I hate to ask, but I'm totally lost now. I've been trying to unlock this bootloader for 4 days, I've tried every method on the forums, Googled my ass off, And i still can't get this thing unlocked.
I've run moonshine, facepalm, rumrunner, all to no avail. tried jcases method and at least got the cid to change to 11111111

I would RUU back to a clean, stock 1.15, take all the updates to 4.2.2/Sense 5, then do rumrunner.

I managed to RUU back to 1.15. Gonna try to update it to 4.2.2 and rumrunner it again.

I used rumrunner without a problem. Uninstall all files and re download and try again. Something is corrupt in your files.

I did that exact process on Win7 x64 with success. Biggest hassle was installing the drivers and getting adb to work. I didn't want to install the full HTC Sync Manager (the only download offered by HTC which comes bundled with the drivers) so I found them here on XDA. I think I used the latest one from this thread (HTCDriver_4.2.0.001.exe, don't worry about the BMP files mentioned in the instructions)

You can always install HTC sync manager then uninstall it right after and it will leave the drivers installed. Definetly get updated to 4.2.2 and use rumrunner it works great and it will not format your phone to unlock it.
So I figured it out. The main issue was I could not get the SuperCID to take. The apk just would not work I got it to change to 11111111 using jcase's method, and then I used WinDroid Toolkit to change it to 22222222. Then I ran moonshine on it again and BAM! moonshine S-OFF again! Thanks for you guy's suggestions and time.

I had my HTC amaze unlocked with s-off and a modded hboot I then updated to a new ICS firmware to run ICS however when the firmware flashed to my phone it locked my phone and reset my hboot but still kept s-off. Is there anyway to unlock my phone again? If anyone has any help please let me know I already tried to unlock it through HTdev website and it did not work!!!
If you are s=off, then you don't need to unlock your bootloader. I'm assuming you have eng bootloader, and with that, you don't need to unlock anything.

If any of you read correctly, he said he unlocked it before, therefore, all he has to do is place the unlock_code file in hasoon's tool's data folder and run the unlock bootloader option, voila he's back to being unlocked, though the relocking sounds kind of odd, but it could probably be due to the hboot he was using, I'm guessing was Juopunutbear's or something.

Well my old unlock bin worked fine for me re-unlocking on ICS, guess I was lucky, okay cool, my bad.
Yes I had hboot from Juopunutbear when I did the s-off it asked to install his hboot but after I upgraded it changed my hboot back to 1.93.0002 and it is SHIP s-off not eng which I am not totally sure what the difference is but is there a way to change SHIP back to ENG????? I am going to give HTCdev another chance and see what happens... thanks for the input and help
ok so I just tried HTCdev again and it unlocked my phone however it did a hard reset the only thing I have to do now is to have eng s-off instead of ship s-off.

Just flash the eng hboot via bootloader, though you don't need to, unless you plan to do fastboot commands, which the average user doesn't have much need for, hasoon's tool does everything you need, recovery, root, etc, though I do recommend 4EXT recovery, which you can easily install after obtaining root.
So I just spent a long time trying to get s-off on my evo lte. Well after a few hours and linux running on my windows pc I got lazy panda to give me s-off. Well I then decided to go ahead and install a firmware update with the new 1.19 hboot(I obviously wasn't thinking). My phone still has s-off but now has a locked boot loader. I'm pretty pissed and I don't think theres much I can do at this point, am I correct?

I've been s-off (1.12) since the exploit was found. Always thought you'd lose s-off or root if I updated the bootloader but after reading this thread, it sounds like I can update to 1.19 and just reinstall twrp?
Currently running Mean 3.6 with just the radio updates. Phone is running fine, any reason to update the bootloader?

Never a problem with asking questions. The user was S-OFF, so it doesnt matter that his H-boot said locked. He can do whatever he pleases.
The poster was suggesting he use an overly complicated method (HTC dev to unlock the bootloader and either fastboot flashing the recovery or using an app to do it) when all he had to do was install the recovery via the bootloader
He probably could just have easily installed the old 1.12 bootloader.
stuck @ boot
Reflash boot image through recovery you have to mount USB to get the file on your sf card then reboot system then go back to fastboot and accept the update

The RUU to use depends on your hboot, for example, if youre on hboot 1.15 use RUU 1.22.651.3 - HBOOT 1.15
for hboot 1.19 use RUU 2.13.651.1 - HBOOT 1.19
The best guide to follow is the unlimited guide from their site, they will acutally support your efforts live! I used this method and I was able to gain s-off, unlock my bootloader and root; here's the link (it contains eveything you need including the RUU):

Rumrunner should work.
Being s-on sucks, but you can still run custom ROMs. You just need to download the ROM's zip file to your pc, unzip it and fastboot flash the boot.img.
Someone might still have the necessary files for firewater s-off.
Rumrunner is the only method to S-off Hboot 2.10. You'll have to be S-off to downgrade via RUU to an older Android version. Might want to hit up the Rumrunner thread and make sure that you've got your computer set up properly to run it. Firewater has been discontinued and is no longer supported by its developers.

help?
Hi all,
I have installed a custom recovery on my ATT HTC One M8. It is rooted and I am trying to install an OTA update. I am fairly new to this and I need help. I can try provide any information necessary. I am currently on 4.28.502.1 and the OTA update is 4.28.502.2. I keep getting ERROR 155 and I don't know what I am doing wrong. Thank you
Not for the M8.....it might help.

I downloaded MyAndroidTools and actually shut down my HTC DM service. There are 2 of them. I went into HTCDM and unchecked DmService . I no longer see the update prompt.
I am waiting a few days to see how this pans out.... I really don't feel like unrooting and relocking.

I need to have S-OFF to relock my bootloader, but I can't find a program to help me achieve that. There was firewater and that has become discontinued. There is SunShine ( I think that is what its called ) which you have to pay $25 for. I don't know if it's worth it.
Error 155 is because of unlocked bootloader. Only way to have unlocked and run an ruu successful is with s-off. Just relock and ruu you can always unlock again via HTCdev. Type the command below to relock when s-on.
Fastboot oem lock
It will show relocked, so it won't help with warranty, but if you are planning to unlock again, it will work.

/system has to be unmodified. This means most things that require root to change (E.G. removing system apps, changing build.prop, xposed, etc) have to be reverted to stock for an ota to work. You do not need s-off to take an ota. Just uproot, put /system back to stock and flash the stock recovery.

You need s-off to make it say LOCKED. With s-on, you can only make it RELOCKED.
The only reason to make it LOCKED is for warranty purposes through HTC (AT&T warranty actually doesn't care of the phone is modded).
