uninstall twitter - Optimus One, P500, V General

I don't use twitter. what's the easiest way to unintall twitter?

Go through Settings, Applications, find Twitter and then delete it.

there is no active icons that is lit up once i clicked on twitter. still showing taking up .94mb space. data however is 0 mb. does it mean i can't delete it?

If u are on stock rom you can't. You will have to root than using rooted uninstaller remove twitter.

If its a system app that came with your phone theres a chance you may not be able to remove it.
Get titanium backup and remove it with that.

Deleted apps, now emails don't send

I was deleting bloatware from my phone using Titanium and now my emails don't send. They stay on "sending.." forever. What apps on the phone directly control the information being sent to Google? I think it has to be the "Talk" app but I'm not sure why that would control gmail. I also deleted "E-Mail" which is the standard email client that I never use.
Any ideas?

Go to applications, manage applications, Filter All
Go to Google Mail - clear data / clear cache
Go to Google Storage - clear data / clear cache
Should fix you up
There is no cache, why exactly would I just delete all of my data? I don't think this will fix my problem.

No, it does not delete your data. This is a very common problem when using most of these lag fixes. If there is a cache, clear it, otherwise just clear the data and it should start working. I had to do it every other day until I removed the last "stable" lag fix.
all gmail is kept on the google cloud not your local phone... clearing the settings/data will do just that and give you a clean slate to start with. Your data on the cloud will not be touched.

first make sure GmailProvider.apk is in your system/app folder. Then check to make sure you didn't remove these two .apk when you removed Talk. gtalkservice.apk and TalkProvider.apk.
I had a simular problem when i removed Talk app along with gtalkservice and TalkProvider which caused my phone to not login to any google app.

Those apps are still intact. I actually just did a nandroid restore to before I removed any apps. The emails still aren't sending, I'll delete my data and see if that fixes it.

Wow that actually fixed it, thanks a lot! I wonder what other apps are crippled on my phone due to those lagfixes.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Sorry for the extra post but is there a way to clear the entire cache on the phone? It seems the lagfixes crippled a lot of programs like gmail, market, and the web browser.

Think this has something to do with T-Mobiles data going out (possibly worldwide) last night? I also had an email not get sent this morning.
^ I am rooted and use one of the cache cleaning apps...
Can you recommend me one? Does it clear the cache of all programs?

I'm using CachMate.
I'm using CacheCleaner, seems to clear all cache very well.. and it is free of course.
Two days after installing the apk based lag fix I started having gmail and GPS issues. Most of the current lag fixes create a virtual ext3 partition which corrupts very easily causing these types of issues. I removed the lag fix and my system became more stable again. I am only speaking based on my own personal experience.

You can use titanium backup to do both of those things. I'm not sure if incoming sms/mms still need stock or not, so make sure you back it up.
it is safe to remove mms.apk from system/ apps and messaging is safe to freeze in titanium
cool guys Thanx.
Would this be a possible solution to not using the stock messenger that is native to GB 2.3.3 as well, if you use a SMS/MMs app from the market ?

yes, i am using handcent after completely removing the stock app, sending and receiving and picture are fine
How do you fully remove the stock messaging app? I installed Handcent and I kept getting notifications from both stock and handcent even after I disabled them for the stock messaging app. There's noway to clear the defaults, if so please advise. Thanks.

Use tb. Open up the app grant it su permissions. Choose back and restore. Find the stock msg app then press on it and choose uninstall. Reboot. Or use root explore. Open the app go to system then choose apps. Mount as r/w "it will be in the top right hand corner" then find the stock msg app and long press on it and choose delete and reboot. Or rename the .apk to .bak so if you ever want it back just rename it back to .apk

Stock email app

So I am rooted and used tibu to freeze the stock email app but when I just tried to defrost and use it it doesn't show up in the app drawer, and when I try to run app from tibu it just force closes. How can I get this app running again?

Something must have went wrong with the defrosting process. The same thing happened to Christopher Reeves when they tried to defrost him.
Try clearing app data. If not, you can check in the Apps/Themes section, I think there's a stock apk thread from which you can push the original email.apk

Making an APK

I have been searching for way to make an apk file. I am currently using titanium back up to retrieve my apps. But I want the ability to send an actually apk to another individual. I tried changing the the extension through my file explorer but that didn't work. Any suggestions or answers? I hope this isn't a noob question. Thanks.

You can use https://market.android.com/details?...sMSwyLDEsImNvbS5idW1wdGVjaC5idW1wZ2EiXQ..bump
However, the recipient has to have bump installed too to receive apps.

Bump will just send the market link. I think what u want is to send paid apps to friends which I'm not sure is possible
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Well not necessarily paid apps. For example. My friend has the Motorola Droid razor (not rooted) but wishes he still had his car home app. I currently have this app installed (ICS by neobuddy) and I want to package the app into an apk so I can send it to him.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Just upload it to a Dropbox account and he can get on via his phone or PC and download it. Or pull a copy of your APK out of either /system/app or /data/app and put it on your SD card. Plug your card into his computer or phone and pull it off, install and Bam!! there it is.
I have tried sending APKs through gmail and it won't do it b/c gmail won't allow executables to be sent (whole virus protection thing and all-so i guess it is a good thing).
Worst case scenario, you upload it here, he logs on and pulls it off but beware of uploading paid apps as you will be banned. Your call.
I send apk files through gmail quite often. I use astro to make a backup, then send it through astro using the gmail app.
Thank you for the help. Really appreciate it.

[Q] Installed apps history?

hi! we can clean some apps that we dont use going to playstore/myapss/all.
but if you try remove an app from the list (not the 1st app preferably), and install again that app you will notice the position on the list is the same. So its impossible delete apps history, google always remember what apps you have ever installed with your account?
That right. The installed / uninstalled apps are save in your gmail account.
I don't know about any way to delete it.
