Hi everyone,
I'm writing to understand why my camera is no longer working properly after changing my ROM from stock to CYANO 10.2,
basically the camera focus correctly when I tap the screen but as soon as I push the shutter button, it focus back (refocus) making a blurry photo. It doesn't have any sense because It was working smoothly before CYANO and now seems that doesn't want to make sharp photos.
Two photos attached, one with sto ROM and one with CYANO.
If anyone can help It would be great because I can't keep a ROM that doesn't allow me to shoot photos.
Thank you very much to everyone.

Alright everybody,
I have had the mozart now for a few weeks and everything is outstanding on it, it's pretty far removed from WM6.5.
The only problem i'm having is the camera just seems to shoot a little blurry, I know some of the pics are me not quite keeping still, I was just wondering what settings it should be on for a good picture.
Thanks
Graham
Hi,
I've not changed any of settings and am getting pretty good results (when I remember to wait for the 2nd flash that is!).
Will have a play about with the settings over the weekend and post if I find anything interesting.
I'm currently thinking about getting a 7 Mozart myself and was wondering how the camera performs.
Could you please take some pictures and post them here?
Thank you very much in advance.

I'd say that's a superb quality for a mobile camera
Could you please post some pictures (preferably in bad lighting condition too) of the camera, too?
Thank you for your work

How does the Mozart camera compare to the Omnia 7? I am considering either this for the camera or the Omnia for the S-Amoled.
I'm experience the blurred image as well and I did not change the setting either.
Just wonder how to take close ups with this camera e.g. when i take photos of a book the words are not readable, blurred???
EDIT: Wrong thread !
Anyway, I'm having the same issue with "blurry" pictures. Even my N900's 5Mpix camera is performing better... *Sigh*

This might sound a bit odd, but u know the button on the side to press to actually take the pic? .. Hold it in for about 5/6 secs and it seems to zoom in and crisp the focus ... then click to take a pic.

Have you tried Macro mode? Works well for me.
I've not had any problems with blurry pictures.....unless I move after focus has locked. Unfortunately there's no Microsoft update coming for me being bad at keeping still!
Ok, we need to press the camera button for a while until it adjusts the focus, then close ups can be taken and once focus is locked then there is no blurr and images are just excellent. thank dov74.
any thing i'm missing in settings about macro mode? not sure where it is.

No Problem.
Macro mode is under camera/settings/scenes then it's the last option. I've not taken any proper photos with it but I've messed about with it and have gotten good results.
From memory, another member on here uploaded a picture taken in Macro mode - will have a look and see if I can find.

thanks dov74, I've found it, never scrolled the scenes option further down
Hi to everyone,
when i take a picture with my SGS3 the pictures are mostly to dark for me,when i change the exposure to 1,0 instead of 0,0 then the pictures are just fine.Everytime i close the camera the exposure value is set back to 0,0 again.I have tried a few camera apps but most of them are just fancy-editing-facebook-twitter-teenie-apps (ProCapture is nice but same problem as with the stock camera app).I know that there can be made a shortcut but sometimes i need the camera really fast and then i want my settings to be saved as i like.I searched the whole internet and there where a few posts about this problem but with no satisfying solution. So if you know a solution or a simple app that takes shots like the stock camera with my settings saved,i would be very thankful.
Greetings
Try camera zoom fx
Well,i tried the App but the same thing happens.Anyone got another solution?
Thx anyway

the camera on stock GB rom works flawlessly, why do you need the ICS version.
ICS camera is the best for me, macro mode is better than in stock camera, is smoothly and take brighter pictures, I don't know why everyone is recommending stock camera maybe I have something wrong with Achotjan ROM, but I don't think so, can someone help?

Have you tried Vignette? I think it's the best camera app right now. With 8 Mp 'Super-fine' mode you can get a 5 MB image - while with the stock or other apps (like ICS Camera or CameraZoom) you can only get 2 - 2.5 MB. I've compared a image taken with Vignette and other with stock camera, on maximum zoom in Album. Huge difference, the details in the first are amazing. You must try it. :cyclops:
Since upgrade to the Cyanogenmod, the camera on my i9100 is making zoomed pictures.
Digital zoom is set to 1.0, so theoretically there is NO zoom set, however when compared with another i9100 pictures are cropped.
To have the same view area I had to zoom to 2x on stock rom!
Picture quality is also very poor especially in macro mode (it's having problems focusing).
Currently I have the 11 revision (4.4.4) of the Cyanogenmod (nighty from 07/07/2014). Previous CM was behaving the same way.
All photos are saved as 3264 x 2448 resolution.
I like this software and don;t want to go back to stock rom but I also need a good camera, so your help would be highly appreciated.
Edit: I have downgraded to stock ROM and problem is now gone, so it must be something with CM.
I have since tried 3 different KitKat ROMs (C-Rom, Neat and Slim) and all suffer from the same problem - poor quality of BOTH cameras (front and rear) compared to stock Samsung ROM.
All rear cameras capture cropped photos compared to old stock ROM.
I don't think it's a fault of my mobile, since after downgrading to stock ROM everyhitng is back to normal, so it must be KitKat. I am just surprised that no one else noticed this problem
Did you disable True View in the camera app?

I could not find this feature in CM11, but found it in other KitKat system. After disabling camera crops a bit, I can live with that, however quality of photos is still bad compared with stock ROM. I will try to upload some photos today to show the difference.
After upgrading to SlimSaber, camera is taking good quality photos again, so problem solved.
Hi people,
I already asked this in a ROM thread, but since I have the problem on other custom rom too, I decided to ask it here.
Yesterday I flashed the Aosp Extended ROM. Everything except the camera is okay.
Today I flashed the Viper ROM. Everything except the camera is okay.
The problem is, when I am about to take the photo or, before I click on the shutter in the camera app, the picture is too blurry or I have problem with focusing.
After I have taken the photo, the photo seems okay and not blurry like in the "preview".
I have attached two photos. One is screenshot of my camera app, other one is a picture taken with that camera app.
As you can see, the screenshot is just blurry.
Anything that could be done on this point?
I came from MIUI 9 global version.
Flashed Firmware in the AEX thread, flashed rom, flashed gapps. Camera was bad.
Now I have flashed the Viper, camera is same.
Is it maybe Firmware problem or something?
Thanks.

Ya, that's same with everyone in custom roms using that default camera app. Preview is grainy and blur, but after taking the snap the photo comes out good. For better camera results try out the google camera mod app. :good:
Exactly. What I can see through the app is bugging me, the photo after shooting is alright. It'd be great if they find out a solution for this, it is tough to know when the object is focused with the current situation
Alright, thanks for the infos.
I thought it was only me but if its on every custom rom like that, then there is nothing I can do..
Just, @Shubho20
with google modded camera, is the preview okay? Or its still not as good as MIUI stock camera?
