I am not sure if you are able to enter the bootloader, if you are, try a factory reset.
I think you also have stock recovery, else you could have tried to flash a ROM.
If both the above are not there, i think you could visit the HTC service Since your phone is LOCKED and S-On, there is almost no way they can find that you messed up with it.
@benzersizadam
Are you saying its stuck at the boot loader? If its stuck you since you are s-on you could copy the ruu file (named appropriately for flashing from hboot) to your SD card and let hboot flash it back to stock. Then s-off again. To relock for finger print scanning purposes you do NOT have to be s-on ...just relocked
If you are truly S-on you will need the encrypted version of the RUU (I have a copy if u need it).
You will also need to put the file on your SD card and have it named 0P3PIMG.zip
Then boot to hboot and let it run (should reboot twice).

If it's international do the HTC dev unlock option and at least get boot loader unlocked so you can get back to stock and hopefully s off. Or look for someone offering java card service near you as they can immediately s off the phone...no os required.

You need S-OFF to flash this. This zip is flashed through HBOOT. Do not flash it in recovery. I assume no responsibility for any damage done by using this file.
It will work for any HTC Amaze on any carrier as long as you have S-OFF and SuperCID (check the stickies for instructions on how to get these things). I have removed the HBOOT and Recovery from the leaked ICS Rom football posted. That is the only modification to this rom, otherwise it is completely stock and contains all other parts of the update. I think it is a better alternative for anyone with S-OFF because they don't have to reflash recovery and HBOOT after flashing.

You have to register for this but it's super quick and easy. It's the best site I know of. If you know of a better place to upload I'll upload it there, I can upload this file in about 3 minutes on my connection. I will not use Filefactory or Dropbox.

Ok I see what you're saying.
I THINK you do need S-OFF since HBOOT & Recovery have been removed, but I may be wrong about that....
S-OFF is fairly painless, it's all about timing.

S-OFF/SuperCID/ENGHBOOT on a Wind Amaze here, get a Fail-PU (106) on the NFC file mentioned also, just FYI
*See Below*
Forgot to mention that the new HBOOT is necessary to flash the nfc update, as far as I can tell the juopunutbear HBOOT and the ENG HBOOT do not understand it, which is why it reboots after installing the new bootloader and before flashing nfc. nfc seems to work fine without it. Will add to original post. Also gonna repost with it ripped out as well so it doesn't throw an error, even though it doesn't matter.

Champion mate, thankyou
Can't confirm NFC as yet, but even with a 'partition error' after flashing on the ENG HBOOT, the ROM functions perfectly. You can root just by flashing the usual SU.zip.
Thanks for the good work!
Isnt SuperSID just for if you are on another carrier? IE: If I have a T-Mobile Amaze all I need is S-Off?
Since this is basically a stock ROM, I assume that everything works fine with it?
EDIT: I always get confused too; hboot is the same thing as the stock bootloader right? Hold power + volume down?

You shouldn't need SuperCID on the T-Mobile one really, but if you run into issues it doesn't hurt to have it on there. Plus if Wind get 4.0.4 with Sense 4.0, you won't have to be jelly
HBOOT is the white screen, so yeah the stock bootloader. An ENG (Engineering) one unlocks more and allows you to send a wider variety of commands

You don't need SuperCID if your on T-Mobile
You don't need S-OFF to flash this
You could flash this on S-ON.

I'm not 100% but since I have modified the file (presumably breaking it's signature) I do not believe it will flash with S-ON. None of the files inside are modified, some are just removed, but the file itself is modified by those removals. As far as I know if even one byte of this file is changed it will not flash with S-ON. If someone would be willing to test with S-ON then I will update my post if necessary, I have no way to test personally. I do not expect it to work but it is definitely a possibility. If it does work, it will only work a T-Mobile Amaze. If it will not work, it will not damage your phone. It will fail a signature check before it installs anything. If it does not fail that signature check then the entire thing will flash as it is verified in it's entirety at the beginning of the process.

The reason that it says partition error is because nfc flashes to a partition and it fails. This is why it still works fine even with such a seemingly menacing error. I have ripped it out until I can figure out what I talk about in my first post. No one should receive any error now.

Did you relock your bootloader?
Your bootloader needs to be locked to be able to update with PG86IMG.zip (or any other).
Relocked didn't work. It's looking pretty grim.
Nononononononononononono you don't lock you bootloader to update PG86IMG's that makes it impossible. Your bootloader has to be UNLOCKED and you HAVE to be S-OFF

I've flashed PG86IMG.zip all the time with Unlocked bootloader. I would not relock it.
Let me ask an obvious question -- are you s-off? If you are s-on it will never work.
**** actually after I thought about it for a min, it doesn't matter if your bootloader says Locked, or Unlocked or Relocked as long as you are S-OFF you can flash the file.
and yes it does matter if its GSM or CDMA.

Wait what? Are you talking about the splash screen? or the boot annimation?
Because you cannot flash the splash screen while s-on. Impossible!
The splash screen is the White HTC screen by default. This screen sits in the same partition as the Firmware and Radio and you cannot access it while S-On. Again I say Impossible!
My bootloader actually say locked buy I'm s-off. I can flash the splash screen , radio or firmware at any time. Does not have to be unlocked as long as you are s-off.
Thank you all for your feedback,
However I am S-OFF (Using the Unlimited.IO solution) with their version of HBOOT (This may be the cause)
I am currently testing all options before releasing any more items.
Rezipping a splashscreen using winrar not 7zip - Completed
Recreating the .bmp file - Completed
Flashing the splashscreen using fastboot - Completed
Still having the issue :crying:
If anyone could shed some light onto why my PG86IMG.zip files aren't getting past the "parsing" phase that would be wonderful.

Can you boot into a rom as normal, or are you stuck at the bootloader screen?
If you're stuck at the bootloader screen, then I would find a way to unlock your bootloader (try HTCdev, hopefully it will still work) and then flash a recovery, a rom and then finally a kernel. You might need to run a stock RUU before you can re-unlock your bootloader.

Your bootloader needs to be unlocked to be able to flash a recovery; it must be locked to run a RUU. If you don't have the stock recovery on there then the only way I can see forward is unlocking with HTCdev.
If it's failing, you need to post some output as to why. Copy and paste the error text, or better yet, take a screenshot and post it here and people will be able to help you more.

Why are you wasting your time when you don't even understand the basics? This is another example of people that jump straight in without reading. Then expecting the community to clean there mess up......
For your bootloader to read "relocked" you must of unlocked and locked the bootloader atleast once. Why can't you remember how you did it?
Your best bet it to search your email for the unlock code HTC sent you the first time you unlocked the bootloader, download and flash it, then flash a custom rom.
Good luck

Hi guys,
My phone is a AT&T HTC One 64GB. I rooted and flashed a custom rom few weeks ago. Today I wanted to unroot the phone so I followed the instructions and downloaded the RUU file for AT&T as well. After relocking the bootloader I tried flashing the RUU which started pretty smoothly. One thing I noticed was the image version of my phone and the downloaded file was different. The version in my phone was 1.26.502.6 and the downloaded file was 1.26.502.12. I proceeded with the installation. Which started ok and the phone had its HTC logo lighted up, but after about 20 minutes the installer showed a message saying error and stopped working.
Do you think I should retry doing this or find a file with the same image version and flash it ?
I tried Unlocking my bootloader after this again but it did not work. cmd freezes.
Please help me out..
Thanks,
Did you flash the stock recovery prior to running the ruu? I think this is required in addition to locking the boot loader.

Sure.,
When I flashed the ruu I got an error message and my phone froze where the HTC logo comes during the flashing process.
I tried restarting my phone using the power button but it did not restart and I just plugged it to my wall charger and the phone went back to the bootloader which said "ruu" intend of the normal fields in the boot loader.
Then I tried restarting again and it worked and I tried to go to the bootloader on the restart and I was back to my bootloader. Tried unlocking the bootloader so I can restore the phone but it didn't work either.
I switched off the phone and charged it till the battery was full and then tried unlocking the bootloader, then it worked, flashed the restore and got my phone running.
I relocked the bootloader and tried flashing the ruu then it worked, and that's how I did it.

Sorry I forgot to mention that. What I meant was I restored it with a backup I had of the custom ROM I was currently using. The rom I used was TrickDroid and used TWRP to make the backup and used TWRP to recover it.

yes you can as long as it is the same version or higher, than what is on your phone if you have unlocked your bootloader you need to relock it before you run the ruu

which methode?
Now this one is the exe method.
1. Download your device specific RUU from this sticky thread or Google for it.
2. Run the RUU and when its de-compressed and asks you to press next, just stop there (Don't close this window and dont press next).
3. Go to the "temp" folder on your PC. If you are on Windows 7 its located in "C:\Users\{Your_User_Name}\AppData\Local\Temp" and on Windows XP its in "C:\Documents and Settings\{Your_User_Name}\Applications Data\Local Settings\Temp"
4. Use the windows search function in "Temp" folder or dig deep into sub folders to find "rom.zip" file. It'll be around ~250MB in size.
5. Copy this file and paste it somewhere else on your PC e.g. desktop.
6. Rename this "rom.zip" file to "PG85IMG.zip"
7. Now take your SD card from Phone and connect it to your PC using a card reader or some other phone.
8. Paste that renamed "PG85IMG.zip" at the root of your SD Card.
9. Now power off your phone. Pull out the battery.
10. Insert the SD Card back in the phone. Insert the battery.
11. Now hold your volume down key and press power button. Keep the volume down key pressed. It will start your phone in boot-loader menu.
12. Select FASTBOOT if its not already selected and press power button.
13.It will search your SD Card for files and will find "PG85IMG.zip" file and will ask if you want to update.
14. Press the volume up button as instructed to continue and then sit back and relax.
Once finished it will ask you to reboot. Once rebooted, you'll be back on stock ROM with S-On.
Delete the "PG85IMG.zip" from SD Card now.
To verify S-On reboot into bootloader again (Step 11) and on the very first line it will say S-On or S-Off
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk
for flashing PG85IMG.zip my phone must be locked or unlock?
To flash back to stock you need to relock the bootloader and make sure you're using the correct image for your device and carrier. S-on or s-off doesn't matter. For example, trying to flash a T-Mobile image won't work. In one of the pinned threads in one of the forums here is a link to the stock images for different carriers. If you can't find it do a search, but I'm pretty sure they can also be found in the Amaze Bible page or in the Amaze Wiki.
Once relocked all you have to do is rename the image and flash from your SD-card in hboot. If it fails to flash you're probably using the wrong image or you're still unlocked. Once you've relocked the bootloader it will say relocked. If the image is from a different carrier it won't work either. Again just make sure the image you're trying to flash is from the carrier that originally sold the phone. Then you should have no problems returning to stock.
i relocked it and went to hboot page
it says
Loading .....[ph85img.zip] then
Checking....[ph85img.zip]
after side bar fulls says "hboot version is older !"
update fail!
press power to reboot
can u plz find me suitable ruu for my phone i tried anything!
htc amaze 4g and my splash screen was mobilicity at first

So... I asked similar questions a month or so back about Telus.
I can't successfully rollback to the gb ruu or the ics ruu. The ics ruu is an ota which appears to need an gb install.
Pure stock tmous ruu check for tmous cid and fails when it finds the Telus cid.
Finally installed arhd 4 and s-off tool ran without error. I could then flash radio and hboot
