[Q] virtual phone??

Hey,
So I'm messing around with my rom you know uot kitchen and stuff but the thing is I dont want to flash my customized rom to my phone because I allready bricked it once and dont want to do so again. And I heard of someting called a virtual box or something so I was wondering how does that work and will i be able to flash a rom in the virtual device??
Just take a nandroid before flashing anything so you can restore.
You sound very new at this. Please read all the guides and FAQs before you do anything.

Yes I am pretty new at this and by nandroid do you mean a backup with clockworkmod?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Yes a nandroid backup via a custom recovery such as clockworkmod

I'm afraid.. If boot menu wnt come after bricking we can use nandroid only for secondary flash r8?

I suspect Joshua was not using brick in its true sense, which is to brick a device meaning it is nothing but an expensive paperweight

But I'll have to admit, a smartphone emulator is a cool concept. Android emulators exist already, but not specific device emulators

Siyah Dual Boot - Rooted and Unrooted Rom

I have a Galaxy S3 and I'm using dual boot successfully. I was wondering whether I would be able to dual boot a primary rooted and secondary unrooted rom side by side?
Enquiring because I want to be able to use apps such as banking, Sky Go and any other that don't work with root
Thanks in advance

If it's a rom that includes the SuperSU app, you can unroot it. Should work. Infact Stweaks also unroots....

I thought that was the question I was answering.
Well if unrootin the secnd rom desnt work using superuser, then just remove /system/app/supersu.apk and /system/bin/su frm teh rm.zip before you flash it.

Sorry for the confusion. I think I'm writing it wrong I think, I know how to unroot, that works.
But Sky Go still detects it as a rooted rom
What I want to know is can I put a stock unrooted rom for secondary rom with siyah Dual Boot. Without affecting the first rom and root?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can only flash stock roms via odin which won't help you since you must use siyah recovery to flash 2nd rom.... so no...
There are only TWO elements to root which I have suggested you remove manually (follow link to sticky roll-up on signature for root basics).
If sky go still detects "root" after that, its nothing in the rom that its detecting....
So remove the files from the rom before you flash it.... if that doesn't work, nothing will

It detects root because the first ROM (the main) is rooted. You could try switching example swap primary and secondary roms

if yes your phone is android is mtk, you can use this for tool
for tut to port any rom for your device you can read here
I don't want to necro this thread or anything, but I'm also having a problem with CWM. I'm attempting to port it to the HP Slate 7 Plus, but both manual builds and builds from the CWM Builder give a black screen when booted into recovery. The recovery.img I provided to the builder was fine, because I was able to reflash it and get back to stock recovery.

Some Questions

I recently rooted my Blu Advance phone using framaroot and installed supersu, tutanium backup, etc.
Ive seen on some websites to install cyanogen mod. Can someone tell me like the pros and cons of installing it? Are all apps compatible with it?
Another q, my phone has android 4.2.2...if an update is released, will irlt unroot my phone?
Thanks in advance

Well, since you rooted already, there's not really anything to lose by installing CM. You've already voided the warranty so you got nothing to lose! CM has lots of nice additional features. I have it on my Hisense Sero 7 Pro. I haven't seen any apps that are incompatible with it so I would say go for out!
In regards to your other question, It probably will not unroot your phone unless it is a very large update that changes system things like the binary. So I would say no.
I downloaded the cyanogen installer and ran it but it says the device is unsupported.
Is there anything else you recommend me to istall? I already have the big apps like greenify, titanium backup, and supersu
