not directly. Root V10A, install CWM and then flash any Rooted V10G or V10H cwm backup.

Use the forum search and you will find the answer. The answer is yes. It will probably take a few tries and it will succeed. Good luck.

You said you are on P769-V10E, then you can root, but never upgrade to V10G and many people are stuck on V10G as they cannot root it and cannot downgrade too.

U can upgrade to v10h after rooting without any problems. Thanks to cmahendra
Go to rooted cwm backups here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136204, download whichever version u want, flash it.
Remember firsrt u must b rooted, then install recovery by artas, flash cwm backup which u downloaded from above link
How to root?
Am not sure whether 10f s rooable or not, check rooting thread. Well its better if u downgrade ur device to v10A then root, then flash cwm backup to any higher version u want

If i downgrade to v10a i'll lose all my data, right? So, if i decide to do this downgrade, i have to do a backup, i think.
So, in synthesis: Downgrading, rooting and then flashing?
I was wondering if anyone had any advice on the next step I should take to root my phone?
I have the a T-Mobile LG Optimus L9 P769 with the following OS; Android 4.04 with Firmware 10g.
I have tried the following methods to root the device....with no luck:
Gingerbreak, root with restore, one click root, recoveryClockWorkTouch, and pretty much most of the others out there.
Is it possible that the phone has some form of modified privileges done before hand?
Is there a specific way to root my phone, or am I missing an essential step?
Please any advise or tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.....
Try lelus method of rooting, it works for all firmware n all variants. Check in development section :good:

I read a lot of guide on this forum but all of them are outdated or too hard to understand for me . So please help me root this phone step by step, thanks!
Im using Android 4.4.2 , not modified anything.
I see there alot of autoroot app out there, is there any of them work for our device?
Ps: what is the difference between this device and the butterfly, are they the same?
They are similar hardware wise with a few differences. To s-off/unlock/root on 4.4.2, you will use Sunshine then flash a custom recovery of your choice.

Not for the DNA. Blame Verizon. They block access to HTCdev. No Verizon phone made after the Rezound can unlock the bootloader via HTCdev.

I do not install custom roms or anything, but it works fine with apps that required root access.
One step more?

I am at the point of installing Sunshine. Now wanting to gain permanent root, so I can change ROMs if desired.
I tried installing TWRP through some ADB commands, but had no success. Can you assist? I also read that after installing a recovery, I should install / flash UI.zip, but had trouble locating it; the couple links I tried were dead.
Can I gain permanent root on 4.4.2, how?
Thanks
