[Q] Installed apps history? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi! we can clean some apps that we dont use going to playstore/myapss/all.
but if you try remove an app from the list (not the 1st app preferably), and install again that app you will notice the position on the list is the same. So its impossible delete apps history, google always remember what apps you have ever installed with your account?

That right. The installed / uninstalled apps are save in your gmail account.
I don't know about any way to delete it.

Deleted apps, now emails don't send

I was deleting bloatware from my phone using Titanium and now my emails don't send. They stay on "sending.." forever. What apps on the phone directly control the information being sent to Google? I think it has to be the "Talk" app but I'm not sure why that would control gmail. I also deleted "E-Mail" which is the standard email client that I never use.
Any ideas?

Go to applications, manage applications, Filter All
Go to Google Mail - clear data / clear cache
Go to Google Storage - clear data / clear cache
Should fix you up
There is no cache, why exactly would I just delete all of my data? I don't think this will fix my problem.

No, it does not delete your data. This is a very common problem when using most of these lag fixes. If there is a cache, clear it, otherwise just clear the data and it should start working. I had to do it every other day until I removed the last "stable" lag fix.
all gmail is kept on the google cloud not your local phone... clearing the settings/data will do just that and give you a clean slate to start with. Your data on the cloud will not be touched.

first make sure GmailProvider.apk is in your system/app folder. Then check to make sure you didn't remove these two .apk when you removed Talk. gtalkservice.apk and TalkProvider.apk.
I had a simular problem when i removed Talk app along with gtalkservice and TalkProvider which caused my phone to not login to any google app.

Those apps are still intact. I actually just did a nandroid restore to before I removed any apps. The emails still aren't sending, I'll delete my data and see if that fixes it.

Wow that actually fixed it, thanks a lot! I wonder what other apps are crippled on my phone due to those lagfixes.

Sorry for the extra post but is there a way to clear the entire cache on the phone? It seems the lagfixes crippled a lot of programs like gmail, market, and the web browser.

Think this has something to do with T-Mobiles data going out (possibly worldwide) last night? I also had an email not get sent this morning.
^ I am rooted and use one of the cache cleaning apps...
Can you recommend me one? Does it clear the cache of all programs?

I'm using CachMate.
I'm using CacheCleaner, seems to clear all cache very well.. and it is free of course.
Two days after installing the apk based lag fix I started having gmail and GPS issues. Most of the current lag fixes create a virtual ext3 partition which corrupts very easily causing these types of issues. I removed the lag fix and my system became more stable again. I am only speaking based on my own personal experience.

uninstall twitter

I don't use twitter. what's the easiest way to unintall twitter?
Go through Settings, Applications, find Twitter and then delete it.
there is no active icons that is lit up once i clicked on twitter. still showing taking up .94mb space. data however is 0 mb. does it mean i can't delete it?
If u are on stock rom you can't. You will have to root than using rooted uninstaller remove twitter.

If its a system app that came with your phone theres a chance you may not be able to remove it.
Get titanium backup and remove it with that.

this had to go to Q&A, but anyways, just install them on sim card and they will sync everytime you reflash the phone or do something else or use titanium backup or any other 3rd party application.
I have all my contacts stored in my gmailaccount and let it sync after I put a new ROM on my phone.
Before I went to the trouble of storing all my contacts in my gmailaccount, I used the backup to .vcf function in Go Contacts app.
+1
I do same as ldeleeuw, just synch it with your google account
Regards
Awesome guys.
How do I do that?!
And will my calendar be synced as well?

Yes it will!!
I will recommnend Google sync.. it also helped me many times when I am running out of battery.
Also editing is also powerful in Gmail acct.
Another tool I found was, fjsoft's mobile phone explorer. It will give you many options to customize backup. Google fjsoft and dload. "Mobile Phone Explorer" is free.

On my PC, I imported a vcf-file into my gmailaccount, which I created with GO Contacts. It's is a single vcf-file with mutiple contacts, so importing it is very easy.
To sync it with your phone, you'll need to setup syncronisation somewhere in settings
What about going into settings and pressing the sync button to sync with my gmail account ?

sounds like you are already synced, have to checked your contacts page in gmail on a pc?
also you can got Phone book - menu - more - Backup contacts - memory card
I would go for MyBackup as i dont sync often.

I'm using MyPhoneExplorer and I think it is the best back up way. You can sync, archive, export, import your contacts, messages and calendar.
It can save your contacts with pictures. See this page:

just use old backuprestore.apk.....it is working like charm...see my post..

Backup & Restore from v2.1 can be installed on v2.3.

Q. Can't sync my phone to my GMAIL account

I tried syncing my phone contacts with my gmail account but I get a 'sync is experiencing problems. It will be back shortly'.
Anybody know what the problem is. Calendar and Docs synced fine. It's just contacts it has problem with.
Can anybody help or have any advice?
I had that issue on my x10 and I did this to fix it,
Delete data in the gmail app and delete if you have it the data in gmail storage. You will find those under all apps in settings.
Then let the phone resync itself.

Okay so I went into settings -> applications -> manage applications. I scrolled through the list of applications on my device and GMAIL is not one of the apps listed.

calendar app

So I was an idiot and removed the HTC calendar app with titanium while setting up my new phone yesterday assuming that there was a stock google one in there somewhere. I have the google calendar widget active, but when I click on it, it does not open the app (obviously a there is nothing to open). I've found the google calendar apk but it force crashes on me.
I had backed up the original app before deleting, but when attempting to restore it just cycles a though it was restoring to no avail. Is there a kind soul out there who could upload the apk files for the HTC calendar and widget for me so I can fix my goof.
Flash. The stock ruu
