Using clockworksmod recovery to return back to stock rom?

If I create a full backup from the recovery menu, and then install cyanogen, will I be able to return back to the stock rom using the backup?

I would recomend getting hold of a stock rom for your phone and flashing through Odin

You can get all firmwares from here...

And yes you will loose all your installed apps
Thanks... Does these firmwires include apps from samsung?

Yes when you apply the original firmware the phone goes back to the way it was when you first bought it with all Samsung apps.
Thanks alot, am downloading the stock JPKG5 firmwire and kernal now.
One last question, what is the purpose of creating a backup from the recovery menu?

I personally use it to back up custom roms i like so when i try new ones that get released and i have problems with them i can always go back to the last rom i used which was stable
Ok, can't it be used to restore the stock rom back from cyanogen?

Its to backup a rom as simple as that .
original rom no cannot back that up as it does not have cwm recovery .
You can restore a good working rom in a very short time instead of a clean install .
Its rom settings and apps at the point of backup .

You can put any CSC to any phone its nothing but \a few text and xml files .
I have ICS CSC on my phone but that has nothing to do with keyboard .

I second that. You just have to grab keyboard app in a Chinese Rom if you run stock Rom, or a third party keyboard in play.
Csc is mainly for apn stuff and sometimes some specific carriers settings.

No Google Play for YP-G70

I have flashed CM9 and Paranoid Android. These ROMs can be found in the android development for the galaxy player 4 and 5 but the problem is that neither of those ROMs had Google play store and I did flash the gapps right with cwm 5
Try Flashing again. And make sure you are using the correct version of gapps.

You can't use the stock apps because they require samsung framework which is only in stock roms. If you want stock apps,.you.must use a stock rom.

Click to collapse
Go to Settings> About Phone> Firmware Version. If the firmware version is something like this, "S5830I*****_S5830I******_***", then its official. If you have a custom rom, then the firmware version will be the name of that rom. Another way to check whether the rom is stock or custom is by looking for the folder init.d in /system/etc (You might need a root file manager for that). Official Stock roms for Galaxy Ace doesnot have init.d support while almost all of the custom roms have one. Hope I Helped
