[Q] galaxy s2 corrupt file. court case - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi,
hope someone can help, i have got as far as understanding the problem that it has led me here
basically this is my problem
Hope this is the right section...
I use the Samsung preinstalled audio recorder on my SGS2. It's a nice app, but when it crash, or when i put in pause a recording, instead of stopping it, and for any reason i connect the galaxy to the pc as mass storage memory, the unfinished recording file result in a corrupted .3ga file (to be exact, the file remain in the root of the memory with the following name: ".voice").
i have save both the corrupt file and other working f from my phone to my pc
i can play the working files in VLC but not in adobe auditions
i can extract the files to adobe audition including the corrupt one, in the hope that i can fix the corrupt file to something that is audible.but even the working .3ga files wont play in audition.
my question is his, how can i recover the corrupt .voice file which i believe is a .3ga extension
i need to recover the file because it contins a discret recording of the police beingcorrupt, it was sent to 2 forensic departments and both claimned their was no sin of a recording, but i have maaged to find it with the correct date and time and size filee.
i can forward the file if someone can help

transfering audio files

I've a note with a audio file on it and I now want to play and save that file on my PC.
All the media players I have don't suppport whatever the format is. It says it's a "PWI" file, is that right??
Do I somehow extract the audio file out of the note????
Any help would be great.

[Q] Not just files disappeared but also folders

I received my new gTablet Tuesday and had lots of fun with it for a few days, adding apps, getting frustrated because some places sent them to my phone and not letting me download to the gTab, loading media files, etc. Life was good. Then I added an external 32GB mSD and, just as many other people found out, files started disappearing. For me, though, they didn't just disappear from the media players but from the file system. Not only that but the folders began to disappear, too, and now I'm missing several folders from my file system: Video, Pictures, Music, Downloads, and many more that don't come to mind, plus all of their contents.
I was hoping that a reflash (using Roebeet's excellent sticky thread) would help but everything is still missing. Is there a way to recover or reflash the contents of the /sdcard? Even reloading the stock image would be acceptable as I would at least have a base to work from.
And, since my readings hint that this is all a result of the .nomedia issue, just where should that particular file be stored so that the media scanner doesn't delete thing or is my problem greater than that? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I am not sure, but I wonder if anundelete utility on your pc might recover files on the sd card?
As for the no media file, I have mine on the root directory as well as the media directories. This is bad though, because Very few programs will find files on the sd card. You have to use a file manager program.

[Q] Restore Zero Byte File?

Hey Guys,
I recently recorded a video about 4GB with my Galaxy S 2 (mp4 file format with h.264 codec)(stored on the device aka internal sd). I'm pretty sure the video worked fine until I copied it onto my netbook which ran out of battery at 95% of the copy progress...
Since then, the video is listet at zero Bytes on the device.
The not fully copied file on the netbook is filled with Hex 0's at the end (where some important data is stored in mp4 files) and I'm not able to watch a single frame of this video (tried with VLC, Virtual Dub, some "fixing tools") (but the file is still in it's original file size)
Does anyone know a way to restore a zero byte file on android 2.3.4(/w su)?
I've got ~95% of the old file to look for and the exact original file size, but I don't know how to read raw data from the hdd.
I think the file system should be ext3 so as far as I know I should look for the lost inodes to restore the file.
Can anyone help me out or is there a tool out there for problems like this?
Thanks

[Q] A little help with rar files

Hi,
I'm relatively new to Android and I'd like your feedback on a problem I'm facing using unrar programs on my Note II.
I tried to unrar some files I threw from my pc experimenting with 3-4 programs available at Google Play to see if it can be done correctly. While everything seems to work ok, the filesize of the end file is exactly the same as if I was doing the job at my pc, and the name and file extension (Matroska file in my example) is written correctly in the created file under properties, when I try to play it it doesn't work for some reason.
Of course if I unrar the same files at my pc and throw the end file inside the pc, then everything is ok. For some weird reason, while the unrar process seems to be done correctly in my phone, the end file cannot be played.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance

I use this ,not a single problem so far,it can support multiple files as well.
I have installed exactly the same program atm in my Note II!
I don't know if the problem is with the program though. I'm trying to unrar multiple rar files to create the mkv video. The operation is done correctly as I said (or at least it seems so) but the mkv file cannot be played. The filesize and the name of the endf ile is exactly the same as if I was doing the operation in my pc, but for some reason the file cannot be played.. :/
Also I noticed that if I try to copy this file in my pc, or move/copy it somewhere else inside the phone I can't!
I can only delete it..
It could be that just one file is missing the.rar extension in that case you have to rename it into.rar.
And it's better to put all of the multiple files in one folder.
Thanks for your feedback guys I found what was the issue. I need to make one clarification though so if you can help, you'd help me understand why this happens.
I've done the internal/external swap memory flashmod on my Note II, and I was trying to unrar/write initially on the now external card(but in reality it's the internal memory without the mod). So when I perform the operation in the "external" card the created file cannot play.
When I try to do it in the now internal(but in reality sd card/external memory) everything works just fine.
Is there any limitation to begin with with using unrar programs in the external memory? Or it might be an issue/bug with the mod quite possibly?
Thanks in advance

How to restore corrupt MP4 file

I've got a S6 Edge, for some reason, after trying to send 2 videos taken by the phone's camera through WhatsApp, the sending failed & the files disappeared from the Studio. After searching with a file manager & PC, I found them but they are no more MP4 files. They have same name with "repairedä®p4" at the end. File size shows they are the 2 videos, but cannot copy them anywhere. Any help how I can restore them? if possible. I tried renaming them, but no use. Cannot be copied inside the phone to another location nor to the PC using a cable (both MTP & PTP connection).
