I am planning to buy my son and daughter the new nexus 7 for for education purposes, they are 6 and 7 respectively, so their frontal lobe is not yet developed to make sound judgement. It is against both our family code and kyokushin oath to engage in sloth, and I certainly don't want to buy them a device that would do more damage and good.
I have discussed this with my wife that the only condition we going to buy to the tablet is that we can be sure that no gaming app ever can be installed. If I let my children sign in with their own gmail account into the nexus 7, is their parental control that I can set up that would notify me that gaming apps have been installed on their account or better block all game apps?
If all else fails, I'll just have to periodically check the tablets for gaming apps.
Bump
You can get them rooted and replace/remove the odex file after they install a game. So when u see it, you know which games they play, what types of games they play etc. So if u do that, then they wont be able to play till the odex file of the game or any apk is removed or replaced.
Happy to help
But the new Nexus 7 comes with an Android 4.3 right? And on that version of Android you can make "restricted profiles" and put only the apps you want. You can also put a password on your Google account so any time your kid tries to download any app from the Google Play store there will be a password and he won't be able to do it.

But I still want my son to be able to use his Gmail and other Google services.
I'm sorry if this has already been posted.. I have a very strange problem. My phone was not used for more than a year (not even turned on). Yesterday I decided to use my phone. Everything was working fine but there was a strange problem in Play store. There are very few apps in the app store, I cannot find most of the apps and games in the Play store. I deleted then added the google account, manually updated the play store to 3.10.10, but that didn't solve my problem. I'm running CyanogenMod - 7.2.0-RC1-olympus. Can anybody help me??
Did you update the play store?

Hi
I bought this watch a few days ago and recently found out about a feature of playing music on the Wear device. So i happily went to the Play Music app on my Moto G to enable the option that downloads music to android wear but there is no option there.
Is there something wrong and is there any other of transferring music to the Wear.
PS - Its noteworthy that there is no Music in the Indian Play Store
If anyone is seeing this :-
I solved the issue.. What i was suspecting was correct.. The option to download music to android wear is available only in the US and some other countries' version of Play Music app.
I used Psiphon amd fake gps to access the US store, downloaded the US version of the Music app and got that option.
This is really unfair to users not living in the US and some other countries.

Yes, but its useless because the music you can download to android wear should be bought from Google Play Store i.e. you cannot transfer the music from your phone library to the wear device, it must be bought and downloaded from Play Store.
Any ways the process to access US Play Store is
1) Go to Developer Options and enable 'allow mock locations'
2) Download 'Fake GPS Location' app from Play Store and set the location to North America
3) Download 'Psiphon' from Play Store and tunnel the whole device to United States granting force root access.
4) Now is the most boring part, create a Google id and in that give addressees and phone numbers of US. Give the address and phone number of any hotel in the US
5) Next is to remove your current Google account on your phone and add this fake id.
6) Then clear the Play Store date and cache.
7) Enable Fake GPS Location and Psiphon
8) Open the Play Store, accept terms and conditions, Link your fake US id and enjoy US Play Store
What if i just download the apk of a us version of playmusic, will that work

Hi everyone I'm trying to buy some apps and games from the Play Store but every time it gives me an error on my phone and the website, I've tried clearing the data on (Download Manager, Play Store, Play Services and Play Framework) and tried removing my Google account and re-adding it but nothing worked with me I don't know why!! and of course I checked my credit cards and they're fine.
My phone is Nexus 5 running Android 5.1 and my Play Store version is 5.3.6
Please guys help me I need to buy things and that's so annoying
P.S. I attached screenshots for an example of the error on the phone and the PC.
Thanks in advance.
Hi! I have come here with a lot of hopes. I hope u guys will help me out.
My tab Samsung Galaxy tab E 9.6 (SMT560) running android 4.4.4 landed in a problem with google play store and its services. I received my tab from UK Two years ago. It is now rooted. I stay in Bangladesh. 4 hours ago, I observed an unusual activity from my play store and its service. I had strong WiFi signal and a 6mbps broadband connection. Even then my play store said I am not connected to the internet whereas I had a strong WiFi signal!!!! Then I downloaded an apk file of play store from apkpure.com and observed that my play store got cracked and it corrupted my play service too. ???
I suspect that the game hacking app freedom had corrupted it. I can't even log in to my gmail account on my tab even after formatting it!!!
I would be grateful to the one who will kindly help me. Well not forgetting to mention that if the fixing solution have to rely on a PC, I m sorry to inform that my PC's power supply is dead. My parents won't give me the power supply until my O levels at 2020..
But still give me the solution.
Install an App Named Root Explorer from any Source.
Open it grant Root access.
Go to System and then Etc and Look for a File named hosts
Delete it.
Reboot
Delete root explorer app and if you liked it buy from official Google play store to Help the Devolper stay Motivated.
Don't pirate Things.
If it does not solve you issue clear Store's data and Reboot.
Do it after using Freedom every time.
