After the updating to 14.2.A.1.136 whenever I reboot/boot the phone it will stuck on the boot animation screen (the color wave still moving ) I have to force shut it down many time until it boot normal. XZU is rooted. Any idea what can be the problem and how to fix it.
Because I did factory reset it but did not help. Any one has the same problem

In the two or three days after release of 136 I flashed it maybe 8 or 10 times and never had that issue did both clean, dirty and part flashes...
What update method did you use?
I would be tempted to do a full backup of your data and then do a clean install from a FTF or do a PCC fix phone (whatever it is called)

OK so it was working fine before?
Have you installed xposed, or any modules lately? - I've had that hang a boot
You could always do a reinstall of the rom and then flash the stripped FTF again ie follow the instructions like doing a new install
@[NUT] any other ideas as it's your rom?

Ok thank you very much.
Just remember that Xposed adds a recovery file on your internal storage in case things like these happen. So if Xposed causes any issues, like a bootloop, just boot into recovery and flash the "disable_xposed.zip" (or something with that name) and reboot. Voila.

Is your bootloader unlocked at the moment?
It should work as lordmanhattan said.
Flash boot.img from carbon
Flash carbon from recovery.
You could start over and flash new ftf then do the above instructions...

yes bootloader is unlocked
sorry i know im being tedious but just to re check ...
1. flash ftf (my zu is from HK so the latest is .681 ftf)
2. then fash the boot.img from carbon
3. then flash carbon onto my phone
in this order you reckon it would fix my problem?
(going ahead and giving it a try anyways in the above order lets see if it pans out)

As you seem to be having issues I would go back to stock and satrt again, and the steps above should do just that for you. I would boot up after the first step just to check that everything is upto speed on the phone.
I wouldn't worry about getting a HK firmware, just use any of the unbranded/generic US/EU 757 FTFs
I cant see why it didn't work straight from PAC , hell the kernel in Carbon boots the latest PAC just fine

ok bud tired it now the problem is the dam phone keeps going into recovery boots and gets stuck on sony and then reboots and goes into recovery any advice!!!
Flash a stock tft with flashtool in flashmode and it should work again.
Anyways flashing the kernel with the boot.img in fastboot mode should work.
Have tried that flashed the latest ftf. Then used the root guide didn't work used the boot.img from carbon from pac rom. Still just reboots , my issue is I want a custom rom cos I'm happier with a custom rom, so I get root on the stock. But I can't seem to load a custom rom, first it was midway boot now it's recovery reboots , I want a custom rom any advice .

Do it like this:
- flash boot.img (flashtool: fastboot mode)
- wipe cache/dalvik cache (CWM Recovery)
- flash the ROM[.zip] (CWM Recovery)
- flash the GAPPS[.zip] (CWM Recovery)
- reboot
That should work.
I mean flashed ftf , fastbooted boot.img from carbon, had recovery reboots (meaning the phone would boot up stuck on Sony logo and then reboot into recovery ) then tried pac rom boot.img no help, infact flashed ftf cleard cache and data and then flashed boot.img flashed rom , had same recovery issue, then tried a full wipe, (ofcourse flashed ftf again) I mean went into mount storage and formated cache data system etc etc, now I'm really baffeld I have tried everything I find myself getting everything to work except putting the custom rom someone help

You forgot to flash the rom itself. Just flashing the kernel (boot.img) doesn't to anything instead of flashing
the kernel. You need to flash the ROM to have working Operation System. That's why just the logo shows
up and goes into recovery. Put the ROM (the .zip file of the rom) on your SD Card and go into recovery
and go to "install .zip" and choose your file. After that the ROM should be loading after Boot Logo. Don't forget
to flash the GAPPS after flashing rom.
Pacman Rom: www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/13688-pac-togari-4-3-build-1-20131214-044914
Pacman Gapps: www.blownco.com/index.php/doc_download/13604-gapps-jb-20130813-signed
here is an example for installing the rom and gapps:

Just do the same with your files.

ok not so clear on what you are asking but here goes
had a c6802 cracked the screen (using carbon rom on it loved it) bought a c6833 wanted to try pac rom put it on realized my batt consumption is way too high so tried to switch back to carbon now, while doing so i flashed carbon rom Double tap to wake and carbon kernel, here started the spiral, first few hours couldn get any thing to work read up looked up a few of the forum, and ftf fashed the generic hk rom things got ok, but then root was the issue so found out the root method, fastboot .img and flash cmw supersu.zip, all fine and dandy didnt mess with it in anyway
since then as i have explained im gettin a recovery loop even when i flash the stock rom (cmw flash not ftf) so now i have the latest stock rom with root but i have sony's stock i want a rock in which i can add a menu button and change the dip and everything doesnt crash if you know what i mean....

maybe the solution for you would be too install xposed framework which gives you the features you want. It allows your to "modify" your stock rom like the advanced power button menu, editing the navigation and status bar and stuff like that.
http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer
you obviously need ROOT for this.

I tried updating my xperia z2 to lollipop but it keeps restarting, doesn't go past Sony logo. I have tried 2 different lollipop versions 23.1.A.0.690 and 23.1.A.0.726 both were pre-rooted with recovery files. I can flash ftf files with the flash tool without any issues and successfully boot into lollipop. What am I doing wrong? I am coming from 4.4.4 rooted with dualrecovery installed.

You can flash kernel first, then try to reboot. If it doesent reboot after flashing the kernel, you can try to flash the fota also.
Don't think its any danger flashing the fota. If memory serves me right, the fota is somhow connected with ota updates.
Remember to uncheck everyting under the wipe: section and check everything but the kernel(and fota if you want) under exclude section

The set warranty bit isn't a problem, it's just the phone's way of showing you have a custom recovery installed. I get the same notification every time I boot up but I was able to root successfully. I assume you're using the correct version of TWRP and the superSU zip?

Same as normal boot up if I remember correctly. I also hadn't set anything up yet, even skipped the initial setup wizard that runs when you first start the phone, because I knew I planned to install cyanogenmod as soon as I was rooted. I only booted into system after I rooted once to run a couple of apps that require root in order to verify that I was, in fact, rooted. After that I wiped everything in order to install CM

I need logs or something, because as I've said, "set warranty bit kernel," isn't a problem, that's normal and expected. I can't know what's wrong with your device with no information.
Did you try starting from the beginning? Flashing the stock OL1 Odin file, booting that up (not setting anything up except a Wi-Fi connection), and trying rooting with that? Did you try opening the TWRP tar file with 7zip or WinRAR and extracting the img file to verify the download wasn't corrupted? Did you try doing a similar check with the superSU zip? What version of supersu are you trying to use? Have you tried clearing cache and dalvik after installing supersu (not necessary but sometimes helps clear up issues)?

Hi!! Okay, I am having the same problem you had and need to know exactly what you did to fix it.
I followed the instructions exactly. I am stuck on the "set warranty bit kernel screen. I want to know what you did to fix this.
(When you were flashing the supersu for the second time, before you had to clear cache and dalvik, did you just go into recovery mode and flash it again, or did you have to delete something before you did that)
Please get back to me anyone, advice needed!
I cleared the caches before i rebooted into the system ( well i think this is what i did , it was a week ago) good luck bud?

Hi,
I have the reboot loop after flashing any of the .570 rom. I have tried the flashable zip from one thread and have also tried a couple of FTFs with APP Log and UserData wipe selected.
Does anyone know why this isn't working on my phone? I have a regular 4G Z2 with a locked BL.
Thanks,

I don't know BUT today he make the new one with the latest version 570 with this fix bootloop I can try and enjoy MM rom .
I saw this, I have now flashed the ultraslim rom and the .570 fix instead.
What is the bootloop like? I have bootloop after flash the 570 made from a tft. It shows the SONY logo and then black screen for seconds then auto reboot. I'll try that bootloop fix zip tomorrow. Hope that will work.
My bootloop consisted of the ROM booting but as soon as you touched the screen to check a box or unlock the screen it would restart. The fix by niaboc works as I've applied it on the ultraslim ROM, now using the latest kernel and latest ROM!
To fix the bootloop, have to flash via recovery.
Then how I enter the recovery while this handheld keep restart at welcome screen.thanks for ur respons
Touch the screen and hold volume down! If you've installed a ROM without recovery then you'll have to reflash a ftf and start again

I'm myself on existenz. And ll say it's the best rom for z2. Battery life is better than stock. Speed better than stock. More features than stock.
Also install xposed to add more functionality to your phone

[Step-by-step] How to install eXistenz ROM on your Z2
Okay. So, this is for Xperia Z2 MM .291 only. If you have a rooted device then follow the steps but if you dont have root and recovery on your phone then first get rooted from here :- ROOT
Now, for installing eXistenZ Rom follow these steps :-
1. Download eXistenZ v5.0.1 from here and the latest update (which is v5.6.5 for now. Check for updates here) From here -> Latest Update <-
You dont need to have all the updates because all the features of previous updates will be included in the newer updates.
2.After downloading these two files download Bootloop fix(from here) and baseband patch for z2 (from here)
3. After Downloading these 4 files, place them in your SD card.
4. Now go to Recovery. select install and then select Existenz v 5.0.1 (the first file we downloaded). after that install again and the latest update i.e v5.6.5 (the second file we downloaded). And now reboot your device.
5. wait for 10 mins. There is a fair chance you'll get a bootloop i.e your phone will be stucked on xperia screen. THen force shut down your phone ( force shut down by pressing a little button which is on the left hand side of sim tray for 3 secs. ) and go to recovery AND flash bootloop fix (the third file we downloaded). and reboot your device.
6. the first boot may take time but this will work. but now you will notice that you wont have any signal. so for that do to recovery again and flash baseband patch (the fourth file we downloaded). and just reboot.
7. enjoy. you have working eXistenZ rom on your phone.
Please Ask If you have any query.
P.S.: NONE OF THEM IS MY WORK. I'M JUST SHARING THIS METHOS FOR THOSE PEOPLE FACING PROBLEMS INSTALLING THE EXISTENZ ROM.

whenever you have bootloop on your device on this rom flash the bootloop fix
and whenever no signals flash the baseband patch.
and yes when you flash the baseband patch, it takes time to boot like 10-15mins.
so now you are rooted.
install xposed installer and then the android-n-ify to get nougat like notifications.
greenify for more battery.
and enjoy.
if you want an app for somthing specific ask me.

Go to xposed framework modules forum on xda and search for obb on sd. There are 2-3 xposed modules. Try them.

Ohh that's a problem then. Post on xinternal sd or obb on sd thread about your issues. Maybe they will help.
