Well guys i totally a newbie to this andrion phones. I have taken one HTC Hero locked to orange network. I manage to unloke my phone with Unlock code purchased online. Now the problem is that whenever i start my phone it asked for the unlock code after entring the unlock code it says network unlock sucessful. But it shows a big red X & saying no service! I tried different sims but the no sucess.
I read different user that claims if u root ur phone and install some other Rom phone start working. Their r different ways of root,i.e Gold pass, cid unlock etc.
My question is that which process to follow & which Rom to install? Should i install the offical Rom

it means your unlock was unsuccessful (heres the proof, type 12345678 as the unlock code and see what it tells you )
down to the solution:
its not working because your hero is network branded with their own unlock algorithm. downgrade to a generic Hero ROM using a goldcard (here are the instructions, very straightforward: http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/18/how-to-downgrade-your-htc-hero-so-it-can-be-rooted/). Once on a generic rom, the codes will definitely work. Also you might as well root your phone with MoDaCo's new 2.9 custom rom now that you're 80% of the way to doing it

Hi i was wondering if someone could help me out with unlocking my bootloader and rooting my Motorola Atrix T-Mobile UK (unlocked) 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
I have just bought this phone of my friend for £50.00 and would like to root it to install some cool looking roms on this site but the problem is i dont know where to start
I have tried unlocking the bootloader with the unlock_v4.2 zip but all i get is an error saying sec_exception: febe, 35, 35 ( is this happening because i need to root my phone first?)
Any help would be gratefully appreciated
You should check out this thread it has everything to get you started and running a custom rom. I would root, unlock bootloader, install recovery and install a custom rom.

Hi every one, my brother has an Xperia NEO MT15i, android version is 2.3.4, and the build number is 4.0.2.A.0.62
Anyway, he wants to root it and unlock the boot loader and he also wants to overclock (which will need a custom kernel)
My brother is a noob in android so he seeked for my help because I've rooted and S-off my HTC wildfire. But of course, HTC devices are different from Sony devices so actually I got lost while browsing the Neo forum.
I've found a way to root but its for build number 4.0.2.A.0.42
So if 62 is unrootable I'll need to downgrade to 42 first which also I don't know how to do it.
So I need a way to successfully root build 62 or downgrade to 42
Thanks in advance.

well my friend if you want to start testing custom rom's and making OC with your phone here is the official tool from sony to unlock your bootloader http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
then with the BL unlocked you can easily downgrade but for downgrade I recommend that you use this program "Flashtool" you can get it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351317
this program is very user friendly just hit the lightning and there are all the options but you have to know some hardware combinations like if you want to change the build you have to turn off the phone keep press back button and plug your phone to the pc with this you can put your phone en flashmode and for changing kernel's again phone off you press menu button and plug your phone your notification led should be blue and this is the fastboot mode, for the recovery mode when you flash an OC kernel with recovery just turn on your phone keep your eyes on the notification LED and when you see that turns on hit volume (-) in there you can install all custom rom's and stock rom's
i warn you that when you unlock your BL you can't upgrade your phone via OTA (over the air) because it will brick your phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316394
here you can find all the kernels, Roms and the firmwares
enjoy flashing
Read sticky threads in neo and neo v section, that way you will get fast inside view into Xperia Neo(V), ways of unlocking Xperia bootloader and flashing custom kernels. Also you can read sticky threads in Xperia Arc.
unlock boot loader, flash a custom kernel(recommend nightelf's latest for gingerbread) and install rootxperia zip via cwm recovery.google for root xperia zip.
Nightelf's kernel comes with cwm pre-installed

Hello XDA
I'm in the same situation than the user, but with one difference, under the service menu, my phone says "bootloader unlocking status: No"
Does that mean that I can't unlock it without paying or I still can do it for free under S1Tool?
My phone was bought simlocked to the Vodafone Spanish carrier.

Pay method only.
New to this forum and rooting but I've owned an Atrix for a long time now. Mine has 2.3.6 loaded and nd I don't need help with rooting; I got that far and verified with an app that I indeed have root access.
My intent is to get the phone unlocked. What i found here nd other forums is the procedure for unlocking the 2.3.4 version and they say the process for 2.3.6 is different. I am very afraid of bricking my device so need help in this from anyone who has unlocked after upgrading to 2.3.6 and tried out custom roms. Some relevant Useful links also welcomed.
I am using an At&T version of Atrix bought in the US, but using in India as it is carrier unlocked to be used with any sim.
Thnx in advance
Please if anyone could help me on this. I cant find any strong information about this.
Hello mates,
I have an X10a, SIM unlocked (by unlock code)
running 2.1 STOCK
Rooted: YES. Superuser Active
Now I wanted to load custom roms etc, but I need the bootloader unlocked to be able to flash custom roms.
I ve searched and looked around, so out of all the methods available, I found the easiest is running qsd8250 bat,
but when I do I get this problem: (see attached picture)
let me know what I might be doing wrong.
THANK YOU
