Do any one know solution for this type of problem? Using 360Yunpan application for usage of 36TB of space but couldn't understand Chinese language so decided to decompile and recompile the app changing it to english language but unlucky its giving error saying this app is not the original application. Can any help me finding out the solution? If this trick is used in all other apks then probably it would be difficult to decompile apks. The screenshot info and errors of decompile and recompile are attached.

Hope I am in the correct section here.
I am trying to delete/re-arrange Menu entries in Settings.apk for my HTC device. From some research I performed and from some Gingerbread mods I know that the file to edit is the HtcEntryProxy.smali. However it is a bit difficult to find out what exactly is going on there!. How to I find which values to change in order to delete some menu entries ?
I have successfully decompiled the apk and I can re-compile it too.

Hello all, i just wanted to ask how to translate an apk. I was practicing with some apps to translate some english parts in my MIUI rom, edited strings and arrays in values-es (spanish is what i want), but when i recompiled, the .APK was smaller, and when i tried to install, it said App Not Installed. I tried with APKTool and APKManager, same results. Please help!
I think you should get the source code and create another language xml file to make it work and rebuild the project. In case there is no lang file nowhere in the source, you may not translate it.

Anyone knows how to Decompile/Recompile System apps from MTK phones?
I'm using apktool 1.5.2.
I can decompile like "SystemUI.apk"
But I can't recompile. Even I didn't edit anything yet.
Hope guys you help me. Specially those who have MTK phones. :crying:
EDIT: Problem solved! I just install mediatek-res.apk as resources too

Me also faced problem for decompile and compiling but this apktool solved
Just Google " Decompiling_Resources_21.3.2013 " and download it
extract it anywhere . open the folder containing apktool.jar then shift+ rightclick u wil get command promt window then type Install framework-res.apk using apktool if framework-res.apk
then decompile any apps . I hope this would help u .
is it possible SystemUI can NOT be recompiled due to some omitted frameworks/files?

I hope somebody experienced in MTK modding can shed some light on my problems, cause I'm out of ideas..
I can't find a way to successfully recompile either framework-res or System UI in a "no-name" ROM on a MTK device (6572). I'm not an expert in modding, but I know my way around this subject and have successfully disassembled, modded and reassembled many MTK (and other) ROMs so far.. however - this one I just can't recompile w/o errors like this:

Ofc I installed all available (?) frameworks (in my case 2 apks in /system/frameworks: framework-res.apk and mediatek-res.apk, tried as many available tools as I could find here on XDA (automated, manual, different apktool versions, etc), but nothing "works". I've also scouted the whole file system for any additional, hidden, resources, but could locate nothing.
So - I can decompile anything, but can not successfully recompile none of the "system resources" (systemui, framework-res, mediatek-res).. my question is this - is it possible that these resources, that aapt is reporting missing, are actually omitted (missing) from the ROM?

Hi, I've recently learned to translate app by replacing strings.xml from it. Translated few apks, but, when i tried to find strings.xml in decompiled SystemUI,apk i couldn't. Can someone explain me why there is no such file like in other apks, is there different named xml or what? Thanks in advance.
