[Q] splash freeze with custom rom - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I’m kinda new here so hope I’ve posted this in the correct place I did search the forums and couldn’t find anything already posted.
I hope someone can help with this.
I had the jellyblast rom on my Samsung Ace GT S-5830i along with the boot img and modules that go with it .
This rom has been running fine for some time but yesterday I was messing around trying to free up space and deleted something crucial systems app so I thought a good solution with be to re-install
But after the reinstall of the Boot img Rom and modules the phone won’t boot past the Samsung splash screen!
I’ve tried re-installing a fresh download of the files in case they were corrupted and I’ve tried installing a different boot img in case there were problems with that.
It also won’t boot into download mode so I can’t use Odin so any install needs to be from the SD card
I hope someone can help I did like this Jellyblast Rom !
Thanks

Hey, I'm also new to this forum!
Try to wipe your dalvik cache, maybe it will work. If not you should wipe all partitions and install the full ROM again
Good luck!

Hi
Thanks for responding . Unfortunately I did try installing another rom and now can't access anything except the splash screen , I can't access the boot menus !
Tetatate

Yeahh, but did you wipe everything? Which Rom do you use?
Verstuurd vanaf mijn GT-S5830 met Tapatalk

I think it was a rom called RozoDroid that left it totally bricked.
I was using Jellyblast a ported jellybean rom for ages and it was very nice but it was when I tried to reinstall that I first got the sticking on splash screen on boot issue - but at least then I could get into the boot menu- now I can't do anything !!
I wiped everything available to wipe from the boot menu - do you mean somthing else ?

Yes Dalvik Cache, you can wipe it in advanced. If that didn't work try to install the previous rom.
Verstuurd vanaf mijn GT-S5830 met Tapatalk

Thanks but as I said I can't access the bootloader or download mode, only the splash screen.I think it's proper bricked! I don't know if there's any solution other than an new motherboard ! ?

Well I don't know WHAT you did but you should het acces to any menu, press home and on/off Keys for a while.
Verstuurd vanaf mijn GT-S5830 met Tapatalk

ye, it isn't happenning
I didn't do anything weird or unusual I've flashed custom roms a few times before with little issue.

So there is No recovery anymore? Have you tried odin?

[Q] Galaxy Ace GT-5830i stuck in recovery mode

Hello all,
I have an issue with my Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-5830i that is stuck in Android system recovery (3e) mode, and it seems there is no way to get it out of there.
- upon selecting wipe data/factory reset the device is stuck with one message "multicsc: src /system/csc/MTL/system/ ." and "Formatting /data..." bellow
- upon selecting apply zip from the SD card the installation always fails with various error messages (I tried to install cyanogen mod rom in an attempt to recover, but failed as well)
- upon selecting reboot now the whole screen disappears with only the "multicsc: src /system/csc/MTL/system/ ." message at the bottom of the screen and I need to remove the battery.
I will greatly appreciate if anyone on this forum could help with the issue, as I have search for possible solutions without any luck so far, and my phone appears to be bricked.
Thank you,
John
My guess is u still on stock recovery. Flashing cm rom or any other custom rom needs clockworkmod recovery, moroever theres no cm rom for s5830i yet.
For now u could try to reflash stock rom with odin. Theres a thread somewhere guiding howto do so for s5830i. Also do note that anything for original s5830 wont work on your s5830i.
Last but not least, do read more and understand what you're trying to do before u really hardbricked the poor thing.
Thanks for the pointers, I really appreciate it and everything works fine now.
It was actually my nephew's phone, so I have no idea how he managed to brick it like that.

I have the exact same problem. Except I can't even enter into download mode. Phone boots into recovery mode regardless of what buttons I press, get stuck at "formatting /data", and I can't flash anything. All the buttons seem to function as intended in the recovery menu, so it's not a hardware failure. Any ideas?

Oh right, sorry. Forgot about the download mode combination. Why they found it necessary to change it for this one model, I'll never understand. Flashed it back to life, thanks

Flash stock rom thru odin then from recovery mod Clear data and cache then reboot. [emoji4]
I know this is kind of old but I have same problem, i got this phone from cousin and it wasnt booting , it was going straight into recovery, since my mother has same phone and i used odin before to save her, i am familiar with odin so, I tried new firmware flash with odin , it passed on odin but again doesn't want to finish install on the phone, it says
installing update...
--appling muti-csc --
Fromatting /cache...
-- Appling Muti-CSC __
and it wont go anywhere from there , and if I reboot it goes back in recovery again and it wont format data again, formatting cache works. I also tried to flash cm7, rooted it, installed cwm but when i do reboot it is not in cwm but in regular recovery, so after that I installed cwm again and without reboot installed cm7 kernel wich succeded , after that installing the cm7 itself stuck on "installing update" , could this be hardware issue, it always seem to be stuck when its doing something with "data". I tried couple odin flashes multi package and single package, i was carefull to chose correct firmware, only thing i could make mistake is maybe with pit and re-partition. Anyone help i would appriciate it much since i have no other phone than this.

[Q] HTC One X+ Cyanogenmod 10.1 stuck on boot

Hello everybody, i'm new to the Android world (i come from iOS), and obviously i wanted to root, flash rom and etc...
My problem comes when i tried to flash CM10.1 (the one from lliar) after rooting and flashing recovery, until now all ok, i flashed CM but i forgot to flash the boot.img so i got stuck in the cyanogenmod loading screen!
"Haven't you try to boot in bootloader?" Yes, i tried also to boot recovery, but the all-in-one tool by hasoon2000 i used to root, gives me an error in the prompt that says: "error:device not found", so i can't boot in bootloader and recovery.
I haven't found anything about my problem on xda or google, but i know that i can solve it, question is: how?
Please help me, i really don't know what to do.
Thanks to all, davisons95
I posted this also in the general session because i don't know where to post it, please delete the thread that's useless.
Press and hold power & volumedown until device boots in bootloader.
Navigate with your volume keys and select fastboot by pressing power button.
Connect your phone to your computer and flash boot.img with AIO Kit
Leave your phone disconnected from the USB cable until you get into recovery using the method mentioned in the post just above mine. then plug it back in.
ive stumpled on upon a quite annoying problem..i have an HTC ONE X+ which i unlocked my bootloader on and everything went smooth until i wanted to start recovery via hboot.
it did not start and i tried several times and restarted etcetc, i then tried to flash in another recovery and then tried more and more but nothing..
then i cant remember now exaclty how i did it, but i have several RUU, kernel, recovery, boot and roms n such items downloaded
so i tried to feed in another flash or rom or whatever its called to get the recovery funtion to work (i am not very pro at this) and then when i wanted to start my phone normally it all of a sudden wont boot properly.
it freezes on the bootscreen.. i can turn off and go in to bootloader but i cant do ANYTHING from there, i cant do a factory reset (wich i also tried when the recovery did not want to work) i cant do **** there. tried to lock and unlock bootloader.. feels like im out of options..
the only thing i can do now is command the phone via cmd and the toolkit i use from here "Hasoon2000s htc one x AIO kit"
using this guide on this thread mostly..
ive tried so many things now, searched this and other forums since friday and i still can not get anywhere... starting to think this is what the definition of a bricked unit is??
if you need any more info please just ask.. i bought the phone a week ago so kinda sucks if it would be useless for me right away haha..
i would appreciate som help and tips... please
Sincerely Jeff
Have you guys tried to flash the ROM this way:
1. Factory reset (via CWM)
2. Flash the ROM
3. Flash the GAPPS package
4. Very important (because you move from stock to another ROM): Wipe cache AND dalvik cache!
5. Reboot and try
Step1a or 2a flash right kernel

I do exactly as you advise (using TWRP 2.6.0.0 on my Hox+) but I keep getting booted back into TWRP after the reboot system command (the fashing was successful, TWRP stated, of course)
Do you have any ideas?
thanks

the openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-enrc2b.img is the one I use
You have to flash the right kernel via tool or fast boot. That's the fault. Open the zip from CM10.1 and extract the boot.img

oh maaaaaan.
next issue after finaly getting CM10.1 (20130714) up and running, withn gapps jb 20130301 - all apps fail on start.
play store, mail.... nothing works.
I cannot mount the SD card with my Win7 PC
If i hit Galery for example I get presented a "no external memory" warning and the app closes.
Any ideas?
thx
Would try a clean install, it has to be working
Part of the issue is this

the rest is due to you not doing a clean install

is it possible to check permissions somehow?
it feels like this is some kind of permission thingy... the filemanager in cm is also unable to read the sdcard as well as the camera.
Systems apps are all running, though (checked via Properties/Apps/Active).
Found this "Fix permissions" option in TWRP/Advanced.
Can I try this one?
'cause I did already like 5 complete cycles with Wipe/Factory Reset from TWRP, Flash CM +GApps, wipe cache, reboot system -> no apps working after CM launched
Lloir mentioned another possibilty.
You need a folder "0" ... See the link above ...
Just to check - do you have an AT&T or International phone? I hope you arent trying to flash CM10.1 on an AT&T

no, don't worry, I got an international one
I will try the advice of Notechis and Llior today afternoon... just got top finsh work before.....
EDIT::::
the folder structure was ok.
I had this data/media/0 folder with all subfolders and files in it.
Wrote also in the other forum that this was not the issue and I tried to format all particions I can access from TWRP, wiped, factory reset, flashed the boot.img new, sideloaded the latest CM10.1 release for HOX+.... still everytime the same behaviour: all apps abort with the error message that no memory or SDcard was found.
I asume really that I do something wrong here, as I already use CM 10.1 on my SGS2 and my TF700t without any issues.
Or my friend's HOX+ is just broken.
But a broken sdcrad whould also cause trouble in TWRP file manager - right?
but there was everything okay and accessable (that's how I checked for the data/media/0 folder btw.)

P4: Stuck on bootloop, wipe data/factory reset hangs

Suddenly this afternoon my P4 keeps hanging, frozen window while internetting. P4 did not react anymore.
Restarted it and it hangs during CM circle.
Booting in recovery worked. but only download section worked: the left icon after which twrp normally started did not react.
Through Odin I installed CMW 6.0.3.3.
I can install zip files, but wipe data / factory reset does not work. It hangs and does not react.
I installed as wel the CM10.1 from the last three days without any problem. Only wiping still does not work end starting up hangs in CM - circle.
What can I do to solve this?
Thanks in advance for your advise.
Sorted it out already.
The only solution that worked was installing the original software through Odin and then afterwards the procedure of rooting and installing everything again.

You can get the Odin-Firmware-Files @ http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Odin can be found through google
Btw.: There is a thread, which answers all these questions and how to set your Tab back to stock...
Thanks TNa.Plastic... The fix was stock recovery and the format worked.

[Q] Complete beginner with softbricked device (SCH-I905)

hey guys, as mentioned in the title I am a complete beginner with rooting so I had to follow the rather old guides here on xda. To keep the story short: After the initial root I got the e:signature vertification failed error, so after endless googling and flashing different recoveries I am now in a difficult spot and getting quite frustrated. My device is stuck in a bootloop, I only see 'Galaxy Tab 10.1' and after that the screen goes black.
I have tried holding the power and volume buttons to enter recovery mode, except there are 2 problems to that: 1. My model of the device (vzw 4g lte SCH-I905) is almost non existent in the world of tablet rooting so there are no stock roms and 2. When I select the recovery mode option on my tablet the screen just goes black and nothing happens.
Anybody have any thoughts on how to fix my tablet? any help is appreciated and I can provide any other details you need to the best of my ability thanks guys!
Try flashing this recovery in Odin. http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=3158

Hi @eushaun99, I flashed that recovery via odin and it worked, thanks a million, appreciate your help! However, my device is still in a bootloop, even after a factory reset. I would like to fix that so I can connect the device to my computer and install the ROM thru recovery mode or could I do that thru odin as well? Thanks again!

Well, since the flashing of recovery worked, then just boot into recovery, make a full wipe of system, data, cache and dalvik cache and flash the ROM of your choice. If you want to flash stock ICS then boot into download mode and flash via Odin, but since your p4vzw doesn't have any stock ROM available, I can't help with that. The only p4vzw ROM that I know of would be Infamous AOKP 4.2 by kasper_h, maybe you can try that.

I have found the AOKP rom you were talking about, but now the problem for me is to get it onto my tablet so I can flash the ROM. I have wiped the system, data, cache and dalvik like you said but I am still unable to get out of the bootloop after I restart it. During the bootloop it shows Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 and then a yellow icon comes out, sort of like a yield sign, and then the screen just shuts off, any thoughts?

have a look an that website. search for recovery firmware for your phone. it should give you the recovery 4 file firmware
http://d-h.st/mzeV
only found this , but i can't download it :|
Can anyone help me with downloading that file?
don't know what's wrong with dev-host , but can't download it .. tried 3-4 different pc/mobile and networks, with no luck
Finally fixed problem.
1)So to boot device you need custom kernel like Aroma for 925P
2) to get out of continuous restarts because of samsung security, you need to instal custom recovery TWRP and then from recovery, mount system and from apps delete every folder with Knox in name and also samsung dm folders.
That's how i got my device back in working condition. i can't remember exact folder names, but keep digging and delete everything related to knox and dm
i've even got my imei number back, so seems like efs wasn't damaged "too much" and only samsung security apps messed them up or something like that.
Anyway my phone is working now , so if you will be in same situation you can use this as tutorial
And no Z3x and similar boxes were not able to fix this, two local guys tried with z3x and similar tools with no success
