So i recently bought an ipower brand power bank 50,000mAh.. its pretty cheap..
And i wanna see whether it is really 50,000mAh or not because i charged my phone only few times and it is out of power. my phone battery is 1,160mAh. So weird.
any suggestions to check? im scared mine is fake.

The amount seems ridiculously large. But hey, who knows. Charge the powerbank, see how many times you can recharge your phone battery (or get friend's phone and friend's friend's phone too)

Is it about the size of a car battery? If not, it can't be 50 Ah @ 3,7 V. LOL
its like the size of note 2 and longer a bit. quite heavy.
well i noticed it takes like 8-12 hours to charge the powerbank when its really out of power.. could it be 50,000mAh since charging it is so long?

@alvster
Only way to be sure is to measure it or rip it open and see what kind of cells and how many there are inside.
There is one more important question - 50 Ah at how many Volts? 3,7 V? 5 V? Or 1 ... ? The cells inside are likely going to be 3,7 V, but you never know how much power it actually stores unless you know both capacity and voltage against which it is measured or, even better, wattage.
Chinese External 50000mAh Backup Portable Power Bank Disassembly
I found out this video which shows how the chinese 50000mah power bank looks inside
it has 5 cells , on the box it says 50000mah
youtube.com/watch?v=uecIquH7fU8
what do you think about it's capacity? is it any good?
For the Common appearance we saw in the market, the maximum capacity can be achieved 20000mah.
There are some supplier who provide power bank higher than 20000 mah, but normally they use 10 pieces of 18650 battery. And the the maximum amount of 33000mah can be done (nominal 34000mah)
Power bank has amp more than this number must be false.

8-12 hours is not very long at ALL to charge. I have a new 33,000mah battery that has GREAT reviews by a company called "Zero Lemon". It takes close to 20 hours to charge and can charge 2 tablets and 2 phones all at once. But again, it takes 20 hours to charge it (And when it shipped to me it wasn't completely empty so it would take longer to charge if empty). If you wanna see it, you can find it here. Google "Zero Lemon" and "30000" and you can see pics of it.
It's $59.99 and so far I LOVE it. Hope this helps. But again, yours just seems to charge WAY to fast for being larger than mine!
Fake
Generally speaking, the max capacity of power bank is about 20000mah.

Hi,
I found a compatible with BST-38 (for the mini pro) Li-ion 3.7V and 1420 mAh (my phone battery is Li-Po 3.6V and 970 mAh), do you think that can be "dangerous" to use one of these batteries? (The brand name is Jin Dian and what worries me is if this difference of 0.1V can damage the mobile, whether it will be more or less good in general) You can see it on ebay (220676929621).
I'm just desperate because I tried autokiller, setCPU, advanced task manager, juicedefender, etc. (droid wall and Wisync didn`t work properly in my phone), but my battery dies in less than 15 hours...I need a solution!
Thanks and sorry for my poor English
15 hours using it how? full? idle?
SE says with android 2.1 the battery life will be increased 200%, maybe before to burn your phone you should wait a couple of weeks and try if it is true... xD
15 h with data connect on for k-9 email, but without BT, wifi and a couple of calls.
I bought the same battery and have been using it for the past 4 days. To be honest, it lasts about the same as the stock's. Maybe with a few more cycles, it would last longer.
But does anyone know of any app that could measure the mAH?
There is a BST38 battery with 1930 mAH selling on eBay but will burn a HUGE hole in your pocket!

Have you tried using other launcher/homescreens? Mine lasts 24hrs max before, now it lasts 30+hrs (with helix)
I used to charge my phone every 2 days. I used it mainly for calls, sms and internet. I dont stay more than ten mins each time Im online which could be 2-3 times a day. I dont have bluetooth, wifi and 3G switched on. But lately the battery life is dwindling...maybe cuz I have more apps now...sigh.

I've had one about 2 days now. Read reports saying to go full discharge/ full charge about 4-5 cycles to realize full potential. I've ran it down once fully and down to about 30% a few times but with my work schedule/activities I dont like to let it get too low for fear of having to be leashed to a wall plug or charger for awhile. BUT i can say that the life seems to be getting better and as for the actual size of it.. seems big at first and in pix but i'm fully used to it now and I'm comfortable with it. Havent checked the actual stats on how long since unplugged in comparison to the stock, but I'd say for the price it was worth it..
At $30 I'm thinking about it. How much thicker did this make your phone rickriego?
I am guessing that this doesn't work well if you use the fingerprint reader?
Might be able to get used to the added dimensions, but how about weight? Was that pretty noticeable?

I have had a 3200 mAh battery from Seidio for about 3 months. I have all my radios blazing throughout the day. I listen to music over the cell network while in my car for a 1 hour commute. I leave my GPS on all the time. I use Bluetooth in my car. In short I have all the features of my Atrix that I paid for. I get 16 hours on a charge on a hard day. I plug it into the charger at bed-time.
The battery shown above may well be phoney. My Seidio is the real deal. I have no financial interest in Seido.
I am on stock OTA GB from AT&T. My only complaint is that by early afternoon my Atrix begins to complain (falsely) that my battery is depleted. I've haven't researched the problem fully yet, but there is a battery daemon (battd) that I think I can kill and end that silliness.
I have tried all manner of battery calibration juju to no good end, I have posted about it in other threads with lots of advice and no resolution. Let's not hijack the OP's thread.

Seems same brand as this one http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-HIGH...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item519a60619e ( I have an optimus) which is $2.95 .., someone is making a lot of money if it's selling for $30
BTW I have the above battery and it works fine, if I had to guess I'd say 1200mAH, seems worse than stock 1500 slightly. after 20 charge cycles I think it's starting to go bad, not sure yet, it died at 40% the other day.
I just recieved this one and WOW
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/3-7v-3...-pack-with-back-cover-for-moto-ma860-4g-65800
Streamed a 2h 20m movie over wifi without taxing it at all. Plus when it fell to 1 percent it stayed on for about an hour. I'm on cyanogenmod right now so I know the larger size battery needs to be recalibrated. I am also assuming that when you switch from the lower MAH to the higher one the battery information stored on your phone would then be incorrect. Basically everytime you switch batteries you should clear your battery memory in your recovery or download a proper recalibrating app to do so. Hope this helps everybody!

Hey all,
Since there's no Q&A thread as of yet, I'll be posting my question here.
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I have searched for it but couldn't find the answer.
My Xperia S just came in today, I started recharging the device when it hit around the 10%.
However, it's recharging so, so slow! Is it supposed to be this slow?
I thought the Xperia S was supposed to have fast charge capabilities?
If so, how do I charge it faster?
It's a Dutch unit btw.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Nope, using the supplied charger and cable..
EDIT: Also, there seems to be some lag on the home screen and especially in the app drawer.. Anyone notice this?
There are 2 versions of chargers shipping with the XS, EP800 ( less power output ) and EP850 ( More power output )
check your charger to see if it is an EP800, i am pretty sure it will be. The 850 does its job much faster.
Another way Sony is "cheating" on us.... after i got my XS replaced twice in 1 week and already waiting on another replacement it just do not surprise me anymore that things like this happen with this device.
First Flagship from sony alone and it is already a catastrophe

It's no safer than the 850.
The phone was made to withstand the 850 charger (one of the selling points actually was its charging). My phone (Tmobile NL) was shipped with the speed charger, but I'm noticing that after a few weeks the phone seems to be charging fast in general, on any charger...or maybe I am just imagining things?
I have an old BB charger that I use sometimes (I have chargers all around the house from old phones, i swear :/) and it seems to also charge it fast.
Edit: Also, on both chargers, my battery life is just as fantastic at night I charge my phone while I sleep though ( I don't get why you wouldn't charge your phone while you sleep?) so maybe my battery is more worn-in than a lot of people.
My phone is plugged into my " old " desire charger at home, which seams to charge faster than the default one , saying that , I also use my PC to charge ,so maybe the little top ups help + the charger at home .
It does last a while now, however we are running a powerful ( mini ) PC , so we cant expect too much !!
Hello XDA. Another post to try and help the community. I just received my order from eBay and wanted to share.
So I decided to buy some extra batteries to have on hand so as not to run out of juice. In the process, I also wanted a separate charger to keep them charged. To my amazement, I found the Anker charger WITH 2 replacement batteries for $14.99 shipped from a California seller!
I also ordered a Hyperion desktop dock that has a built in charger for an extra battery. This dock should arrive later this week but also a California seller off eBay! I'll post when that arrives.
Anyway, back to the Anker. Packaging is nice. It's in retail packaging as if it's sold in stores. Comes with instructions too! The charger is universal and can charge many different styles of batteries. It also has a USB port to charge another item while it's charging battery. The other nice thing is it will charge from a wall outlet OR a car charger! The mini USB plug is also on the side with the USB port. I'm not so sure on the charging pins however as they seem a bit thin and will require to be lined up every time a battery is inserted. The pins slide from right to left to allow for different size batteries. That's another issue. The battery for the Note is so big that it has to sit off to one side to allow for the charging pins to make contact.
The batteries are also retail packaged and come with instructions. They are White in color... Matches my Note.... And seem about the same weight. They are listed at 2500Mah but I have yet to try them out for longevity.
There are many pics I've taken to try and paint a picture as to what you'll get if you decide to order. Hopefully this will help someone who may want or need them. Any questions, let me know!

I got something similar for my Xperia Play last year. I only wanted the charger but it came with two batteries and was only £10 or £15.
I expected the two batteries to be useless but here I am a year later still using them, sometimes for weeks at a time as my primary battery as I tend to charge my phone a lot so it helps keep the official battery good for longer.
The batteries are of course not as good as the official one, probably around 75-80% as good but I have been very happy with them so far. So even if these batteries are similar that is money well spent in my opinion.

i just use it like any other battery, charge it and use it.
after i got these inexpensive batteries, i havnt use the original samsung battery!
these anker battery last me the whole day just like original samsung battery. (i charge it when i go sleep).
the only time i swap battery is when phone battery is getting low or i forgot to charge it.
I also bought this same Anker deal for my Galaxy S -- off the same guy. They seemed to work as well as stock, though I didn't do any testing. They were supposed to be 300 mah bigger then stock -- I didn't notice a diference. Funny thing is it was more expensive for the batteries for my Galaxy S that are smaller then these haha. Anyways I'm not a huge fan of the charger. It says in the manual to not leave your battery charging for more then 24 hours, so I assume that means it continues to charge the battery after it reaches 100% and you'll want to take your battery off as soon as possible to avoid degradation. The charger is also made for any battery so it has these awkward sliding pins you have to set on your batteries + and - each time which can be a little annoying. Other then that, great buy.

I got these from a seller on Amazon for 8.99 I think it was. Couldn't go wrong. I actually get better life from these than my samsung battery!
Well, first charge cycle was in the 10.5 hour range with 3:25 minutes on screen. Charged it from %1 overnight so lets see what day 2 brings. I leave the wifi on as well as GPS and I'm in an LTE area with so-so signal. My average life is 12-13 hours with 2.5-3 hours screen so if I get the same oit of these, I'd be just fine with that.

Ok well charge cycle 2 is complete. About the same results. 12 hours total with 3:15 screen time. This was what I was getting with the original OEM battery. Off to cycle 3!

Hi Guys,
I’ve no experience of using Power Banks ever so here is my queries and doubts. As far as I know as much the mAh the power bank have, it can hold more current and charges other device for long. Is that correct?
# My primary question is it safe to Power Bank to Charge your phone?
# Also is it safe to use a higher mAh external charger like 10400mAh? The stock charger shows 2amp output.
# Could it damage the battery for longer use? (I love my phone very much and I scare to use non branded after market stuffs)
I found this product Xiaomi Brand Power Bank 10400MAH (please google it and see the description) and it has 10400 mAh, and looks like best for Note 3’s giant 3200mAh battery. So is it safe to go for this product?
My purpose of using this, like once in every two full charge. Please advice, thanks
a "power bank" is nothing more than an external battery. Almost every cellphone manufacturer makes one. The bigger the mAh, the more power it holds and the more devices it can charge..
In my experience, it is safe to use them. I have a few that i have used over the years. I would recommend getting one where the mAh is more than the battery in the device you want to charge.
I have a Motorola external battery that is rated at 4000 mAh. I use it for my Note 3, but it will not change the Note 3 t0 100% if it's starting from 0%. Even thought the Note 3's battery is 3200 mAh. But other external batteries I have used have been able to. I assume it's because their mAh is higher (9000 mAh and 10400mAh).
As for the specific one you are looking to get, all I can tell you to do is read the reviews, and if possible, search the reviews for any references to Note 3.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes I’m looking for reviews specificly for Note 3. Just two question, any external power bank charger charging rate/speed is similar to the adapter (If its mAh is higher than the device battery)? Or its more faster or slower to charge full?
The one I’m looking for its specification shows Output voltage: DC 5.1V and Output current: 2.1A (TYP) which is slightly higher than the OE power adapter. So is that safe? However it says it can automatically adjust the output power according to be charging devices. Don’t know how far its true.
My only concern is it shouldn’t reduce the stock OE battery life.
I use this one and have no issues using it to charge the Note 3 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EHEEFWY/
Unless it's big enough to fully charge it twice I don't see the point in getting one.

Is this the powerbank you are planning to get one? Looks good.
Yeah honestly anything with a 2 amp port and 10000 MAh will charge your note 2 twice I would say maybe a 11000 MAh charger just to make sure since I believe there is a loss of power during the transfer which causes the external battery brick to discharge faster and causes there to be a significant loss of charging capacity at least in my experiences
I use this one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003ZBZ64Q/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1400257970&sr=8-1
It will definitely charge your note 3 two times and it has a 2 amp port and a 1 amp port. Under $40.

Has anyone tried this combination?

4x 6000 mAh = 24000 mAh
doesn't sound bad for 16$

I have never had one reduce the battery life of an OEM battery for any phone I have used. I have heard however, that the capacity drops for the external battery over the course of time. The first one i had (Motorola P793) had this issue, but I opened it up and replaced it with a larger battery (THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED!). It lasted for another 2 years and before I opened it up I had it for about 18 months.
As for the Voltage, it needs to meet or exceed the voltage for the OEM charger. Also, make sure the miliAmp (mA) or Amp (A) rating meets or exceeds the OEM charger. That way you will get a similar charging speed. Cannot say it will be exactly as fast, but it will come close.
Why use power bank with galaly note 3 when it has removable battery? Spare battery would be much more convinient. No wires, smaller size and you will not have to wait till it charges the phone.

Yes this is the one I’ve selected, it has 10400MAH so I think it should charge the Note 3’s 3200mAh giant battery twice. Also it has kinds Apple looks and I will get it here at around $28USD
But actually I was looking for something which I can carry with the phone attach or I can still use the phone when it charging the phone even if can charge single time. That would be great user friendly. I really liked this one (attached image) but it has only 2200mAh which cant do a full charge sadly.
I just dislike when I’ve to leave the phone away for two+ hours for charge and I missed calls and messages.

Ok, thanks for the details, I will keep those in mind. And yes I heard too these power banks performs good for 1st 6months as its battery quality is not great like the OEM phone battery.

Yes that was my most preferred way, I love to stick with OE equipment. But the issues are:
I use this leather flip cover and I love it too, I have to remove this and then again the stock back cover, also power off the phone. Those will be long process to replace the battery, not a convenient way for me.
I'm using the 15600mAh A-Solar XSTORM Power bank. I use it to charge my Note 3 and my NotePro. http://www.xtorm.eu/EN/xtorm-power-banks/xtorm-power-bank-15600-646.html
So far I've been using it intensively for 5 months and it hasn't started degrading yet.
You appear to be mistaking mAh for Ampere charging rate. The Note 3 battery is 3200mAh, it charges at 2A. Basically, it's an 80 litre gasoline tank and you can fill it at 0.5 liter per second.
- Yes, you can use it safely. There's no damage risk.
- Pick one with a 5V 2A port, because anything lower than that is not powerful enough to charge the Note 3.
- No, it can't damage your battery. The phone doesn't draw more power than it can handle.
Anything below 10.000mAh is not worth the money, in my opinion.
I also have an additional battery. Which is wonderful, but not very useful when you're in the middle of something. Changing the battery during a call is not convenient.
I was using the Rav Power 10400mah power bank since last year and it helps when I am out on the road or on a plane (13 hour flights.. yeah it helps!) Thats 2 to almost 3 charges for my note 3.
I gave it to my wife so she can use it, I got the Zerolemon for my note 3 now so I dont need it as much
The reason why a power bank makes sense, at least to me, is that it's not device specific. I'd rather buy a power bank and share it with my iPad or my Nexus or whatever phone my friend may have, rather than having to randomly carry around a spare battery that can only help me (and it's kind of hard to justify carrying around a battery when I could carry around something that could charge multiple devices simultaneous). It is also one hell of an inconvenience to have to find a safe place to take my case/cover off and swap out the batteries. To each his own, right?

lol! The zerolemon 18000 mah charges my note 3 atleast 3 times. I bought it a month ago. Charged the external battery all the way once and probably charged my phone it 3-4 times by now and i still see the portable pack to have 1 bar out of 4 left on the charge meter . This thing is a beast to the max

If you are into good case covers for the phone, then you know it sucks to have to replace batteries. If you're gonna be out for the whole day and you have no access to outlets and still need to use you phone a lot, then you'll need a power bank.
Thanks for all your feedback. Yes definitely higher mAh power source should charge multiple times. Like gutlessmerc said, if one can do full charge 3 times then definitely that is worthful.
Actually while traveling except Flight I don’t have power issues, I mostly use my car for traveling and use car charger. But the great thing would be if I could carry the power bank in my pocket when its doing its job. That would be great for me. So I don’t have to leave the phone for charging. So beside the mAh I’m also looking for a slim one. Not a bulky stuff.
