Previously I was using rXtreme ROM 4.1.2. After updating it to rXtreme 4.3 the USSD language has changed to Chinese (I think). Is there any way to change the language back?

Modem USSD Issues
Hello. I recently used the Allience ROM for my S3 LTE, and I think it must have flashed a different modem (I think?), because I then started getting Chinese (maybe) replies to all my USSD codes.
I've since gone to Cyanogen, but still the same issue. How can I get my USSD menus to be in english?? I've tried just flashing the modem from the official release for my country, but no use, still Chinese to me...
What should I try next?
thanks amir

Hey!
Just install the CodeRom, like the TUTORIAL says(install first XXKPH) and so on. You can ALWAYS flash back to STOCK(xxkc1) firmware, with ODIN. Tutorials here to flash:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1034145
Dont worry, if you FLASH stock like XXKC1, it revert back to ORIGINAL XXKC1

There is your ASIAN FIRMWARE to download(..DXKC1):http://hotfile.com/dl/115777717/fa0f409/S5830DXKC1_OLBKC1_DXKC1.rar.html.
If this not helping, you can try them ALL,to revert in to STOCK. Here is link(you must be registered to see download links):http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-s5830.htm

You'll have to go for a multi-package from 2.3 to 2.2 or the phone won't start. Just sayin'

yes, you have to show that you have stock firmware, and unrooted. and don't tell em you did all those flashing and rooting in your SGA. It is region based, so no problem there. and remember your apn settings.

Hi guys. I want to find out the pda version (by dialing *#1234#), but nothing happens. The code doesn't work for me, nor other codes. I searched for a bit but couldn't find anything. I'm on RootBox 1.7. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.

Dialer codes don't work on AOSP/AOKP ROMs... which RootBox is one of. (They also don't have a PDA version, per se)
almost any *# codes doesn't work in AOKP roms.
what are u trying to get? modem?
No, I'm trying to get the PDA version, because I want to install JKay deluxe framework. Is there another way to find it out? And if this rom doesn't have a PDA version, how ca I install Jkay framework? Because I should download the version that matches my PDA.

I don't think you can use JKay on AOKP or AOSP. I think you can only use JKay on Samsung based firmwares and ROMs.
If you can't use it on a custom rom, why is there an option to download a deodexed version for custom roms? (it is clearly specified that it is for custom roms)

Custom ROM doesn't mean it isn't based on a Samsung firmware. There are a ton of custom ROMs based on Samsung stock.
Yeah, I didn't think of that. I just realised it. Thank you!

In fact I was looking for a solution to switch back to Custom 4.1.2 as it was the perfect ROM so far for me.

Check your IMEI number, wheather it was changed to 0049XXXX - I have had the same problem. I downloaded from Sammobile firmware v4.3 and flash your phone with odin. My IMEI and network connection was restored. Looks like Samsung does not like us to downgrade the firmwares.

Solution.....
Hello guys....
I am very thankful to the xda forum and all the members who helped me to get through a serious problem..
Recently I installed 4.3 Leaked version on my GT-I9300 and the ROM proved to be worst ROM of life. So I decided to go back to 4.1.2.
I installed the custom ROM via Odin but I confronted a serious issue, when I was finished the installation I found that there was no network at all... Samsung's official told me that it is impossible to reverse the Android version...
I had no clue what to do. I flashed many ROMs but no solution at all. My IMIE was also kinda jumbled..
Many guys said it is EFS issue... But it is not EFS issue...
It is all because of different Modem issue.. all you need to do is just install a clean custom ROM from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/ and Install the patched modem... you are done..
So here is the solution:
1. Download your desired CUSTOM ROM for your Country from Sammobile...
Link http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/2/
2. Install the ROM via Odin
3. Root it and Install your favorite recovery.
4. Install the Patched MG4 Modem Zip in Recovery Mode. Link https://www.dropbox.com/s/geispctijp...9300XXEMG4.zip
You are done....
This problem is all about MODEM version, so I don't think if EFS tricks are involved here.....
Finally credits go to all the XDA Members who put their heart and soul to present all the required guidance for me to be able to downgrade to lower Android Version.. I have only compiled the whole stuff into a single thread....
Thanks,,,
Plenty of solutions....

Dear sir,
Actually the problem is not finding the solutions but finding the right solution.
Worth members of XDA Forum post a lot of solutions for a particular problem and thus newbies like me get even more confused... So it definitely takes some time for us to come to a point when we are able to get the desired results.
Sometimes, we are not able to clarify our queries.....
As in my problem only a Modem was required while I was looking for EFS solutions!
After Flashing the MG4 modem my battery life has become worst. I don't know if it is because of the Modem.. but whenever my phone is on airplane mode then the battery remains at the same percentage but while on network my battery keeps on draining without even texting or calling

But when I flashed the XSA rom it caused the reception to drop out on both sims.

yes, i knew that this is a quite-official firmware. my question is, since there are 2 lollipop FW for SM-N750 (SER and INU) now, which one is more stable?
ps: by the time i wrote this post, i already flashed INU FW, and same old problem: battery drain faster than KK, and lockscreen lag (i already disabled lockscreen animation and did a hard factory reset. didn't solve the problem for me)

I can't test it because I don't have n3n with me.
But lollipop version is not good in battery KitKat is far better..now marshmallow has improved in terms of battery.
Mobile radio active bug and google play services are the main cause for battery hogging in 5.1.1
