Hello,
I'm interested about buying an new MP3 player.
I am looking for one of the galaxy player.
For the moment we have 4" and 5".
I'm interested for the wifi and the GPS (will use a fly app) and so the battery.
Does the 5" run longer with his battery? Are they removable?
I see there is different version: US and international. Is there any advantage of one of this version (I need the french language)?
The new 4.2" is coming, it would be better I buy the new one instead of the 2 old?
Thanks

I'd recommend the Galaxy Player 5 over the 4 and 4.2-- The 4.2 really doesn't make any sense at all alongside a lower res camera (which is bad considering 3.2 was already low resolution lol).
I can't really say much about battery life comparisons, but the 5 has really good battery life, at least from what I've seen from using mine. The battery for the 5 IS NOT removable, but it's not a big deal.
The international has an actual center button, the US version has a touch button. Both should support French as a language.
So yeah, I'd say go for the Galaxy Player 5!
Also... poor French translation of what I said above below.
Thanks for the information.
Is the battery of the 5" removable?
When I say intereset of US or International is more like version, ROM...
So the 5" seems good. May be for the camera the 4.2" could do the same quality as the 5", I will wait for some test on the net.

I would honestly choose the 5'' over the 4.2'' in a heart-beat. But it all depends on what you want. If you want an amazing mini-tablet/mp3 player that still easily fits in your pocket... go for the 5''. If you want a smaller screen with a lower camera resolution, no flash, smaller battery, but still most of the same stuff... go with a 4.2''.
And you cannot remove the 5s battery, but there really isn't a reason too seeing as it lasts quite long and if you really you need a charger, wall-slots + USB ports are EVERYWHERE haha
As far as tests go... I don't think the 4.2'' will overpower the 5'' considering it's awkward angle update wise, it doesn't really change anything and honestly made no sense that they re-released something so close to the original 4'' in size. Then again, it is from the same minds that brought us the 3.6'' also.
So I will compare prices in US and EUROPE.
Because there seems to be no difference between this 2versions. Just the warrantly...
Thanks.
I earn more 40€ on the 5" model, instead of France
Some news of ICS release live from Sony France here :
http://www.sony.fr/discussions/message/766480#766480
Well, it's in french
France and Belgium will have to wait 4 more weeks for ICS. The post doesn't speak of other european countries but I guess they won't be better served...
,
Italian sony told that soon we will have infos... very very soon... we can only wait... and hope...
New post from Sony today on sony.fr :
No ICS in Europe before the last days of May. That confirms what has been written before on the same blog.
Sony.fr is proud to inform that the update will concern all tablets : P, S, WiFi & 3G.
Woaw...
mouarf ...
Correct translation
The Sony France guy did not write what the OP reported in English. Essentially, there was no such arrogance in the original message, which reads:
As was communicated on April 27th, there was an expectation of a 4 weeks delay for the deployment in Europe and as always, we will keep you informed as soon as we will have information on this matter. However for now, we are still on an end-of-May schedule.
I shall stress that all tablets will be targeted(S, P, WiFi or 3G).
in French for those who want to cross-check my translation:
Comme communiqué le 27 Avril, il fallait compter 4 semaines pour la déploiement en Europe et comme toujours, nous vous tiendrons informés dès que nous aurons des infos à ce sujet, mais pour l'instant, nous sommes toujours sur un timing fin Mai. Je précise que toutes les tablettes seront concernées (S, P, WiFi ou 3G).
Personal thought : 27th April plus 4 weeks do indeed run towards end of May, especially given how France stops working on so many non-working days this month. And yes, I'm as impatient as anyone to get that update!
Right...
OK, I must admit that the arrogance wasn't so obvious in the original post from Sony. I must have been under influence of other writings here in XDA which made me think that Sony could be arrogant with their customers.
Sorry if I'm wrong
what a crap. I had news that we would have an update to ICS in April.
WTF Sony come on!!!!!! Otherwise update straight away to Android 7.5
People complain of delays but they should be glad that sony is responsible enough for not releasing buggy software!
Its a 3g problem! That's the reason why its delayed in some countries. And sony cant release an over the air update for wifi tablets only, they can only release by nation..
I am glad sony is responsible!!

Hope but mistake
May 24th said by a Sony France forum user (not a Sony guy) to be THE date... By obvious mistake when looking at the source URL, wich talk about tablet P :

Still a good new for Sony tablet P users.

But this is a unofficial version of LineageOS and i think OP meant an official support from LineageOS.
But i don't think that we will get official LinageOS support since we did not even have official CM support.

In my case it's nearly the same. When running LineageOS on my Honor 7 I experienced about 35% less battery life than on EMUI.

What about stability? I came back to EMUI do to the battery life, but the notification drawer and the barely functional lock screen is driving me insane.

Stability is really good, papsi released a new update with improved battery life, and some fixes/improvements. I can say that I've tried the WB+Kang ROM bases on emui... It drove me insane ! Reactivity in general is really bad compared to lineageos !
By the way, to improve battery life on asop/lineageos, you can install greenify and freeze app you don't want to run, and enable aggressive sleep. (As emui has a built-in software doing more or less the same).
The main issue is the camera : it has glitches with some apps, and no zoom, no advanced functionality

How much better is the battery life now with the new fix? Is the fix available for public or just those in the donators group? What android security patch is the latest version on?

Battery life is good as you don't use a lot your phone. When it begins getting hotter and hotter, the battery drains terribly (like YouTube, games,...).
Generally, the battery life is still not as good as stock (I have less than 3h30 sot)...
It is a release for donators group, no more public I think (I can be wrong).
The android security patch is December, 1st but papsi should update it when lineageos team will publish the last one. He wants to put last updated packages as far as possible.

Bought it today, got the 64gb Version with android 7.1 for 160€, that was a bargain.
I hope we get a little tutorial for flashing the 8.0 Oreo from the 128 GB Version on the smaller one.
If the 128 really exists, you only get the small one right at the moment.
Item shoud arrive within the next 5 Days, if somebodz has a question feel free to fire at will ;D
I bought this one because my Mot Z has to be send in for a battery replacement. so know i have a backup phone which looks promising.

What do you think about Amazfit GTS? Please, give us your opinion and experience.
Its 1.65-inch AMOLED screen has a pixel resolution of 348 x 442, amounting to 341 pixels per inch (PPI), slightly higher than the Apple Watch Series 4.
The GTS's body is made of aluminum alloy, is 9.4mm thick, and weighs 24.8g. This also makes it a shade thinner than the Series 4, and a good chunk lighter, too. You'll have six different color options to choose from.
The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and housed in a steel frame. The watch will ship with 40 customizable faces to choose from, with up to 100 in total to come after release.
The Amazfit GTS is waterproof to 5ATM, meaning it can withstand being submerged down to 50 meters for 10 minutes, and will be fine for swimming. It also packs in NFC for contactless payments and an optical heart rate sensor to offer 24 hour monitoring.
With a 220mAh battery, the watch can last for 14 days by standard, according to Huami, although continuous use of its GPS and GLONASS tracking will bring this down to 25 hours. A basic functionality mode will turn the Bluetooth connectivity and the heart rate monitor off, but raise the battery life to 46 days.
The GTS should be useful for sports tracking too, with Huami saying that it comes with 12 different sports modes to choose from, including running, swimming, trail running and skiing.
GTS = Square GTR (same specs, only difference is screen)
GTR = Round BIP-like with AMOLED screen and waterproof
GTS = Square BIP-like with AMOLED screen and waterproof
If they didn't fix the GPS problem from GTR 47mm, it will also have bad GPS as well.

You cant as it doesnt run Android. Also, it has 16Mb RAM with 64MB storage.
BIP, GTR, GTS and Verge lite run a closed proprietary OS, you cannot install APKs on them.

Please, Angel, you must write in english. Answering to your question, the ECG feature is not available in the GTS, at least in Spain. I have read in some article that the ECG feature has not been approved by the FDA in the US because it is not a real ECG. In fact the GTS has not electrodes to check the electrical pulses from the heart.
Thank you for your response and I'm sorry about the language.
The Amazfit GTS watch does not have the ECG system, but if it has the PPG system, in fact in China the arrhythmia detection function is already working. That's why I asked the question.
If you want an Amazfit device with ECG, check Nexo. But it is not "continuous", obviously, and I am not sure if t is smart enough to analyze the results.
Thanks
