically in link2sd....... apps will continue to use some internal memory but that was minimal when i used it.........
So if I link them, they get stored in the internal memory right? Then what's the point of linking them? And when they're moved to the sd card, why don't they get moved to the 2nd partition? Which one saves more space, linking them or moving them to the sd?

See now u hav 3 storages : Internal , EXt, and ur remaining SD card memory... since u already alotted 1 gb for apps .... thn why to move your apps to sd ?? just link them with the help of link2sd.....they will then occupy ur ext partition.... ( though apps data will be still on internal) ....
and also like you link few apps and expect to see a rise in internal memory.... you wont see rise until you reboot... wither quick reboot from link2sd or full reboot....
My tablet has a devided into two pices internal memory. 500mb for apps and 3,5 gb for internal storage and it recognize it as sdcard. I put my 16gb sdcard and is found like extsd. My question is how can I move programs from sdcard to extsd, is there a program like app2sd or to combine the memory and to became one. Because if I put 3 game like asphalt 6 and it will finish the memory. Thank you.

try link2sd,
i dont know only one thing: where this program move files (apk+cache) cause i dont see them in /sd-ext and app2sd app (i forget about uninstalling it) is showing that app is in internal storage but internal storage free memoory is like it was before moving.
EDIT: after reboot it is in data/sdext2 folder (before in /data folder).
You can try this instructions from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1642006
Hi all,
As there is specific thread for our Xperia Sola, I created my topic here. Sorry if I was wrong :/
I have a question about the management of the internal storage and the sd-card storage. Because it seems that my phone is considering my "sd card" as the internal storage.
When I connect my phone to my PC, I can see the internal storage and my sdcard content (as I choose MSC as connection type). But I can't see the content of my SD card directly from my phone. I tested with EStrong file explorer and the folder "/sdcard/" point to the internal storage. Same thing with Solid Explorer...
So I took Root explorer to sse behind the scene and I understand that my sdcard is mount in "/ext_card"..
So, this behaviour is really annoying: what's the meaning to have a sdcard input if I can only use the internal storage ? As I have a external storage, I would like to not use the internal storage. How can I do this ?
Thanks for your answer
I Also Have The Phone And the System Is Same For Me Better Get Use To It
Your external SDcard (/ext_card) is only for photos, music and videos.... No for aplication data. Yea that's really annoying. But i have read somewhere that you can (after root) edit the mounting points and mount your SDcard to sdcard. But there is no one who tried that.
YES ! I tried that ! You need root your phone and then do this . Don't forget to move apps from "sdcard" to phone ! Now i have 8 GB Internal storage and 4 GB external storage I love SOLA !
is this realy work on sola? im going to try this one later xD

Ok, so I searched the forum a bit&found some interesting related posts, such as the below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1670626
U will see that it mentions an app called data binding, which can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1410262
I'm abt to try it out on my Sola 2c if it saves the day, as I don't think we have a proper alternative..
u know, even if it is possible, if u run a Game located in a External SDcard, It would be laggy like hell, especially HD games. Because reading files from the external card is much SLOWER than the internal one. So...
Yep, but if it comes to that&u REALLY need extra storage, u must have an alternative. And it can't be that bad running apps from SD - i did it with my old ZTE out of pure necessity, as it has like zero internal storage available&it wasn't all that bad..
Plus, if u have the option, u can always leave the HD game for example on internal phone storage&move to the external SD other, not so "heavy duty" apps.
What I did was use Link2SD, as it looked more promising than the above.
I can't post the outside link as I'm a newbie just google Link2SD if interested, there is a very good guide of it at xperiablog.net, u can search it there too.
Let's see..
Testing Directory Bind ! It worked
Work on my SOLA using Directory Bind app ! :good:
Link2sd is also a good app - same philosophy (data binding is the concept behind both).

hey
first of al u mean that the "/ext_card" is the real SD card storage and not the "/sdcard"
and we are actually not allowed to put anything in it !!!
so what android use the SD card actually ?!!!
if its as Kevlud said so when i am sending an music or video file it will actually stored in the SD card and it will not get space in the internal storage ???
thanks 4ur replays u both
so can it be viewed by file managers in the phone?
so by doing this, file managers in sola can view external sd cards? and also when we connect the phone to computer, the computer can also view the external sd card? tq please reply asap..
Hi all
Do not bother
I have a Sony Sola., When the data on the memory card can not run the pump slipped. Should be on the internal memory. Whether a program that will fix the problem.
( Excuse my language is not good)
hey guys , i have a problem here
about my internal SD card
can you tell me how to clean my internal SD card without delete any system which is running
i already put my titanium backup folder , video , music , and SMS on my PC
and maybe this is dumb question , but please tell me the answer
"CAN I DELETE all FOLDER in my internal SD CARD ? "
if no , which folder must i keep ?
Yes you can.. All the folders required by the system will be automatically generated.. Connects your phone pc and format the internal sdcard..

You can do nothing. Important stuff are on SD card.

There are numerous ways thru which u can put additional data or data in ext sd.
Foldermount(quick linking of folders but if u hv a lot of things to link then this is lengthy)
Gltosd(kind of like foldermount but u hv to put data in internal sd so foldermount wud be better but this is simpler to use)
Star memory Faker (replace ext and int sd card as detected by phone by pressing a button and after that u can just relax)
obbtosd xposed module (places all obb in ext sd card simple as that)

Make the obb folder in int sd leave it blank
Make a new folder in ext sd put all ur game data (obbs) here
Go to foldermount and navigate to obb in ur intsd and the folder u created in ext sd and select those locations
Then press ok
Then click the pin.
