So I'm using a phone with mt6577 processor ICS,my main problem is cpu frequencies doesn't "stick" i.e. when I set 500mhz max freq. cpu still jumps to 1ghz,the only solution i have in mind is to compile my own kernel from source.
1. which version of ubuntu can i use?
2. if i use kernel source from other phone with mt6577 processor will it be compatible?
3. if it's not compatible how can i make it compatible?
4. is there any alternative solution to my problem? like using custom kernel for other mt6577 phones
anyone??
Devs needed to build Android 4.2 for any MT6577 device - its huge community, but for now we dont have JB 4.2.
Here you can find full kernel and device sources. I hope that it can help.
Here is MT6589 kernel sources, maybe thats can help (all mt6589 devices works on android 4.2).
Maybe we can get cm 10.1? Here is CM9 booted on Mt6577.
For your work you will be thankful a lot of people.
Using frankenstein tech I managed to mash cm 10.1 to mine neken. But...haven't tried with my mt 6577. No promises but i will try and port if some on can find me the stock N9977 rom. Not sure who made it... Closest one i found Star N9977. Cant find stock for it though.
Sent from my neken N5 using xda app-developers app

lol
There's no JB 4.2 for MT6577
You can only get til 4.1.2.
BTW, Mediatek SOURCES are INCOMPLETED, that's why there isn't no CM rom's til this date.
Even the ICS Sources still lack some files.
You can say thanks to Mediatek, they use alot of proprietary sources!

I found these opensource.zip and Toolchain
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=850f
http://gnutoolchains.com/download/
but I don't know to make an custom kernel and I am using win10. But I want to make a bit overckocked like these threads to G850F variant of Alpha (A15(big)Core Clock 2.0Ghz~0.5Ghz about max %11.1... overclocked, A7(Little)Core Clock 1.5Ghz~0.2Ghz about %15.384) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-alpha/development/kitakernel-v3-2-1-sm-g850s-k-l-t3272876)
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-alpha/orig-development/kernel-custom-kernel-t2981120)And This kernel has overclock supported but this kernel isn't compatible with LOLLIPOP.
PLEASE!!! Can Someone make an overclocked kernel to SM-G850F in LOLLIPOP ?
Thanks.:good:
I have updated this thread Because still any kernel support overclock in Lollipop for 850F variant.
Can Someone Help me?
Thanks:good:
I want to port rom developed for Nexus 6 to LG G3 Cat.6.
They both have same processor GPU and RAM.
HARDWARE
Processor 2.7GHz quad-core
Processor make Qualcomm Snapdragon 805
RAM 3GB
Internal storage 32GB
So If i want to port any ROM then what changes will I have to make?
Those changes are in kernel?
If yes then How can I compile kernel?

You need to make changes in both kernel and system.
Search the developers section on XDA there you can find plenty of guides regrading this topic.
Hope this helps.
